  1. I don't feel it's an overreaction or over-emotional to say that at all. They got caught out in a numbers game with a much higher number of HC openings than you normally see and weren't adequately prepared. Whether Peters just hadn't been around long enough or whatever... the reasons don't matter. If they come out and say "Quinn (or whomever) was the guy we wanted all this time," I find it exceptionally difficult to believe that.
  2. I don't believe they're sitting on their hands or that Johnson was a bad candidate. His actions the last couple days will likely make anyone think twice about interviewing him for a HC gig... I do believe that. I also believe it was a numbers game, the FO got caught out with the sheer number of openings this cycle versus the amount of guys the really wanted and now they'll have to settle for a retread for the next few years until the true franchise rebuild begins... new stadium, new facilities, new everything... this will take a minute. Admitting that doesn't make anyone over-emotional or anything of the sort. That's just how things are playing out. They got caught out by events and didn't have the "proper" failsafes.
  3. It seemed like a third of the league had new HC's this year. The FO got fixated on a couple guys, one of whom stood them up. The others took more "ready made" gigs. No shady facilities, no janky stadium and no true "ground-up" work, which would be difficult for a new HC trying to learn his own gig. Maybe the job just isn't that attractive, when you factor how much actually needs to be done at every single level. The team will have to settle for a retread for a few years and start all over again once the true foundation has been laid.
  4. I've been several times for work. It's about a five-hour flight from Dulles, so I'm assuming the same from BWI. Seattle is beautiful in June and July, gray and ugly the remaining 10 months, even when not raining LOL! Then he has to avoid homeless encampments, hypodermic syringes on the street... you hear that, Mike MacDonald?!?!? Please don't go!!!!! You're our only hope from Quinn....
  5. I'd rather let this team draw up plays on the ground than have Quinn as the HC. Does that sound Petti Labelle? Yes and I couldn't give a **** less. Choked on his one SB appearance, choked less than a month ago in the playoffs.
  6. McConkey and Bowers were the two best players on Georgia's Offense. No one else was even close.
  7. I remember when Marvin Lewis took the Bengals job, his reasoning that these don't come across often and... if you say no... people don't forget that ****. Be wise to remember that, Johnson.
  8. That play reminds me of Eddie Murphy talking about the father in Poltergeist. "I know my daughter's in the TV... changed the channel, **** didn't work!"
  9. He's still in the category of guys who could throw from the pocket and had athleticism, not necessarily someone whose legs were the primary weapon. He just happens to have lost most of... pretty much everything.
  10. They tend to not get better and the game is faster. Lamar was inaccurate coming out of college and had a rough first season or so before working on it, but he is what he is at the end of the day. Same with Josh Allen, who becomes a turnover machine when things get ugly, which was what he always was.
  11. That doesn't change the fact that a dual-threat QB (which is really just legs first/arms second) has never won a SB. They get figured out when the regular season is over. Lamar was inaccurate as hell yesterday, regardless the playcalling. Why? Because that's what he is. Saying "Well, only one QB can win the Super Bowl every year, so that doesn't mean the others are worthless" doesn't change how the game changes when you're moving on in the post-season. That's exactly what changes as you progress in the post-season. Take out his legs (figuratively) and dare him to beat you otherwise. They've paid him a ton of money now and have to accept he is what he is while trying to be thrifty elsewhere.
  12. This is true, but the "dual threat" guys tend to get boggled down more than not in the moments that matter most. Force them to throw, they take on too much and implode. I look at Goff yesterday. He wasn't at all why Detroit lost. HC left 6 six points on the field and the WR's had key drops at the worst moments. I'd take that skillset with escapability and athleticism over someone whose legs are the primary thing against which teams plan.
  13. You didn't watch him yesterday, did you? Dude sucks in more ways than can be mentioned here before we all wither into nothingness.
  14. I don't care about the past 30 years anymore, I care about the next 30. A QB with his skillset isn't the key. Gets a lot of praise, highlight clips and oohs and aaahs during the regular season, predictably falls apart in the postseason.
  15. It was a response to the '83 NFC Championship game, where there was a real lion on the field... parts of which are still around on Greg Olsen's head.
  16. Does he get a choice of small woodland creature for headwear like Greg Olsen, though?
