  1. Dishwasher install went pretty smoothly except for one snag. The old hole in the cabinet wall for the hot water hose won't work for the new dishwasher. It's not far back enough, so the dishwasher can't be pushed all the way in. Just have to grab a drill bit big enough to do the job tomorrow and I'll be good to go.
  2. $170. That's why I said screw it, I'll do it myself.
  3. I'm planning to pick up a new dishwasher tomorrow and install it. Bought an installation kit and some teflon tape at Home Depot today. I read up on it and watched some videos, seems like a pretty straightforward job for a homeowner with basic tools. Any tips?
  4. I had one fresh and thought it was really good. I love pumpkin flavors (pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, etc.) but I'm usually not a huge fan of pumpkin beer. In Heavy Seas' case I thought it was done well.
  5. I like the look of that project SkinnedAussie. We might steal that idea when we redo our garden next year!
  6. Thanks for tip, I'll fiddle with it more tonight. We have a renter currently in the unit, it's just a cosmetic fix for them. The ceiling is around 12 or 13' high at that spot though, so it's not something she can just do by herself.
  7. Hey handymen folk. My wife and I are renting out our condo and the renter said that the rim around one of the recessed lights in the living room ceiling has come loose. The housing itself seems fine it's just a metal rim that goes around the perimeter of the light where it meets the drywall. How should I go about putting it back in? There doesn't seem to be a point where it will hold itself by friction. Should I drill a small hole and screw it up there? Seems like an ugly fix. Is there some kind of glue I should use? It's a textured ceiling.
  8. Where did you get it? That sounds like my kind of beer.
  9. Yeah I had one of those the other night and though it was pretty good.
  10. Sampled some at his place during the Rams game, it was very good. Nice and hoppy without being off-putting.
  11. While we're at it, from the same thread:
  12. Tried that Flying Dog Barley Wine someone recommended a while back and really enjoyed it.
  13. What's the place? I might be passing through in the next couple weeks.
  14. That's true, they have some things that are forgettable. I also seem to remember their Hefeweizen being a little bit too spiced up for my taste. It was kinda like trying to drink a bottle of potpourri. Overall I like their stuff better than most. (You didn't think potpourri would ever be mentioned in a beer thread, did you?) :pfft: On another note, somebody mentioned Belhaven's a little while back, which is really good stuff. If you like that, try McEwan's Scotch Ale.
  15. I think Flying Dog puts out a lot of really good stuff, especially at their price point. I haven't had a chance to try that one. Part of the problem is that the liquor stores near me don't tend to have a very good selection. They have your typical mid-level beers, but don't stock a lot of the more niche things like barley wines, Scotch Ales, etc. The one store I know of with a pretty good craft beer selection charges through the roof from what I remember. I've only been in there once. If anyone knows of liquor store with a great beer selection in the Northern/Western Baltimore metro area, please throw me a bone.
  16. I saw it was coming, I didn't know it opened already. georgiaredskin, rincewind and I have been bouncing from place to place trying to find a bar where we can watch Skins games that has decent food, reasonably priced beer and a good view of the game. Hopefully the Turtle will work!
  17. Hey man, I didn't realize that was something you'd be pursuing right away when we were talking the other day. Congratulations!
  18. This seems like a strange thread to discuss what's good for your liver.
  19. Why Mexican? I liked Modelo the best out of the Mexican beers I've tried, but that's a very small selection.
  20. He also forget to close one of his sets of parentheses, but why split hairs?
  21. I like that both the reviews were considered generally helpful as well.
  22. But will they learn to put it back down before finding a nice young lady? That's the question.
  23. $5.0? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense for a variety of reasons.
