  1. Yeah that can definitely be demoralizing. But we know for a fact that good teams can game plan to try and take away the legs of QBs who run a lot. A game plan for Daniels could be a combination of blitzing and keeping a spy on him. We know when pressured he doesn't throw often. So make him uncomfortable, get him off his spot, keep a spy on him so he can't pick up a bunch of yards, and then try to take away short stuff and deep boundary throws. Force him to beat you with throws he's not all that comfortable with. Mostly tight window 2nd level middle of the field. I honestly don't think he'll be all that difficult to game plan for, especially early in his career.
  2. Yeah there's a big difference between "your voice will be heard in this process" and "our decision will be based on what you want" At the end of the day it's GMAP's pick to make, likely with input and buy-in from DQ and possible input from KK, but even DQ won't be a decision maker. Which is how it should be with a real team structure and a real GM.
  3. So you accuse someone of making a lazy argument and then counter it by literally making no argument for your case. Impressive.
  4. IMO Brady shouldn't even be discussed seriously in this situation (or pretty much any other similar one). It's a red herring because Brady was a complete and utter one-off that will never happen again. He had a legit superpower to process information and space at an absolutely alarming rate. It really is almost superhuman how quickly he was able to react and process time and space from within the pocket. Combine that superpower with his psychotic competitiveness and work ethic and you have the ingredients for Brady. Ingredients that won't happen like that again because that sort of information processing capacity can't be taught any more than having a cannon arm or size can be taught. It can be honed and refined, but the natural capacity he had was something almost no other humans do. There were some signs at Michigan that he was a fast processor, but nothing really gave up the true extent of it until he was in the NFL and could showcase it. We need to stop looking for the next Brady because he doesn't exist, and won't exist. Hoping that x y or z prospect is the next Brady is nothing but a recipe for disappointment.
  5. Man, this place is just savage today. But I'm done trying to stick up for people. I tried to stick up for @Llevron and I didn't even get a stupid t-shirt out of it.
  6. This was my favorite part from the section on Maye, straight from the "I have very clearly never watched a single snap of either of these guys" files: As a side note, I had no idea that water boys count as "executives" now.
  7. The Cult of Colt was a legit cult, man. That thread was straight up wild. The Heiny Hivers had nothing on them.
  8. Jay is an idiot, I don't care what nice things he might say about Maye. I basically ignore him when he talks about QBs, regardless of who it is. Colt is better, but still hit or miss. I do like listening to him more than Jay because he's better at breaking down tape and explaining what's going on. Jay just sounds like a goober.
  9. All of these people predicting Daniels with so much certainty basically say the same stuff: "It's going to be Jayden Daniels to the Commanders, I'm positive. Because I said so. And because I heard something somewhere at some point."
  10. Oh absolutely. It's why I envy those teams who hit with their guys. It's just so hard to project. But unfortunately you just have to do your best and take a shot. And if it doesn't work cut your losses and try again. Recent live shot from Denise White's home:
  11. "No damage control! No damage control! That's not damage control! No wai!! It's all about publicity! All publicity is good publicity! No damage control! You're nuts if you think they're doing damage control! NO DAMAGE CONTROL TO SEE HERE!"
  12. These takes crack me up because they always somehow "neglect" to mention the fantastically low success rate for QBs taken after the 1st round. Yes, it's a crapshoot. And you're more likely to miss than get a stud. But if you want a stud, chances are he's going to be in the 1st round.
  13. A middle of the road starter for a #1 overall pick is a bust IMO. If you pick a guy in the top 3 you're banking on a star, not a so-so starter. So while most of those guys may still be in the league in one form or another in a few years, none of them besides Burrow are stars or even franchise QBs. You could maybe make the case for Murray but he's only had one really good season and everything else was derailed by injuries. So if we pick Daniels or Maye at #2 and in 3-4 years they're maybe a top 15-20 starter, then that's a bust and hopefully we'll jettison them before having to pay big bucks for a middling QB.
  14. Not surprising. Most college QBs (especially younger ones) will need to work on their footwork at least a bit. Especially if they're coming from a less "NFL style" offense. If footwork couldn't be improved with coaching we'd see a hell of a lot more busts than we do. Footwork and mechanics were concerns with Mahomes, Allen, and Herbert as well. This is why that footwork/mechanics red flag for Maye doesn't scare me as much as some of the red flags on Daniels.
  15. Eh, out of all those guys the only one who has lived up to his draft status is Burrow. Mayfield, Murray, and Tua were all very high picks and are pretty much mediocre now. Not total busts, but definitely didn't live up to where they were drafted IMO. Mac Jones was also a pretty high 1st round pick and is now a backup who was traded for a 6th round pick.
  16. I like Keim a lot as well, but I also think it's clear that he does have at least a slight personal JD bias. As @illonesaid, it's not a big deal, but we should be realistic about it and not pretend that he's completely and utterly above the fray at all times.
  17. He doesn't think it's crazy and isn't pretending it didn't happen. He's simply downplaying it some, even though IIRC he was actually one of the people who brought attention to it, so who knows what his play is here. You going to respond to any of my other points? Do you think ****ing about their interview process is the best way to secure your client a spot with a certain team?
  18. All you're basically doing is gaslighting here and pretending like nothing happened and that anyone who thinks anything of it is crazy. But you then go on to admit that yeah he probably didn't like the process but you hand wave that away as the process itself being silly, even though many NFL teams have admitted to doing that sort of thing in the past, including Bill B. And of COURSE people on Twitter who are NFL scout types or analysts are going to know who he is. The effing immediately recognized him and brought attention to it, for god's sake. Oh and you're also going back to the old "all publicity is good publicity" well it seems, when this sort of thing could potentially cost his client millions of dollars. If he wanted his client to be drafted #2 ****ing about the interview process with the team holding that pick is a really odd way to go about it.
