  1. It wasn't that bad. It wasn't great, it was average at best. However, since Marvel has progressively raised the bar it makes average movies come off as bigger let downs. Plus, this X-Men movie made the mistake of releasing very shortly after Civil War did. Big mistake because that movie was great and following it raised the bar up even higher. The characters were fine, but the fight scenes weren't that compelling and the story was just too generic. Plus they changed way too much from the comics. Making Mystique the lead just b/c it's Jennifer Lawrence was a poor choice. Same with changing the origin of how Weapon X gets loose. IMO, ranking the movies: Days of Future Past, First Class, X-Men 2, X-Men, all the Wolverine movies, then Last Stand which was putrid. Oh, and if we want to count Deadpool then obviously move that to the top of the list. Good point too about Deadpool only getting greenlit because someone was wise enough to leak the test footage and it went viral.
  2. X-Men Age of Apocalypse leaked online. It's just ok. Days of Future Past was way better and this new one made a bad decision of having a release date so close to Civil War. Civil War was fantastic and this movie is nowhere near it.
  3. Great movie Airport battle royale overall was great Giant man and Spidey hitching a ride from War Machine were great. I liked how they did several pairings well, making them into combo moves. Marvel has done well with this since Avengers with Hulk and Thor, Cap and Iron Man, etc.
  4. Wasn't Mystique a leader on the X-Men in the comics for a brief stint? But still, I too see JLaw in the lead role as unnecessary given the franchise's popularity. I don't think her role as Mystique in any of the movies has been a big reason why people saw it. I guess they are just playing on the team being young and her being seasoned, and even though she did sort of mentor some in First Class and then somewhat again in rescuing mutants during Future Past, it still does feel forced to have her as the leader. It would be much better to have Cyclops be given the chance to step up and become the leader.
  5. That was Storm, but young version. Actress wasn't Halle Berry.
  6. DC needs to man up and give Lobo his own movie. Let the Ash vs. Evil Dead production team make the movie. Would be like DC's answer to Marvel's Deadpool movie (which should be awesome).
  7. It's a shame DC doesn't just let their TV and animated films people take care of their live action movies more often, or always. Excited for Suicide Squad, not so much for Bats v Supes or JL. Just so many bad casting choices, not a fan of Snyder directing this. On top of that it's been said movie Flash and Green Arrow won't be the guys from the tv series, which is a huge slap in the face considering they helped launch interest in DC again (especially Arrow). The newest trailer does look better than the others, but I agree with Momma that it gives away a lot. I already hate Eisenberg's Luthor and I just am not buying Affleck's Batman even though I really want to. On top of it, now they are perverting the origin of Doomsday horribly for no good reason. Underwhelmed.
  8. Saw the new Mission Impossible in the theater. It was great!
  9. I don't know, for FF that seems light. Ant-Man, which is focused on just 1 guy, had a budget just under $130 million. Now you have Fantastic Four, and Dr. Doom, and they go to another dimension to gain powers, get comfy with their powers, then fight, and you do all that for less than what it cost to make Ant-Man? It's another bad sign for a movie that already has a lot of bad signs. The first Avengers movie had a budget of $225 mil, newer Spider-Man was $230 mil. I think Metalhead's rant is dead on.
  10. yeah I liked Ant-Man as well, effects were done well plus the scenes with toy train had some very funny parts to it when they put it in perspective.
  11. I liked Future Past, but am not a fan of how Apocalypse looks. Hope he acts the party very well, because he'll need to.
  12. New Terminator looks awful IMO, going off the long trailer. Salvation was leading to what most want to see, which is full future battles. Instead they do a screwy reboot and that along with genesis being misspelled purposefully are serious signs of suckage.
  13. FF4 trailer looks better than what I was expecting based off the casting, but that series along with Spiderman and a few others need to move past origin stories. Most interested in those movies know the story going in.
  14. 10% of the message board members are offended, so clearly it's time to change it
  15. I'm so excited for this movie and am very happy with the good reviews it's been getting so far. I'm jealous you got to see it already.
  16. and if he learns how to open doors, watch out....
  17. Me too. They've already started laying stuff down for season 4 in advance of renew/cancel notice so hopefully that's because they like their chances. The creator has said the show has a 7-10 season story arc. I don't see it doing a full 10, but if they get renewed I think season 4 is going to be awesome with the story direction they are going based on the finale (don't want to say anything more to avoid spoilers) and if it is I could see the show going 8 seasons to wrap up.
  18. This season had me doubtful as well, seemed to lack direction. The last few episodes corrected that and the finale ends well, leaves a good cliffhanger, and I like the direction they seem to be headed in now..... and Rachel Nichols
