Re: deer video What is it with Russians (I think it was Russian they were speaking) and having cameras in their cars recording everything? All over youtube you can find crazy ass accidents and other stuff on the road from Russia. Is it just a fad or is there a more pragmatic reason for it?

I take 66 to work every day as well and I'm in complete agreement with you. It is HORRIBLE; people are always doing stupid **** and as a result there must be a least one fender bender I pass every day on the way to work. I've gotten to the point where I mentally adjust my commute time with the assumption that there will be at least one or two dumbasses who couldn't figure out how to drive without running into the back of the car in front of them. Usually because they're texting, etc. Numbnuts, the lot of them.

RE: WalMart video. Yeah I have heard about them doing that sort of thing before as well. A guy I used to work with actually visited their main headquarters for some business meetings when his company was trying to get a contract to work with them and he said it was VERY creepy there; almost like a cult. Very isolated, very secretive, very indoctrinated...the people who worked there really had this fierce ideological loyalty to WalMart. He said even the building itself was creepy as hell...just this enormous monolithic brick building with almost zero windows.

I watched that as well. A really interesting documentary that gives you a feel of just how cut off from the rest of the world they really are. I remember one part where during a conversation she asked one of the monitors that was with them if it was possible for Kim Jong il to ever be wrong. He honestly just didn't seem to even understand what she meant; it was like she was speaking a different language. It might have been acting but it really didn't look like it...the guy seemed genuinely bewildered and uncomprehending at the question.

Yeah I saw that on cracked and it had me laughing like crazy. Its so weird that all of their propaganda is just THAT bad. You'd think they would have the resources to either train people or to hire someone outside who had more than a 3rd grader's knowledge of video editing and sense of aesthetics. Maybe they really couldn't care less what the rest of the world thinks since most of that is just for their populace anyway. That or they really do believe they are making top notch, subversive propaganda films but nobody who has seen them internally is dumb enough to tell the higher ups that they are terrible.

I also love how they put in footage of places that were obviously in Europe and then covered themselves by saying that the USA (for reasons known only to us I suppose) often disguise areas of this country to look like countries in Europe. Sort of assuming this is a joke, but the best part is that NK is so insane and bad at propaganda that none of us would really be surprised if it wasn't.

They are right about one thing though. I only catch and eat birds on Tuesdays. How did they know?? I have a hard time seeing the world really blaming us if something happened as a direct result of NK going too far in the process provoking us. Right now NK is like a little guy with an inferiority complex harassing and annoying a big ass bodybuilder in public because he thinks he can get away with it. At first he's right but at some point he may go too far and if that happens not many people who have been watching will blame the bodybuilder for punching him in the mouth.

Some of that is just depth of field in the photograph. But not all of it...dude really does have a large melon. He's only a little taller than his wife and his head looks almost twice as big as hers.

Maybe the long pants are meant to symbolically convey the powerful positions they hold: they are so rich and powerful that they will always have somewhere to go that is safe from floods, unlike the poor and uncivilized ruffians they rule over. So they wear their pants very long to show their utter contempt for all things flood related.

Poor girl. At least she won't starve though.
