I remember in my half-sleep state rolling over and seeing the Clips up big going into the 4th and Breen saying they're just 12 minutes away from advancing. Figured I'd wake up in the morning and see the Clips won. What in the world happened??

That and LKB hasnt been around to give us more of his old timer NWA tales
I say it often, but anytime LKB tells his old-man tales about wrestling, I make sure to immediatley click in here.

Really good article by Zach Lowe on the state of the Wiz and chasing Durant: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/the-wizards-playoff-kevin-durant/

But for how long?
Maybe until Durant and Westbrook leave

Love what Santana gave us, but personally I think it's time to move on.
Agreed. This team is in rebuild mode, let some younger WRs, like Grant, get their chances. If the team wants Santana back, bring him on as a WR coach or something.

It should also be said that the spurs have been without a superstar for a while. I don't want to hear any noise about Parker, Manu, and Duncan. When is the last time two of those three were producing at a super star levels consistently? That team is winning without a Kobe, Lebron, Shaq, Wade, etc style star that they can lean on to give them huge games consistently.
That teams shouldn't be winning and every year they are too old. But they just keep finding a way to thumb their noses at the star driven league.
It really is impressive. Seems like every season is supposed to be the year the Spurs fall apart. Yet, they just keep on chugging along.

What did he do, I missed it?
Tried to put back a Griffin miss, but it was still on the rim, so he was called for goal tending. Think there was only a few seconds left on the clock at this point and the Clips were down 1.
Would it be ridiculous to say that Jason Richardson is one the best dunkers of all time?
When I think of insane Sportscenter highlights, I think of him. Him and Andre Iguodala.
Yes it would. Vince Carter would like a word with you.

I don't mean to be "that guy" but I wasn't blown away by Dead Rise.
Sometimes I wonder (seriously) if my taste buds aren't sensitive enough.
I'm the same way. Decent beer, but doesn't live up to the hype for me. I'll drink it, but there's other beers I like more for a good summer beer.

So Rondo is mysteriously "out" for the next game.
Discuss.
He gone!

Had my first Dead Rise of the season. Think it tastes a little better than last year's batch.

Wonder if Phil Jackson is trying to get out of being Knicks Prez so he can coach OKC haha

Can't say that I saw this coming. Not getting a big head. A lot of BB left.
Was saying the same thing. Definitely didn't expect the Wiz to be going home up 2-0.
-
Wizards the only team without home court advantage to win a game so far. Weird how chalky the bracket has been so far.
Surprised with the Wiz, but can't say I'm shocked at how the rest of the games have turned out. I'd expect the home teams to win again tonight, except for maybe the Clippers. Think the Spurs even that series.

If these are the Clips new unis, then wow. They're awful.

Sounds like we could be in for some bad storms around the area today

Bought my wife some Samuel Smith Organic Chocolate Stout. Seriously one of the best chocolate stouts I've ever had. Little pricey for a 4-pack ($11.99), but well worth it.

Going to state the painfully obvious and say I like Golden State. If it's anyone but them or the Spurs, I'll be surprised. But the Clippers seem frisky too. And Dallas plays SA tough if each make it out of the first. Predicting the first round in the West is brutal this year.
The West is a total crapshoot. The only team I'd be surprised if they won the West would be the Pelicans and maybe the Mavs (just never know with Dirk).

Ted is doing everything possible to deemphasize the name "Wizards".
Just change the name back to "Bullets" and be done with it.
Yeah I don't know why they don't just get rid of Wizards and find another name. Besides the name on their jersey, you'd have no idea this team has anything to do with Wizards anymore.

I need that 6 weeks where I don't heat or cool the house, just leave windows open
Best time of the year. Nothing better than a nice breeze going through the house.

Wouldn't that then lead to tanking by the teams that are right around the bottom 8? Why wouldn't the team currently in 9th try to keep losing so they could become a bottom 8 team and then try to win the tournament for a better pick?

One of the biggest problems with the NBA is their lack of "spread the wealth" champions. I've brought this up ad naseum over the years that the NBA has had 9, count them, nine teams win the whole thing since 1980. 35 years of the SAME nine teams. The league is flawed that way. As much crap as baseball gets for their system not being fair, they've had over twice as many champions in that same time frame. Why is it taking the other 21 teams 35+ years to build a champion? You'd think with all the high draft picks that someone would get lucky one year.
The 9 champions looks bad, but I think only have 18 (17 if you counts the Sonics/Thunder as one team) different teams make the Finals over that period. Compared to 27/30 for MLB and 25/32 for the NFL. So over the last 35 years, 12 NBA teams haven't even made the Finals. Sure teams like the Raptors, Grizzlies and Pelicans haven't been around long, but neither have the Rockies, Marlins, Diamondbacks and Rays, but those 4 have all made the WS and the Dbacks and Marlins have won it.
The NBA has a really top heavy league. It seems like it has always been that way tough. I mean the Lakers and Celtics have a combined 33 of the 68 NBA titles and have a combined 52 Finals appearences.

Winning a division is so meaningless in the NBA, it's not like football where a third of your games are against your division. I couldn't name all the nba divisions much less who's in them.
I'd agree. With the season just about over, no one has played more than 16 games against their division opponents. 16 out of a possible 75 games for the Nuggest or 21% of their games have come against teams in their division.
Compare that to 37.5% for the NFL, 47% for MLB, 35% for NHL.
