  1. This would definitely be optimal, and the loss of 100 would be well worth getting a OT we covet.
  2. I’m fine with taking two OTs as long as one of them as some positional flex to compete at guard.
  3. I’m confused, the opposite of what Schefter was reporting below would be that the trade WAS happening, and it did. So wasn’t SearsTower correct?
  4. With our needs at CB, and assuming we will be playing more press-man coverage (bigger, longer armed and physical CB). Any thoughts on a few CBs who would seem to fit? Here are some guys I read about that would seem to be a fit if we are looking for that type of player: Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Missouri T.J. Tampa, Iowa State Jarvis Brownlee Jr., Louisville Cam Hart, Notre Dame Khyree Jackson, Oregon
  5. @RWJ posted a great video from 2022. Would seem he is a starting press man corner. Not sure what happened last year, whether he is aging early, scheme change, etc. but if we play to his strengths and he operates in that role he should start for us (how well he does remains to be seen).
  6. I’m fine with trading up to attack LT but I think I would prefer trading a mid round pick for Bolles if Denver makes him available and taking more of a developmental LT in the 3rd.
  7. Agree, he’s awesome no doubt but big time #1 WRs can be huge pains in the ass and if our rookie struggles initially we don’t need that WR in his ear or getting disgruntled. If the rookie QB hits big then a lot of FA WRs will want to come here and we can sign whoever we want or try and trade for a guy.
  8. Not a lot of Mariotta videos from last year out there lol. He didn’t play. But in preseason he still looks very fast. I don’t want him getting on the field next year but I still thought it was worth sharing. https://www.nfl.com/videos/marcus-mariota-shows-speed-on-14-yard-run-for-first-down
  9. Agree. I watched his college “highlights” which include pass breakups that could have been picks, not locating the ball in the air, and a kick return. Doesn’t look like a good CB, honestly. But as a ST guy? Sure, he’s a big time gunner, and maybe he improves.
  10. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we took two OTs and let them compete at OT and guard.
  11. Eh if that’s what it took I’m not sure. That plus a big contract is a lot to swallow for this team right now, and we don’t know anything about the guy or how he wouldn’t fit on the team (lack of familiarity with coaches, etc. true mercenary). It’s a good trade for the Colts where they are but I’m not sure I would have loved it if we made that same move and big extension.
  12. Plays nothing like McNabb (or Russell) guys that ran around and made time to make throws. It’s no pressure, clean pocket, throws to wide open guys on the perimeter not in tight window, or escaping pressure eyes not downfield for throws and running up the middle. I’ve seen the one highlight where he looks like he has the capability, so no need to link to that one throw.
  13. This thread can be painful and then @Going Commando @Voice_of_Reason @Conn and others come through with Maye defense/ JD take downs that make me smile. Bravo.
  14. The only way I like the move is if their evaluation of the QBs has them liking Bo Nix or something and not liking the consensus top guys. But it would be pretty shocking, and I think it would be terrible.
  15. Makes a ton of sense for both sides, assuming Denver approached him about an extension and he isn’t interested. He has a big cap hit. I would definitely check in with Denver. If they are amenable to a trade then we could reach out and try and figure out an extension for him with his agent. I would probably trade a 5th or 6th rounder or some sort of pick swap. I actually thought we might trade Howell there.
  16. I agree with you. Any concern that he hasn’t been weighed or measured? What height/ weight is disqualifying for you to not want him to play for our team? At 6’3 1/2 or 6’4 what is the minimum weight you think he needs to be? And being that his is already 23, and played football at a powerhouse program, how much more weight, if any, do you think he can gain?
  17. But he didn’t say that. Who are you feeling the need to “remind” that arm strength isn’t the most important thing?
  18. Yeah we need a starting CB- if you can get one you like who is young on a LTD makes tons of sense. For them, probably tried to extend but he wants to go to FA or asking for more than they want to pay. We have the cash to extend on a LTD with nice bonus this year.
  19. Yes. Unless they like a QB later if they like one of the big 4 no guarantee they get the one they like. If they traded with us, they can be more sure.
  20. Trading up to draft him and also signing Smith would be perfect for me. Fashanu is only 21 and needs work as a run blocker apparently but the tools (even if they aren’t top end elite) are there to be a good starting LT.
