  1. Y’all are nuts, I want my team and culture to expect and demand winning. Period. Screw tanking for a damn draft pick. Just win baby!
  2. You guys begging for a loss are crazy. I absolutely hope we beat the Jets today, San Fran next week, and hope we mash Dallas so they lose in the playoffs. You don’t have to pick 2nd to get a QB.
  3. Welp, might as well come in here and complain with the likes of ya’! what’s happening fellas…
  4. I use it too, but every time I see facetious spelled it mesmerizes my brain. Looks like ‘face-time-us’…
  5. I disagree wholeheartedly. This team is about as poorly coached as any professional sports team can be. Not that a rebuild isn’t needed, but the cupboard isn’t exactly bare. We have decent enough talent to be competitive, and it’s starts up front. The offensive line we all know is poor and losing our two starting defensive ends definitely made a big difference on defense. If we had a great offensive mind with just a good offensive line and a good tightend with our current wideouts and backs, that’s a middle of the pack offense at worst. Look around the league, there are teams with worse skill players than us. Same on defense. Give me a scheme that doesn’t give up big plays and busted coverage and we’re also middle of pack, hell I’d take Lovie Smiths Tampa 2 over this crap cause it’s gonna make you drink and dunk all day. We’ve got talent minus a true defensive end and a couple of NFL backers. This is coaching malpractice we’re watching and a lost locker room about 8 weeks ago. Guys were playing hard early in the season, now theyre waiting for that trip to Cancun.
  6. It really is crazy how the league works, I’d argue Sam has looked much better than his rookie contemporaries like say a Bryce Young or Pickett in Pittsburgh, but his draft status does matter. He has to prove he can play beyond all doubt while a first rounder has to prove that he can’t. If you’re not 6’5” 230 GMs just aren’t gonna put their job on the line for you, period, but they will if you are and suck. See Carson Wentz… I really think Sam can be the guy but he’s probably not gonna get the opportunity. Watching the Colts yesterday I couldn’t help but think that Gardner Minshew could be the guy. He’s got a good enough arm, can play, has moxie, but no GM is gonna gamble on Gardner Minshew. It’s just how football is, QBs have to be the best looking guy on the field / best athlete, big tall with pedigree, if not you’re just a placeholder until they find that guy who looks the part…
  7. At my daughters dance recital today, sounds like what I’m watching is better!
  8. Couldn’t agree more. Feels like we’re in that Trent Green category again, where we’re not happy with what we have. If we don’t build the roster, any QB is gonna look bad, see Carolina…
  9. ^^ I agree VoR, the best organizations have a synergy, a collaborative approach. For instance, Lynch / Shanahan work because they’ve got a genius play caller and the personnel to match. Plus it helps that Shanahans system is QB friendly. That makes Lynch’s job as GM a helluva lot easier than most teams. The best organizations have a unified top down approach where everyone’s voice is heard and evidence based decisions are priority. From the scouting department to the training staff to the coach, GM, and owner. And QB is the key, without the QB it really doesn’t matter. That’s why we’re split as fans about Howell, because he feels like a bird in the hand but the other half wants the 2 birds in the bush. I’ve seen enough to know I’ve already caught a pretty bird… I don’t need a bird of paradise to be happy after the last 30 years of QB purgatory.
  10. Signing Wylie and that offensive line accomplished the task of ending the Rivera era. Similar to the booing of Tanya last year. So cheers, a new day is near!
  11. Exactly, have to understand where the lanes are and attack there. In the second pic weak side has 2 lineman hand in dirt and a backer 7 off, you’ve got numbers. Couple of combo blocks up to 2nd level and take 3-5 with a chance BRob makes a guy miss and gets 10-15. Running is scheme and mismatches. That’s a nickel front, gotta eat there. When they creep up you take shots behind the linebackers.
  12. Got to keep a team honest, safeties back, corners back, linebackers on their heels pre-snap says pass anticipation. Gotta pound that look. That’s a 5 man front with backers 7 off leaning back. Run look every time and we still pass. I’ve been a staunch EB supporter due to his development of Sam but his refusal to run the rock, a foundational element of football, is why I’m done. You HAVE to run the football. plus the league pendulum is swinging back to center again with respect to running being more effective. Teams spend resources and time scheming against the pass that defensive personnel are smaller and faster to combat the pass, making it advantageous to run against these smaller fronts. And I’m not talking 1995 Lions / Cowboys 35 times a game. It absolutely pays to be somewhat balanced to keep defenses off guard, and we STILL don’t do it. and when we do it’s actually pretty effective. BRob coming down hill is a nightmare for smallish linebackers and corners. What top teams in football don’t run the ball consistently…? I can’t think of any.
  13. Not trying to be a homer, but I tend to agree. While Herbert in LA in SoFi stadium is certainly tempting, the cupboard is far from bare in DC. I’d argue Howell is just as good as Herbert (minus the size), I’m coaching in the Nation’s capital, under a great owner who will trust my process, historic franchise and fan base, with unlimited resources, add draft capital and cap space to start fast… and a stadium to build…. Not sure the Charger job is better…
  14. To me, it’s more bizarre that with all the medical technology in society, people still somehow believe health science in general isn’t a thing. We as men especially should be getting all the checks and exams possible for health, wellness, and longevity. I have great insurance and USE it! Had my physical Friday! Not excited about Dr. Knuckles at 45 next year, but that’s a future me problem… Professional athletes have the best doctors available, period. Nutritionists, sports medicine practitioners, MDs, surgeons, all working for the athlete’s well being because a billionaire’s bottom line is that important. To think it’s a gimmick or luck is just silly in 2023. The best organizations find every edge possible and exploit it. Gourmet chefs, hyperbaric chambers, massage therapists, state of the art exercise equipment, etc… should be readily available if you want your team to win, so injuries should not be a surprise when your facilities are graded an F-. I hate Dallas, but Jerruh spares no expense trying to help his team win. I’m just hoping Harris does the same.
  15. But doesn’t that mean we’d be closer to hiring Belichick as our coach per rumor mill? Which i’d loathe…
