HA! Yo! So what are YOU hearing about vaccines at the Berglund Center? We got appointments online, but now they're saying it's only for second doses, but we have a confirmed appointment... 😕

Anyone in the Roanoke/NRV area? My wife and I just got an email from a friend saying they opened a mass vaccination event at the Berglund Center for 3/3. According to them, they're doing 1b (which we qualify for), but with the cluster**** that the information has been, are they suddenly going to say it's 65 and older suddenly? I wish they would have just put 65 and older in 1a if they're going to be so damn selective which "portion" of 1b you're vaccinating right now. I'm at the point that ANY shot in an arm is a good thing, so why not just do the rest of the phases and let people get them who can get an appointment? My dad is almost sixty and works in a lumber yard with a bunch of anti-masking assholes. That business already took my brother (coworker driving basically drunk in the morning) and I'll be damned if they're going to take another one.

Ahhh, it makes a little bit of sense to me, but personally, I think everyone in 1b should have an equal chance of getting it. I think exposure should be given much greater weight in the phases. Yes, first responders 10000% should be ahead of ALL of us, but with the virus killing everyone regardless of age, why shouldn't a 40 year old grocery store worker be equally as likely to get it as a 65 year old retiree that's been getting groceries delivered and hasn't left their house.

Question about CVS in Virginia? Why are they able to say, "We're only doing 65 and older" when VDH is saying 1b? I don't believe CVS is able to just pick and choose what PART of 1b they're doing right?

My wife and I do alright and while we don’t “need” the $1400 you can be damn sure we’ll spend that ****. If you’re a 1%er then sure, that **** won’t trickle down, but lowering it to not include upper middle or lower upper class is missing out what could be a big influx to the rest of the country.

Side note: was there a reason why higher education wasn't in 1b in Virginia? I work at UVa and have to interact daily with 50+ kids from ALL over the country and not saying K-12 is easier, but at least you know where those kids come from and they sure as hell aren't out on Fridays and Saturdays mixing it up with each other (that I know of lol).

This is mostly how I see these assholes. It's like they're just DYING to use their second amendment rights to kill someone. I swear, the internet right now is hard on anyone's mental health reading our elected leaders openly supporting this type of ****.

Sure seems like you'd at least have some semblance of a plan when you are literally willing to murder people.

I think the vaccine priority should be a balance of risk vs. exposure. I think a teacher being exposed daily should have a higher priority than someone living isolated at home even if they are older. There’s no 100% answer, but those two factors should come into play after all first responders and health care workers get theirs first.

Ahh, thanks! Maybe it was the smoker temp that was the problem. Wondering if I've been running way lower than I thought! I'll give that a go. Thanks for the advice!

Question for all you meat smokers out there: finally took the plunge and bought a decent electric (don't judge, it's my gateway ) smoker. Have had a lot of success in my first smokes doing pork tenderloins, chicken thighs, etc. The other day I said, hey, let's up the game and try a smaller pork butt. Did about 3 lbs. of butt and let it go at 225 for around four hours. The instructions I read were for a 8-10, so I figured a quarter of the time right? Wrong. After four hours I was only looking at 90 degrees internal temp. What did I do wrong? Thanks for any advice!

So apparently I can’t watch live this series either. Game tied 2-2 when my wife and I moved to bed to watch the rest. Brushing teeth, laying down... boom 5-2. Didn’t watch another second of the live broadcast until I was sure the game is over. I’m literally DVRing this whole series so I can rewatch it since my superstitions are a tangible thing!

Fear not. I'm keeping up with my superstition and won't be watching updates except online. If the game SEEMS out of reach I MIGHT flip it over. That being said, I did watch every second of the previous series, sooo.

No, it's my fault. The entire Cards series I've been getting the score SOLEY by reactions here and watching the updates on ESPN. The second I turned the game over the Cards scored those runs. I guess I can't watch the WS live.
