  1. This is exactly the type of game this team wins. I predicted a shellacking by the Eagles. And we won. Following the Giants game, I believe they will be ready to grit it out with the niners. I think our D line forces Purdy into a few mistakes. Heinike plays well enough to not to lose it. And Turner will shock us and come up with a good game plan. And I think Robinson will get his yards, maybe not in the beginning, but he will, as the game progresses. 20-17 - Washington
  2. I guess you will have to take that up with Rivera. That is what he said. I also believe whether you call it roll out or bootleg, Taylor needs to move out of the pocket more. The guy can barely see over the LOS. I see mixed results with his running to one side and throwing the ball. Maybe I am just not as smart as you are about football, and I am not even being a smart ass about that, because I know I am just a fan, but it seems to me that they are expecting a guy with a weak ass arm to just drop back and throw. Forget it. It is not playing to his strengths. I mean that drive where he got the ball out quickly, two shots to TM and then to Dotson, was probably the best passing drive I ever witnessed from him.
  3. I was listening to Rivera yesterday and today and while he did not call out Turner directly, he talked about doing things that play to the strengths of your QB. More rolling out, bootlegs, and relying on the strength of the run game. One thing I always respected about Doug Pederson when he coached the Eagles, and Wentz, got hurt, and he had to go with Foles, was how he tailored the offense to him. I know a QB, should be able to adjust to an OC's gameplan, but when you have such a limited QB, you have to adjust massively for that, especially because they are backups. It just seems when this O is more up tempo and Taylor has to get the ball out quicker, it seems to go so much smoother. And obviously with our run game being so dominant right with Robinson now it should be luxury for both Turner and Heinike. I just do not like the game planning, as it pertains to TH. I mean you know he has a weak arm, and your backed up on the Giants one yard line and you are trying to throw the ball? You're not handing the ball off? Why?
  4. He is absolutely the #1 reason we lost. He was stripped of the ball, as deep as you can be in Giants territory, which resulted in a score. He fumbled the ball in the RZ resulting in a lost scoring opportunity. Ball security is key. The main takeaway from the game were the squandered opportunities.
  5. Good point. You know what. I do not understand the lack of balance with Turner or recognizing what does work with a guy like Heinike. So, the maddening part for me as a fan, is sitting there going, alright that worked well. It wasn't what I was expected, but hey you might be on to something here. Do more of that. Do that again. But he never does.
  6. Listening to Rivera, it was clear his main focus was the "missed" opportunities in the RZ. I would not be surprised at all if a QB change was announced. I know he is super loyal, but you can't continue with Heinike, unless you are content with 13-14 points a game, potentially losing out. With the exception of the drive Dotson scored on, I thought once it was a poorly called game. I don't understand why Turner does not stick with the run game primarily, especially when Robinson, at this juncture, is gashing defenses. It opens things up when they can't stop the run. I did like the series when Dotson scored. It was more balanced. BUT then Turner goes away from that. Heinike does better with quick releases. He is just not a drop back QB and every time he does drop back, I hold my breath. He is good for at least 2-3 boneheaded passes per game. And he is lucky as ****. He should have had, what I counted as two INTs in the game. I think they should go with Wentz. He can see over the LOS. He can now rely a bit on a steady run game, which will open up the passing lanes for him. Despite all his faults, Wentz has the arm we need right now.
  7. And of course they brought up Ryan blowing the SB lead. Geez come on Colts.
  8. With Heinike it is just such a crap shoot. There are just too many of those ill-advised, horrible floaty throws. How many more four-leaf clovers can he pull out of his ass? His deficiencies will not be hidden against the niners defense. I think he would be better if he ran sometimes, but he just won't. Nope he just throws ill-advised floaters.
  9. Exactly. In 10 hours of his deposition, he said he did not remember over 100 times. So, their conclusion? You are lying.
  10. I cannot imagine with the injury that Chase sustained, which wasn't just his ACL as we all know, that he gets full form back until next year. Good example is Barkley from the Giants, after his knee injury. It took a whole year of just playing and trusting his knee to really get back to form. It is physical but there is also a strong mental component. But my main point is you have to play. I expect the same results for Chase. It is important for him to get reps now IMO. Maybe you start with 14 sequences in the upcoming game. See how he does. I just do not expect him to be fully back until the middle of next year, but you have to play him, to get him there.
  11. It is a point many of us ponder quite often, probably even the coaches. But I can't see Wentz playing any better. Now look at the O line. What a mess. Good thing they have a bye.
  12. I wrote the same thing. That drive saved any thought of reverting back to Wentz. Taylor really pulls those lucky horseshoes out of his ass.
  13. We should have went for the FG period. So now the Giants will get the opportunity.
