Was this the first time a party in McKinney has ever been broken up? Seriously. Isn't thing basic policing? I imagine a vast majority of people on here have been to a illegal party (location, alcohol, drugs, etc) that was police broke up. In my experience cops never busted in like rambo ready to shoot me. What usually happens is that police show up and everyone runs - just like in this video. That is standard teenage party behavior. The difference is police usually don't give a **** - they have real things to do that is important. Their main goal is to just break up the party and for folks to go home. So they flash their lights and people run away. Done deal. End of story.

I saw this on Twitter and it got a chuckle out of me: America, where a cop who pulls a gun on some kids at the pool gets paid leave, but a woman who gives birth does not.

Built an art nook for my 2 year old daughter. Okay. This isn't an impressive project compared to y'all - but I am a beginner and pretty proud of the final product. Solid wood table found on Craiglist for $15. Cut then refinished and mounted. All in $40 for table, materials, and hanging organizer.

School insurance is very cheap. My wife's plan was a PPO with $500 out of pocket maximum per year. Premium was right around $200 a month. We had our daughter while on that plan. It was amazing. $500 for everything A similar plan on the private maket is almost impossible to find. Even plans with $2,000 out of pocket max are around $500 a month. The rates for spouses and dependents on the plans are wayyyyyy higher. But for actual students it is dirt cheap. Wish we could keep it. :/

I get it through my job. Small company - under 10 people. Work covers my entire premium and is a fairly good plan. I could add her to my insurance and pay the full premium for her, but the premiums are pretty high. Essentially small business plans and individual plans are the same. You do t get a much a discount because not enough people to spread out the costs.

Yea. You can qualify for a "Special Enrollment Period" in a few different ways. Got married, had a baby, lost insurance, lost job, etc.

Wife just finished up graduate school. Her school insurance will be ending next month. She will be unemployed for the next 3 months as she takes tests and waits for licensure from the state before she can legally work. We will most likely be signing up for Obamacare in the next few weeks as a gap until she is employed. She has a pre-existing condition and this would never have been possible just a few years ago. Had this been just 3 years ago we would probably have been paying unaffordable rates or she would have been rejected outright.

My siding is hardiplank. Noticed the other day some fairly large gaps and want to make sure to fix before future water damage. Having done a bit of research, it seems the old way was to caulk butt joints for hardiplank but a few years ago they stopped and suggested that it is installed with flashing. This changed happened a few years ago - right around when my house was built. I am not sure if there is flashing and thus I don't need to do anything, or if there is not and I need to caulk. How is the best way to figure out if there is flashing? I can't really see anything in the gaps that looks shinny like flashing....
