I think I was the lone voice when it came to Howell that said I didn't have any desire to even talk about him until preseason rolled around lol...mainly because I knew nothing about him and had stopped investing time and energy into lower round draft picks with potential. Rather talk about them after they start doing something tangible at the NFL level. -
Why an uninspiring backup?...I'd want a strong backup, one who pushes Howell to be his best and adds competition.

I'm not hiring you, you have no plan lol... We get rid of Wentz and Heinicke, all we have is Howell as the only QB. Last offseason all we had was Heinicke as the only QB. It was basically the same the offseason before that, when all we had was Haskins as the only QB (Smith was still up in the air if he'd ever play again). And the year before that (lol), all we had was Colt McCoy as the only QB. Is that normal?...It doesn't feel as if it is, but maybe so.

True...there are a lot of different directions the story could have branched out in if Howell's first start had been against, say, the Eagles early in the season. Halfway through the game I was thinking maybe we should have just said "Eff it" to this season and used it to develop Howell even if we went 4-13. I would have hated it, of course lol...and we may have ended up causing Howell more damage doing it that way. Just never know.

Was it you who said maybe the better move would have been skipping Wentz, rolling with Heinicke, Howell, and someone like Mariota? Or did a bunch of people on this thread say that? lol...

I think almost every QB can operate a run-heavy offense behind a stout D. But we were hoping for more from him than that...I'm comfortable still waiting, but feel far more optimistic about him than either Wentz or Heinicke.

Can you imagine how much evidence is NOT admissible in court but is front and center in the court of twitter opinion? lol...I mean, what if that recording of Trump asking the dude in Georgia to "find" 11,000 more votes for him ends up not being introduced as evidence because Trump wasn't informed he was being recorded or something?
