Our secondary has a ton of good young players that are waiting to break out.  Sainristil might be the best one of all of them.  It would not shock me if he is a really good player as a rookie, and quickly takes over the leadership of the defense.  I get a very strong Terry McLaurin vibe from him.

    Big time.

I heard that he ran routes at Michigan's proday and looked crisper than their starting receivers.  He'd call out the routes during games of the opposing offense.

He's a special player.  One of my favs in the process.  I had some doubts though at the end he'd bit a fit to this defense, smaller CB who majors in zone.

But clearly they think he is.  Peters said they took him to dinner in the process to get to know him.  He's the one player digesting all the post draft narratives in the press conferences that this regime specifically targeted in the 2nd round.

Sounds like what happened was that was their top target unti Newton dropped and then wanted both and got them.

He reminds me of Yiadom who we lost last minute to 49ers. I am expecting he was probably our first call saying to give us last decision. We have Joe Whit Jr who is known for developing corners. We have roster spot to fit him as well.

Yeah i didn't expect to be jazzed watching an UDFA especially after reading about his tools.  Toolsy UDFAs usually are meh as players ala Owens who we took too.  Maybe I was just watching the right game but I was impressed and then seeing half the league was after signing this guy, it made more sense.

    SIP throwing down right away!

I would love to see a Lachey/Sinnott combo! Bring him home, he even looks like his dad!

I like T's Banks and Savaiinaea. I question how good the LSU T's are, interested to see how they grade out without Daniels.

Bet they will be looking at add toughness and speed to Edge, WR, RB, and CB along with T and G

I've paid a little attention to Evans but not much ditto Lachey.  Both both schools typically do TEs well so look forward to watching.

Easy to see watching Daniels his tackles were good.  Feels like they are an early favorite.

How does a 6-1 200 corner who runs a 3.3 and has decent to food film manage to go undrafted?

Don't know.  When I watched Owens for example he struck me as easily an UDFA, toolsy guy but played poorly in the game I watched.

As for Anusiem I just watched one game, maybe I watched his best one?  Brugler had him as a late round CB and expected him to be drafted.

I liked last year two dudes who went undrafted who ended up good -- Keaton Mitchell and Ivan Pace.  In those cases, I watched both players a lot before the draft.  Keaton with sub 4.4 speed, big production yet teams passed over him.  Pace IMO had the best film and production of that LB class yet passed over.

I never watched this guy until yesterday but he looked good to my eyes, feisty, plenty sticky enough in coverage, good against the run.

Sometimes players slip through the cracks, will see.  Peters said some of their UDFA targets are guys they considered in the late rounds.

Speed isnt his game though. He is a possession receiver. Have to have them as well. His hands are ****ing play doh. And his routes are solid too. I will be shocked if he doesnt make the practice squad at least.

I know I wrote a longish post about him on the draft thread months back and then took him on the board's mock draft.  4.8 though is a turnvoff for ANY WR.  that's even a little slow for an F TE let alone Wr.   But as I said I dig it as a UDFA.

I love this pick, too. Our DL feels a lot more stacked to me.

yeah he was on my list in that 3rd day of the draft.  Really solid player.  Good athlete.  Much more jazzed about him versus the late round pass rushers we took last year.

That was my list below before the draft.  I wanted on the htird day, Booker, Solmon, Kamara, X. Thomas but once they were gone, he was a high want from me

I only found one game of cut ups for Jordan Magee, and I didn't think his reps were that good.  I definitely didn't see "most instinctive LBer in the class" or anything even remotely close to that.  I saw a lot of false steps and late keys in coverage, and I didn't see much of an ability to sift through and avoid trash, or get off/around blocks quick.  I want to give him the benefit of the doubt because of how athletic he is, and how good SF was at picking LBers, but I'm not sure this guy is good.

Haven't watched him yet.  Sucks that PFF took off their 2024 big board and already switched to 2025 because when there is a limited games to watch their write ups are helpful because they rate the play in every game and sometimes based on that I see if that one game might inflate or deflate the player if its one of their best or worst.

  8. Better athlete. Different size. Better blocker.

I get the H back comps to Cooley. And Sheehan loves to make that comparison to his pal.

He reminds me some of Cooley but not a ton.

Hes more Cooley than anything else. Maybe a bit better blocker. Im so glad the Cole Turner and John Bates experiment can end.

Bates is basically a blocking TE. I dont see that as an experiment or ending. But Cole Turner’s run here as an F TE might be over. Will see

  9. Watched a quick game for Anusiem and one from Owens.

Super impressed on a quck glance from Anusiem.  Height-length with sub 4.4 speed and he plays with oomph.  Looked strong against the run.  Feisty in coverage.

Owens on the other hand, meh, looked uncontrolled and at times uninterested in getting in the mix.  Though he looks the part big time -- long and fast.

  10. Diving deeper into watching him, wow is he disruptive.  His stats are very good.  but for me what I look for in pass rushers are guys that are constantly disruptive.  That's him.

    Strong hands-great motor.

I read that he thinks if he ran he'd run in the 4.7 range.  Not sure I agree he's that fast but he's certainly fast for a DT.

He's not also just one of those DTs who tries to blow up the line of scrimmage and if he doesn't they just watch the play behind them in a slow job.  This dude chases down offensive players whether they are in front of him or behind.

  11. Sidebar.

Hearing about Peters working around the clock nonstop and barely even saw his familly since he got here. Quinn I heard has been coming in 5 amish in the off season and has gone at it nonstop,

I appreciate Ron being a nice guy working for a douche owner and an organization desperate for class.  But aside from that with the benefit of hindsight he was a poor man's Bruce Allen (but way classier than Bruce).

Like Bruce, he treated mediocrity like success and with an odd swagger and complacency about their off seasons.  Bruce in retrospect was better with personnel.  Both both below average at their job.  I'll grant Dan made them along everyone worse at their jobs.  Both were obsessed with winning off the field.  Bruce lost off the field big time though claimed victory.  Ron actually did win off the field but seemed to want to be celebrated for it as if that alone changed the culture.   To me changing the culture isn't just about not being a douche -- its also about building a winning culture.  Building a winning culture isn't about being a nice guy alone.

Sheehan rebroadcasted this off season Ron's farewell press conference in Carolina and the dude came off a bit angry and defiant.  And he came here with the swagger of there was nothing to learn from his mediocre run in Carolina.

Quinn is 180 from that.  He's so obsessed with being a better HC he hired a firm to interview people he's worked with to scope out how to do it better.  He comes off manical in his desire to kill it this time

It's tough to build Rome in a day.  But my gut is that this defense is already going to be top 10.  They will need another off season to build the O line.  I think Jayden has a good shot to be the answer at QB.  The sky is brighter to me.

  12.

PFf blocking grades.  Barner best, Sinnott 2nd best, feels right to me,

PFF is weird about Sinnott like they were with Quan Martin last year.  They both scored well on their individual metrics but they felt the sum of their parts is less than the whole.

I disagreed with them about Martin.  And I disagree with them about Sinnott

Didn't realize Sinnott was so low on the consensus boards.  I had him at 58 on my board, so for me we got him at about his natural slot.  I don't understand why he was outside the top 100 for so many sources.  What am I missing?  I didn't see any weaknesses and he popped on film like LaPorta did last year.

Yeah he was my 2nd TE when I ranked TEs.   He made my guys list, too

But I noticed PFF, Brugler among others weren't that high on him.

He can do it all, agree.   And he has both good production and a good RAS score.

Only thing about him that I can see some hesitate on his seperation skills don't jump out at me watching him in the same way like for example Laporta did last year.
