  1. Good to hear. I recall you were down on him from the first game you watched. I gather you found more games to watch. He's the only dude I haven't watched yet but will. 5 sacks and a 90 pass rushing grade from PFF among other things appeal to me. But I don't have a take yet from watching him.
  2. Jacksaint's catch is saving me from some embarassment. I took him in the mid rounds in the board's mock draft and touted him some on the draft thread and then he goes undrafted. 😢 Imagine if they took Penix? Penix to Yankoff?
  3. Yeah McCaffrey and Sainstril in particular come off uber mature, articulate and driven. Sinnott to some extent, too. I don't want to jinx it but my early vibe about this draft class is very optimistic. Feels good to feel this way. Last year around this time, I started turning on Ron and trashing his off season. But I feel really good about everything this regime did. You can't rebuild a crap team in one off season. But they've gone very far towards that goal. Next off season, they clearly need to zone in on tackle, outside corner and maybe edge. But we don't have a zillion holes IMO anymore. And that's before launching into the coaching. All the reports about how much energy this coaching staff brought compared to the previous one. Quinn supposedly already working around the clock. Peters has barely seen his family. We've gone from Rivera who was stuck on 35 miles an hour as a GM and a coach to a 70 mile an hour staff. This staff comes off much more hardworking and ambitious. I know we've been burned so much that some are predisposed to be cynical. I get it. Years ago, I'd be giddy about all of this. Now am cautiously optimistic. But as much as I had a bad feeling about the last off season and how it would fliter to the season. I feel the opposite this time. I think this team exceeds expectations.
  4. The cool thing for me about this draft is its difficult for me to pick one player. McCaffrey though would be the one who I didn't dig that deep before the draft but love more and more about his chances the more I hear about him and watch his interviews. In an interview, he comes off as polished and mature as Terry does. Interesting to hear his coach explain that people are surprised to lean about his speed because he's a heavy foot runner -- that is, he lands hard on his feet when he runs so to the naked eye he doesn't look as fast. Makes sense to me on reflection. Meaning a lot of fast athletes sort of glide when they run but some don't. My hesitation when watching him was he didn't come off as twitchy as some of the WRs I watched but hearing his coaches explanation was interesting to me. I am not a heavy foot runner myself when I run but I never really thought about the point until he made it.
  5. Forgot who said it but one NFL type who is around a lot of players over the years -- college and pros said Jayden is the most humble dude he's been around in that mix.
  6. Listened to Luke's college coach on Galdi's podcast talk about him. He was beyond effusive, thinks he will be a stud in the NFL. Works hard. He played in an NFL system. Good athlete. Smart.
  7. I was high on Maye too albiet high on Daniels at the same time. I think both end up studs. Will see. The one I'd bet against becoming a stud is McCarthy but I think he will be good -- Kirk level good potentially but don't think he's a top 5 type, will see. I'll say one thing Daniels brings over Maye and by a mile and I said so when I was perhaps a co-pres of the Maye Nation fan club -- that is, excitement. Maye isn't unexciting. Good personality and is a fun watch. But Daniels is definitely more of an electric player because of his wheels. Seeing all those cameras there at today's practice. I'd be surprised if it was the same for Maye. When you got national reporters like Eisen clamoring for Dallas-Washington week 1 because he wants to see Daniels play or all the Chicago-Washington hype, Lamar versus Daniels, etc -- wouldn't be the same IMO with Maye. Not that it matters to the bottom line but I'll say the hype is certainly higher with Daniels
  8. Listened to Trevor from PFF on Paulsen's podcast addressing the dispairty between him and some mock drafters (who preferred Maye) and most scouts-coaches who prefered Daniels. Trevor thought was the NFL scouts-coaches were enamored with Daniels consistent mechanics and delivery which Maye didn't share. It was an interesting listen. PFF by far were the biggest Maye people along with Nat Trice. But they also thought Daniels was close behind him. But it was interesting to hear Trevor explain why he gets why scouts seemed to prefer Daniels and it centered on the consistency of his mechanics.
  9. He writes a ton for ESPN especially about the draft.
  10. A dude who I took in the board's mock draft, strong hands, posession WR
