  1. lol yeah it's sort of like if you asked an NFL QB what his goal for the year is and he said "Put up big stats so I can make the pro bowl and get a fat bonus check for it"
  2. Smoke = Information from someone inside the organization in question Anything else is just opinion from people completely uninvolved in the Commander's decision making process.
  3. I have no clue. The difference between me and sports writers is that it doesn't impact me negatively if I just admit that I don't know because I don't have any contacts in the Commanders FO who talk to me. But sports writers don't make money off of "I don't know", so they have to either 1) lie and say they have inside info (most don't fall under this umbrella) 2) say they have "info from other sources" which basically just means they've talked to some random people from other teams and asked what they think the Commanders will/should do while trying to tap dance around not having to admit that they've gotten zero info from anyone in the Commanders org (most common but also the most prone to being used as a manipulation tactic by other teams) or 3) just give their own opinion and claim they've "heard" it elsewhere. There is absolutely zero smoke from anyone who has talked to someone inside the Commanders organization. Because nobody in our org is talking to anyone. All the "smoke" is what I've just said above. People passing off their own or others' opinions as "smoke" while trying to avoid admitting that they haven't actually talked to anyone in the Commanders FO But when pressed most of them will eventually admit it..
  4. He's not a natural speaker, it was the same with his post pro day presser. And there is no smoke. Nobody from our FO has talked about it. It's just random people guessing. And if any (or all) of this **** is true...the agent thing, him being peeved about the Top Golf stuff, the Heisman suit, him only being about his own personal glory this season...then I don't want him anywhere near this team. And I'd be shocked if GMAP and DQ do either.
  5. It's hard to get a handle on him. Seems like a good guy, kind of quiet, a little nervous sometimes. But the smoke about his mom, the agent thing, him potentially getting a bit upset by having to do the group thing with the Commanders (maybe not getting the red carpet treatment), the Heisman suit and silly story about it being some rogue tailor that put him all over his own lining, now his apparent focus purely on winning the Heisman vs CFP, etc. It just gives me a sus vibe.
  6. Are you saying you think Nabers success was mostly due to Daniels? If so, I'd watch the cutups of Nabers. Dude is ridiculous and regularly made DBs look like clowns. Same with Thomas.
  7. Considering what we know so far about his mom, it wouldn't necessarily surprise me if his mom was the one controlling these things that seem out of his control. Maybe she expressed her displeasure to the agent about the Commanders process, and she was the one who told the tailor what to do with the suit. It tracks.
  8. Ok so Daniels also doesn't have a say or control over what his own tailor does with his suits? Why does he seem to utterly out of control of so many things? He apparently can't control his agent. He can't control his mom. He can't even control his tailor now? Does he just have a super weak personality or something? And I don't even buy the tailor thing. A tailor making that sort of suit wouldn't just randomly go rogue like that. Everything is very thoroughly discussed with the client. And even IF he somehow got a completely rogue tailor, if he didn't like the lining when he was shown the finished product, he should say so. The lining could be replaced in a day or two by a good tailor. Why the **** is everything so sus with this dude?
  9. I have no clue whether it's funny or sad that Jay is a far better comedian than coach or football analyst.
  10. Don't forget that Drake Maye's footwork is also so bad that he runs into walls constantly and trips over his own feet while standing still. His accuracy is so awful that every pass he attempts literally goes 30 yards in the opposite direction he was throwing it. And his processing so slow that they had to take timeouts during games just so he could re-train himself to tie his own shoe laces when they came undone.
  11. They forgot to give him clubs, so he made do the best with what he had on him and they saw his true superpower.
  12. I never had an issue with the meditation thing. I do it sometimes and as a person who is ADHD and has also dealt with mental health challenges I know it can be very helpful. Now a picture of yourself in your own jacket? Yeah, no. Miss me with that ****.
  13. This thread is such a rollercoaster, man. Keim: "There's not a 0% chance that they'll take McCarthy at 2 overall" ES: "OMG WE'RE TAKING MCCARTHY AT 2! MAYBE HE'S THE NEXT BRADY! OR PURDY ON STEROIDS! HE CAN PLAY IN COLD WEATHER! I HEAR HE HAS A 12 INCH PENIS!"
  14. I can hand the ball off in cold weather too. Maybe I should throw my hat in the ring for #2 overall? Just poking fun at the surge in McCarthy love in here recently.
  15. Agents and players can go **** a cactus sideways if they're too much of a bunch of sissies and crybabies to withstand a ****ing group Top Golf outing. That is actually a really good test on its own. You have a top pick in the draft. Publicly state that you're going to do a fun group outing like the Commanders did. And then see who embraces it and who whines like little ****es. The ones who whine like little ****es can immediately be crossed off the list.
  16. I think the Maye/Daniels and defenses they faced thing kind of balances out by talent around them though. Daniels faced better defenses overall, but he also had a really good OL and 2 elite 1st round receivers. Maye faced worse defenses overall, but had a **** OL and nobody of note to throw the ball to. Tez Walker is fast but other than that he sucks. Runs **** routes, constantly drops passes, and is lazy. I wouldn't take him before the 5th round.
  17. Obviously this guy has no more actual insider info than anyone else, and I'm not entirely sure i buy his take that the whole Top Golf group thing was solely to test Daniels, but I do buy that it was at the very least partially to test them all. Throw them a big curveball. See who thrives, see who adapts, see who doesn't, see who complains. Life as an NFL QB is basically a giant curveball and you have to be able to handle novel and stressful situations in a measured way. Also tests leadership ability. See who sticks out, see who brings people together, see who sticks to themselves, see who sulks.
  18. Jesus Christ. I never saw that Heisman thing with Daniels with a picture of himself in his jacket. That's just.......cringe.
  19. Agreed. I'm sure KK probably has input on all of the top QBs as far as what he likes or doesn't about them. But I'd guess that if GMAP and DQ went to him and simply said "Hey could you do something with any of these three guys?" (assuming it's Maye, Daniels, and McCarthy), KK would probably say "Abso-****ing-lutely"
  20. I actually think the fact that he took Kyler points to him being very flexible with who he can work with, as opposed to that being the type of QB he looks for. He was a new HC with a #1 overall pick. They had Rosen, who he probably knew sucked and didn't like. So his first order of business was getting a new QB he could mold. It was a **** QB draft and Murray was the best of the bunch. So he took the chance and bet on his ability to mold his system to Kyler's strengths.
