This was Rivera's choice. Could have let him walk and signed someone like Thune, but wanted to guarantee Scherff would be here for at least this season. Rivera can be very loyal to "culture" guys.

As long as it's one of the animal names from the list I would be happy (except maybe Demon Cats). Perhaps then my son would get into it as well. The biggest market for the name change are younger fans. Gonna want to market it to kids as well.

It's very rare to bring in FA's very close to the draft. FO's are now super focused on their draft big boards and often completely ignore FA until after the draft. Part of the Bills trade up that year involved sending OT Cordy Glenn to the Bengals to move up. Perhaps a DT from our team could be involved in a trade up this year or next.

Agreed, but the draftnik community is still only making educated guesses, as teams are just this week sitting down to finalize their draft boards. I love the speculation but there can be a lot of blow back when players start rising up the draft boards because it doesn't jive with the community.
