  1. More than that, I believe orgs need a philosophy in general. What’s the goal? What type of team are you building. For example, Ron and EB wanted to throw the ball 50 times a game, but you don’t have lineman to pass block 50 times a game. Where’s the pure space catching back. Where’s the YAC receiver and tight end. We have bruising downhill backs. But bruising backs need big man movers up front. Don’t have that either. Offensive cohesion was a mess. Can’t coach that, have to build it right first then scheme it up on Sundays. That’s what I’m hoping for between GM and coach…
  2. That’s pretty big news. If Chargers want Jim then BJ’s almost a lock for us. Easily the 2 best jobs openings on the market. I don’t think it’s close. Vegas wants Pierce, as they should, he was excellent. Seattle is the next best option imo. Do you like the QB situation there if you’re a hit coordinator? Not sure, but that’s a great place to live and coach.
  3. I think we have plenty of evidence of what he plans to do. Just do a quick research of the last 10 years worth of drafts and FA moves he has been a part of and especially his latest stint in San Fran. That’ll tell you a lot. The difference now is he IS TOTALLY in charge of it. I think the philosophy in San Fran was a group effort between Peters, Lynch, and Shanahan. Peters’ group does the scouting, research, and grades which translates into a big board that’s juxtaposed into ultimate player rankings per the needs of the team v. athletic ability/ potential. From what I’ve always heard, that’s how you do it. This process also answers the chicken or egg question of best available v. need based drafting. Then the group makes the final call during draft day with one person having absolute final say; building trust amongst the team and establishing culture throughout the organization.
  4. Interesting thought. Kraft has been loyal as an owner, but he's had Bill and Brady equating 6 championships. Not hard to support that level of success. I wonder what his patience threshold will be now that the dynasty is over. Almost feels like an unknown. I doubt he's Tepper, but is he Rooney family loyal? I'd guess if you've had previous dealings with him personally it may be a solid job to consider with complete control of ops... Every seat in the league gets hot if you don't win.
  5. Bring back Sonny too. I used to love when my dad would turn the sound down and watch the game with the radio broadcast on. Good times…
  6. I’m completely onboard. Took the family to the Cardinal game earlier this season. Harris and group seem like real pros. Adults running the show. The difference is night and day. Got an email a week ago following up on my game day experience, wanted feedback. Real person with an email and phone number so I can schedule group outings. Wearing my gear again, it’s great! Just happy to be able to cheer my boys!
  7. Yeah I’m stoked about a real off-season, reminds of long nights and us tracking Dan’s jet during the Mark Carrier Bruce Smith years, but this time it’s real!
  8. Agree wholeheartedly. He had some horrific games and he had some good games. AJ Brown took his bike and his lunch money, but our idiot coaching staff lined him up in press man on an island against the best wideout in the game, wtf...? PFF doesn't tell you our coaches were idiots, they just post a grade that says week 9: He sucked. If you're anti Player A - post worst games. If you're pro - post best games. The truth is somewhere in the middle after discarding the outliers. But I'm the crazy guy today! Edit: Thanks for posting, I don't have a PFF subscription.
  9. Not sure what we're arguing anymore or why it's important for you to make me believe Forbes is the worst corner in football which is what "we" (you, Renegade7, and BatteredFan) believe. He's not. As a metric guy, I've come to learn metrics can tell you anything you want them to. We call them chicken metrics. PFF metrics aren't the be all end all, they will give you some valuable information and some that's irrelevant. Context matters. I've seen Forbes get toasted this year, as have you, and I've seen him makes plays, as have you. He's not the worst corner in the league, he's not the worst corner on the roster. Did you see Bradberry yesterday!? The problem is he's an average corner drafted in the first round on a historically bad and poorly coached defense. His draft status makes it feel worse, but if he was a 4th round pick we wouldn't be talking about him at all. That's the heartburn, and causes fans not to see the obvious, that he IS an NFL corner. That's my stance, simple as that, and he shouldn't be cut or traded as he's a rookie under a 1st round contract, that was implied so I replied counter to. We agree he has potential, so not sure what "we" are arguing or why you're so butt hurt over Emannuel Forbes (or my pragmatic perspective) with all the other great stuff to talk about today?
  10. Football acumen is exactly what you questioned when you responded to one of my posts where I explain Forbes is an average corner. You disagree, ok. You’ve provided no facts, we’re both subjective. You see stink, I see average / above average with terrible coaching and don’t think he should be cut, which Renegage7 was implying. My stance / defense of Forbes seems to bother you. Not sure why, guess you’re battered indeed. Facts are he will be on the roster next camp and playing next Fall. All else tbd…
  11. Yeah I’ve seen that, but I heard (can’t remember where exactly now) that it’s really north of 60M. I’ll have to dig to find the article I read. But thanks for some objectivity.
  12. You must only watch Commanders football and Jalen Ramsey type highlights. Guys like Forbes are literally what NFL corners look like. It’s probably the hardest position to play in pro sports minus QB. Every highlight you see on SportsCenter is a corner getting roasted and every franchise’s fan hate their 2nd and 3rd corner. And we had some of the worst coaching and 0 pass rush. But you think he should be Leon Sandcastle!
  13. Ok, agree to disagree, but E. Forbes will be in camp next fall and playing football for the Commanders next season. If not I’ll come in and admit i was wrong. Same with Jamin. We have roughly 60M in cap space and roughly 8 picks in the draft. Some of that money has to re-sign guys we’d like to keep e.g. Curl How many holes do you think 60M fills? Presently We need: 2 DE, 2 LB, 2CB, 1SS, 3OL, 1TE, 1RB, 1WR, and 1QB. But you want to cut a bunch of guys too creating more holes to fill? Not on board with that! We are not an expansion team.
  14. Plainly, he’s an average to above average NFL corner at this point in his young career. I think our glasses are a bit rose colored so he’s obviously the worst corner ever to play football and should quit or we should cut him immediately. I get it, we didn’t like the pick last spring, and he’s not Sauce Gardner, but he does check the box of NFL corner = human being capable of running fast and mimicking NFL wide receiver movements ~80% of the time. That equates to him staying on the roster as he’s under contract. Not sure why some of you guys are losing your minds by my stating the obvious… Id like to see a competent defensive coordinator and scheme with current personnel before we cut bait, but folks are foaming at the mouth. Patience Daniel Son.
