  1. Bucs need an ilb, and I was hoping one of gray/colson/trotter would make it to me. Nope.
  2. With the 76th pick, Broncos select C Sedrick Van Pran, Georgia. Broncos had a hole at center after Cushenberrys exit, and Denver wants to solidify oline this year to prepare for going all in on rookie QB in next year's draft. Sedrick Van Pran is a scheme-versatile center who has all of the physical tools and intangibles to be a quality NFL starter.” Strengths: Athleticism/range/lateral agility Functional strength High IQ/instincts Scheme-versatile Leader/team captain Concerns: Balance due to over-aggressiveness Inconsistent technique in pass pro https://www.thedraftnetwork.com/2024/01/22/sedrick-van-pran-scouting-report-nfl-draft-2024 @Chump Bailey, you're up.
  3. With the 68th pick, Bucs select S Javon Bullard, Georgia. Bucs staying true to their draft board. FO was a little shook after Christian Haynes got scooped, he would've been perfect at LG. After a moment of silence while listening to Without You by Air Supply, we got right back to work and further shored up the secondary. “Javon Bullard is a tough and instinctive coverage defender with the alignment flexibility needed in today’s NFL.” Strengths: High football IQ Route recognition Ball skills Coverage ability Concerns: Small-ish frame/build Ball production Consistency as a tackler Long speed @KDawg, you're up.
  4. 😂 I'd be pumped if the skins get him in R3!
  5. Ugh I wanted Haynes. Give me a minute to pout and another minute to figure out who I am taking.
  6. With the 57th pick, Bucs select TE Ja'Tavion Sanders, Texas. After a bit of opposing viewpoints in the war room (aka my own head), Bucs decide to go with athletic tight end to help with the passing game. Cade Otton has shown he can be a decent tight end, but Sanders can add another weapon that defenses have to account for. “Ja'Tavion Sanders has shown to be a versatile receiving threat at the tight end position with the ability to make big plays in the vertical passing game.” Strengths: Ability to catch in traffic Plus-level athlete Run-after-catch, tackle-breaking ability Smooth athlete and route-runner Alignment-versatile Concerns: Ability to be an in-line blocker Run blocking Role-specific https://thedraftnetwork.com/2023/12/20/jatavion-sanders-scouting-report-nfl-draft-2024 @PokerPacker, you're up
  7. This is the ES version of ESPN taking a picture of Dallas's draft board in their war room.
  8. I vote to not start the clock until Monday, but people can make picks if they want.
  9. With the 34th pick Bucs select CB Ennis Rakestraw, Mizzou. "Ennis Rakestraw Jr. is an instinctive, sticky man corner whose twitch, length, and press-man ability make life tough for opposing pass-catchers." Strengths: Instincts Man coverage Twitch Football IQ Length Change of direction Concerns: Light frame Open-field tackling Limited ball production https://thedraftnetwork.com/2023/12/20/ennis-rakestraw-jr-scouting-report-nfl-draft-2024 Missouri cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. is among the most competitive and scheme-versatile defensive prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft. Rakestraw Jr. broke out of his shell in 2023 as one of the nation's best-performing cornerbacks ----------- Bucs play a lot of zone, but feel he is a good addition. @goskins10 you're up
  10. It's going to be tough to watch these names come off the board before our 2nd rounder. Hope one we really like is still there.
  11. @clskinsfan@COWBOY-KILLA- Bucs and Patriots agree to a trade: Pats get 26. Bucs get 34 and 68. @goskins10
  12. Not only did he reject my trade offer from the broncos, but he swiped my pick from the bucs.
  13. What time is Brat Fest over today? Just wondering about @PokerPacker s availability.
  14. @PokerPacker you don't want to trade with your division rival bears, you'd rather trade with the AFC broncos. My trade is the one you want.
  15. With the 12th pick, Broncos take TE Brock Bowers. Happy with the value here. “Brock Bowers is a physically gifted pass-catcher. He reminds me of the 49ers' George Kittle and the Lions’ Sam LaPorta.” Strengths: Dominant after the catch Ball skills/contested catches Blend of athleticism and strength Zone-beater Concerns: Route tree Defeating press-man coverage Consistent separation Offensive usage https://www.thedraftnetwork.com/2023/12/28/brock-bowers-scouting-report-nfl-draft-2024 I don't know who to tag for the Raiders pick.
  16. How demoralizing would that be. Ugh. Just when we have hope, we botch a seemingly loaded QB draft at #2 overall. https://media1.giphy.com/media/4nroykNoXV3QQ/giphy.gif?cid=6c09b952j8byhq44cqgcwy2hnb4zo7azfzcr9xfkr5r1tn6z&ep=v1_internal_gif_by_id&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g
  17. This is reminiscent of the smoke that the 9ers were considering Mac Jones at 3 after they traded up. I love the strategy, keep everyone guessing and have conversations with everyone to see what trade packages are offered. I hope they stay at 2 and take their best QB, but it's good to gather Intel and explore every avenue when we are in our current position. Looking at where he is going in online mock drafts is like relying on the groundhog to signal when the weather will start getting warmer.
  18. I wouldn't rule out signing Humphries or trading for bolles etc. I just think Jones didn't make sense, as he is similar to Lucas. Vet backup swing tackle. Ideally, a vet starter becomes available at some point this offseason, then draft starting RT at 36 and 3rd day development OT to compete with Daniels for OT 4.
  19. Terry might not be living up to his current cap number. He doesn't take over games, and he can disappear at times. A 20+ mil WR should have a bigger impact despite the poor QB play. However, I think Terry is perfect for our situation right now. He is a hard worker, with a positive attitude. With so many star Wrs being divas and head cases and me me me, he is the exact opposite. Team first. Does his job without any ****ing and moaning or drawing negative attention to the team. Even at our lowest points, which have been pretty low. His cap hit is not prohibitive to us building our team at all. Over the next couple years, hopefully we are able to add a #1/#2a WR via the draft. That contract will be modest, and Terry's next deal will hopefully be with us for a little less AAV. I can see him wanting to stay here to see the rebirth through. And he will be the perfect #2 wr and mentor to a young WR due to his personality and demeanor. I don't see any team offering us any package that would make it worth sending Terry packing. I'd rather have Terry at his cap number than all 5 wrs you listed for a variety of reasons, most importantly the ones I mentioned above.
  20. I think DJ Humphries may be a possibility. He has the connection to KK, and most of our FA have had connections to someone on our staff. I think the Yosh / Trent B / Corn signings all happening one after another show that multiple teams were looking at that tier of a bargain type OT, someone who can do the job but isn't viewed as a long term answer. I think we needed that situation to sort itself out and sign one of those first before we could sign DJH, because I think Humphries only makes sense if we have a decent temp LT in place while he recovers from the ACL. If corn can hold down the fort until November, dj can take over. A back loaded 3-4 year deal would make sense. Without someone decent as a placeholder, you are throwing in a lesser tier LT into the fire for the rookie QBs debut. No bueno. The fact that they added void years and back loaded some of the bigger contracts shows they still want to spend more money this offseason. While I hope we take an OT in the 2nd, I think that would be a RT, not a LT. I'd rather put that cap space to DJH and feel good about LT for a few years.
