  1. Obviously the practice facility is too small to contain the lasers Maye is about to throw with his howitzer. The ceiling is way too low! He’s gonna knock the I beams down! Idiots…🧐
  2. I’m ready for wait to be over and we know who we have so we can argue more about who was right and wrong 😑. I kid, I’m really excited to be a fan again and anticipate going to training camp so I can sit in the hot sun, and fuss and cheer them on like an old man!
  3. Steve Young? Patrick MaHomes? Russell Wilson? Supreme athletes indeed! And the list is long of almost “winners” if your definition of winner equates to Super Bowl or bust.
  4. I like the approach, but I think we've brought in enough edge help already to not spend more draft resources there. I think they still need interior OL help. Great guards can be found in the 3rd round. I think the LT / CB need may reduce how far we can stretch those picks. I'm leaning towards AP trading back in the 2nd to get more picks (maybe another 3rd / 4th), but that may hurt the quality of the LT / CB prospect we're able to get. Not sure how he does it.... It's the only thing that still makes me nervous. It's vital we have a quality starter protecting the rookie's blind side, and I'm not a fan of the corners we have currently. In theory, I'd like LT, CB in the 2nd; guard, TE, WR in the 3rd. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it feels like we'll need to trade up to get a good LT, which I don't want to do. I dunno.
  5. Interesting take from Hasslebeck on Drake Maye. Measured perspective that he thinks Maye is by far the best prospect in the draft and Maye is a top prospect for the decade. Wondering if NFL GMs agree and we may have to select between Williams and Daniels.
  6. People in general don’t like being seen as “not knowing.” It’s one of the dumbest things to me. If you don’t know, say you don’t, then learning can begin, as opposed to silent ignorance. Some of my greatest lessons came from admitting I didn’t know. But that’s the value of true leadership in the locker room. A leader like Wagner will naturally attract guys to learn and be better, I expect he will demand accountability not only thru action, but be vocal about it. My best mentors are like that, helped me reach levels I didn’t know possible. I’m really excited for my boys!
  7. The more I think about it, I don’t think paying the high end guys is the plan, nor should it be. There should be some responsibility from the coaching staff to “coach em up.” Players should be developed and groomed into the “all-pro” players we covet. We’ve brought in culture builders, tone setters, that the younger guys should aspire to. Peters is doing his job as GM, Quinn and his staff have to do the other half, player development. Think I’ll go to training camp this summer, should be some chirping and helmets popping!
  8. One word, COMPETITION! You're going to see guys flying around with their hair on fire and a coaching staff and FO that coaches players up and also holds them accountable. You produce, reward. Loaf, there's the door. Guys are breaking the door down to get to the nation's capital, so players NOW know, they are indeed replaceable. And this defense is player friendly which equates to a big payday, whether in Washington or around the league. Plus, money is being pumped into the stadium and player facilities. We're basically an expansion team with respected football minds. Question is still Kingsbury, the rookie QB (& LT), and the offense. Hopefully, both Daniels and Maye are both franchise QBs so whichever we choose, will be the legit face of the franchise.
  9. Trying to do something else these last few days is almost impossible. Slacking at work, unproductive at home, hobbies back burner… guess I gotta let go eh!? Let it flow thru my veins… like nicotine.
  10. I hear you, but the timing isn't there yet. We're in a rebuild (recalibrate-same thing) so there's no need to spend top of the market money on any one player. You wait until you see where you are after this season and most likely year 3. Then you add blue-chip free agents to supplement. I'd assume we're looking to draft blue chippers, teach the new scheme, create a culture, then swing for the fences. We're nowhere close for that yet. Plus, why would a blue-chip FA choose to come here now? They'd likely be looking for a team ascending, with playoff vibes. A Danielle Hunter type wouldn't necessarily have Washington at the top of his list, even though we're under new management.
  11. Dude, fans would riot. Imagine 100K fans in Minnesota finding out gameday Kirk went to Atlanta and the new starting QB is Sam Darnold, with fireworks going off. I'd pay to see that debacle...
  12. How about I make you a ham sandwich and we draft a running back with the second 2nd or first 3rd round pick. Boar’s Head piled high…I’ll even put the toothpick thru it with the pickle! Well, dangit!? Get your own dang sandwich! We signed him!
  13. I don’t think that can be overstated. A team should do any and everything to facilitate the growth and development of a young QB. Spare no expense. Oline, backs, tight ends, wideouts. But teams routinely don’t, it baffles me every year how these smart personnel guys trot a young QB out with a suspect line and no weapons with their jobs on the line, and are then surprised when they get fired. Rivera did it last year when his job was obviously in the crosshairs. Lunacy!
  14. The difference is night and day. The Quinn hire is growing on me too. Between Peters’ GM experience and Quinn assembling a world class staff, I’m not sure a first year head coach could’ve done better. And I know what we’re getting on the defensive side of the football. The jury is still out on Kingsbury and the offense. I bet most of the draft capital is spent on offense supporting the young QB.
