Wow! That is unacceptable because you have to evaluate constantly. And let's face it, Carson had what most of us perceived as a solid season in Indy until that last game, with another win or go home scenario against a losing team. Maybe it is asking too much for a coach to be aware, but he already had "choke" in his repertoire. And so coming into a game with the exact same implications, therefore it should have been a very tight leash. BUT then I am listening to Rivera admitting he gaffed on the significance of the loss. He really thought he had next week.

😀😀 Ron fired days ago. Mission Accomplished.😀😄

My point is, yes, every team has some, but you can't have them as the majority of your wins, which Washington seemed to do this year. I just think that sort of winning is unsustainable in the long run. So, we really are an 8-8-1 team, or a 7-8-1 team. -

Absolutely. We won a number of games where I think we just got outplayed and had to rely on these come from behind, last minute wins, against teams like the falcons, colts and bears. And I understand the "win at all costs mentality" but those types of wins are unsustainable. So, in effect., we just regressed to the mean. Think about it. If we had won just one game against the Giants, and the first one was very winnable, we would be playing for something against Dallas. Yesterday, was a combination of the first 5 games for me. Poor coaching decisions. Poor execution. Poor tackling. Porous O line and a QB, that honestly looks like he is mentally shot. Like he has PTSD or something. Wentz is done. -
I agree with you. They are not going to can Ron. It will not happen. It is clear that Carson is done. And I work with people with trauma for a living, and Carson has it in his body big time. Tense as can be. Rigid body. But people saying Ron was wrong to pick Carson, should look at his stats last year and some of his games. He was not awful by a long shot, BUT he folded in the biggest moment, when the chips were down. That was an overlooked "intangible" that all good QB's need/have, and Irsay's crew decided that when they evaluated him. And you know what? They were right.

Are you saying Heinike did not have to deal with an injury ridden O line, when he started his win streak? You think Philly has a better defense than San Fran? And just thinking about it, Dak Prescott had his way with the Philadelphia, pass defense. That is a lot of points he put up against them. -

Again, just watching him, he seemed to get the ball out quicker, then other times I have watched him, where he literally just looked like a statue, seemingly unable to avoid them. He moved up in the pocket yesterday and had a quicker release. You're not suggesting they start Heinike are you? -

Great write up Coach. I was reeling after that first half. To get all the way down to the 1-yard line and not get in? You kind of knew that was going to come back to bite us in the ass. But the play I disliked the most was going for it on 4th and 1. I mean I liked the idea of it, but not against the number one D in the league. Heinike played super well I thought in the first half, and while I do not fault him so much for the fumble, because our O line is, way below average, might even be overachieving in spots, it was that awful INT that sealed our fate. I knew it was over. I am shocked that we still have a chance to get into the playoffs. Can we win the next two with Wentz? I think we have a better opportunity with him then Heinke. Wentz got the ball out quickly, and his throws had some power. -

Really? Well you fooled me. Not that Carson is the answer. I don't think the answer is on the roster but at least with Wentz you have an NFL caliber starter. -

Stop it. Heinike is not an NFL starting QB. He is a decent backup. We got more out of him then I thought they would. He has poor pocket awareness; he is reckless at times with the football when he is under pressure, and he just does not have the type of arm strength needed to make throws to receivers in stride, for extra yards, etc. -

Let's put in Howell for the rest of the game. Let him get some reps. Game is over. Heinous showed up. As soon as we were saying he was playing "okay" he fumbles, and then throws an INT. -

As much as I am NOT a Heinike fan, he is having a solid game. The play calling has been ridiculous. -
