  1. So basically, they are cancelling Raw be ause of fan backlash?

Think its the blizzard in the Northeast. RAW is in CT tonight and their Governor put in a travel restriction starting at 9pm tonight. So if people aren't supposed to be on the roads during RAW, it's hard to have any fans show up. Wonder what an empty arena episode of RAW would look like?

  2. Hoax.  Would have been cool though.

For fun what would be the best 3 man lineup the US could offer?  I'm thinking Lebron, KD, and Unibrow.  Super versatile and long.

Damn just saw it's not true. Thought it was too good.

I kinda like the writer's idea of Curry, Thompson and Davis. Between Curry's shooting and Davis' defense, it would be tough to do much against them.

I'd go with LeBron, Davis and Curry.

Also liked one of the comments of just having a team with Kobe. He would probably beat one of the crappy countries by himself.

  3. Saw this on Uproxx:

Sources have described Vince McMahon as being “very grumpy” lately and it’s said that he does not like the perception that NXT is putting on better shows than the main roster is.

This has apparently resulted in a strange situation where Vince is souring on NXT talents before they even get called up. The whole idea behind NXT is that they get talents ready for the main roster. Vince is said to be very dismissive of NXT’s success and reportedly feels that some of the NXT stars are overrated.

  4. By the way, not to go all gallen, but the only thing that could have saved last night's show was Sting showing up during the firing, pointing a bat, and taking the three losers to the the rafters with him where he can teach them to be brooding avenging babyfaces or something.

I don't get what the point of bringing back Sting was a couple months ago, only to have the Authority back and still no Sting. Guess it's going to be Sting-HHH at WM?

  5. You can cancel anytime, there are no contracts. That's according to their site.

Also included: Net video from Disney-owned Maker Studios online content network. Customers can also add more channels with a sports extra package (expected to include the other ESPN channels) or Kids Extra package (Disney Junior, Disney XD and others) or a News & Info Extra package (Bloomberg TV, CNN Headline News) for an additional $5 monthly each.

Sounds like its something to monitor.

Though a couple issues I could see:

    1) Can only stream to one TV at a time. Which could work for some, but for families, this seems like a deal breaker if everyone wants to watch something different.

    2) Doesn't come with local channels. Maybe not as big of a deal breaker, but it'll require an antenna to get your local channels.

  6. I remember when the redskins used to give out christmass tree ornaments the game before/after christmas every year. i have a bunch of them on my tree.

when's the last time the team gave the ticket holders anything other than a stupid kitchen towel to rip off another team's 'thing'?

almost all of the problems relating to this organization are easily fixable. snyder's just too stupid to see it.

Had 2 of them on my tree this year as well.

There used to be good giveaways at least a few games a season. I remember loving going to Opening Day as kid to get the schedule magnets.

Now, we get some random sign that has advertising all over it and a small Redskins logo.

  7. Anybody have a favorite in 2014?

I'm gonna say Dead Rise. Even though I didn't think it lived up to the hype, it was still a good beer and was pretty much the beer of the summer, at least in the DMV area.

  8. I thought it was Terra Rizin or something. It was WCW so the production crew probably changed the spelling each week. They were so so sloppy.

Bastion Booger was pretty bad. I'm sure if I went through some old Memphis cards, I'd find some real winners.

I kind of hate all the fake "real" names they have been giving out in recent years. Husky Harris anyone?

When he walked out it was "Terror Risin", but in the post Uproxx also had it has Terra Rysin, which may almost be worse.

Can we have a tournament to find the Best Worst Wrestler Name? If there's anything the 80s/90s wrestling was good for, it was awesome names.

  9. Agreed MTH. There really is no value for a STH when you can find tickets to the game for MUCH cheaper than what STH holders pay. For my seats in 453, I pay $84/set plus tax so $92/seat. I don't think there was 1 game this season where I could have sold my tickets on StubHub for face value. Every time I checked, I found tickets in my section for anywhere from $100-$10. Why would I buy season tickets when I could go to all the games for the price of one game?

Sure, season tickets are useful if this team becomes good again and is consistently in the playoffs, but that hasn't been in a VERY long time and I don't see that trend changing over the next few seasons. So what is the incentive then to the fans to keep buying season tickets?

  10. I am really on the Fence about renewing. This would only be my 3rd year. So I do not have the excuse for years of abuse. But I used to get excited to go to games. But this year it seemed like a chore. After the TB game, I told my wife I was not renewing. But later changed my mind. I think if we keep Haz that will be the back breaker for me.

The chore part is right. When they aren't winning, it almost feels like punishment for going to the games. If I'm going to spend my entire Sunday there, the least they could do is get a win.

  11. The tickets are priced for a playoff caliber team.  Which, of course, means a season ticket holder will likely not get fair value* in a given season under the current regime.  Yes, there will be exceptions, but on average, the value will not be there.  That's a fact and it's been a fact for over a decade.  The idea that the value will become worthwhile "when the team gets better" is hogwash.  It was hogwash 15 years ago, it was hogwash 10 years ago, it was hogwash five years ago, it is hogwash now, and it'll be hogwash five years from now.

Regarding this off-season, I've never talked to so many die hard fans who have already made the decision not to renew.

*Fair value being either the abilty to resell the tickets for a reasonable price or the tickets holding worthwhile entertainment value comparable to the cost.

Good points Mark. The tickets start out overpriced to begin with. I was really excited to be a STH going into this season. But I have no desire to renew next season. The onfield product is a mess, the tickets are expensive, parking is expensive, concessions are expensive and the team has no direction. Why keep investing in something that has no return and isn't getting any better?

  12.

Each season, I was in the hole for $400+ before the season even started. Then when the losing begins, I can't give the tickets away. Too many seasons of watching half-assed effort, loss after loss, & inept coaching.

That's the problem. When this team plays poorly, no one wants to go. Weren't tickets for the Rams game like $3 on StubHub? I wasn't expecting to make money off my tickets, but was hoping to at least get what I paid for the games that I didn't go to. When tickets are going for that cheap on StubHub, there's no incentive to be a STH, IMO.

  13. Raw’s Rating Fell To A Near Record Low This Week And An Embarrassing TLC Could Be To Blame

Raw did 3.51 million viewers last night, the lowest rating for the show since a Christmas Eve show in 2012. It was the lowest non-holiday audience for Raw since December 3, 2012, a show that did 3.43 million viewers, and one of the lowest rated non-holiday episodes since 1997.

    Gotta start making changes, right?
