  1. Insane. I have no beef with the TO - they've been nothing but nice to me - but this just seems backwards. What seats are these UL upgrades moving to if none of the LL seats have been moved? The only thing I can guess is that folks that haven't renewed.

Keep us posted, if you don't mind. I think I'm going to call the TO (again) and ask when the LL upgrade process will be done.

Many of us on the LL have been upgraded already. People with 4 or more seats together may not have as many opportunities as just two seats together.

Don't know why a few people have been upgraded from UL to LL before the LL has been completed. Could be people who lost UL seats because their seats were removed because of the party decks. They may have been offered LL upgrades as compensation for losing their UL seats.

And it does appear some sideline LL seats are being reserved to entice people to buy club seats. I understand the marketing but still don't like them doing it. Bottom line is the club level is overpriced for the market; that's why they can't sell them.

  2. I dont know if this is true first.... They are still doing UL to LL.... .I still have my seats as last year and the TO told me on Monday that they hadnt gotten to my section... I would be find staying where I am except I have 3 seats in 17,18,19 and then row behind me i have 18...

When I got LL thats all they had was a T of seats so I want all 4 this year together which I think is a simple request, with all the people moving from UL to LL...

Who knows I could be wrong...

I should clarify my comment. First, it applies to people with seats on the lower level, not upper level. I don't think upper level folks should be worried yet based on the reports or lack of reports in this thread. And second, I said "likely not being upgraded". Stuff happens that changes during the upgrade process. For example, l asked to be moved from section 108 to the section 200 level. Since I technically requested a "downgrade", I may have created two open seats because my request would have been handled manually.

    ---------- Post added June-13th-2012 at 09:24 PM ----------

I also received the email stating my seat assignment for this year, so that must mean the lower level upgrades are complete. I'm in 106 and got no upgrade, which is what I thought. I know people on the visitors side (corners) who got upgrades, so I do believe the visitors side makes a difference.

Well that sucks. But I expected fewer LL upgrades because of RG3.

  3. I've heard it from a couple of different ticket office reps over the past few years. Would love confirmation from another season ticket holder if anyone wants to pursue it and ask. Certainly happy to be corrected if anyone gets different info.

Hey it works for me....I was on the wait list for quite some time. This is my tenth year but I was probably on the wait list for another ten years or more. Unfortunately I don't recall. Suppose I could call the TO and find out what my seniority is. Doesn't really matter, though. I'm at the mercy of the TO and the software. Not like I can challenge my seat upgrades.

  4. Absolutely. For the past two years, more UL to LL upgrades have been placed on the visitor end zone to corners than on the home side.

    ---------- Post added June-13th-2012 at 02:41 PM ----------

A small but important edit to the info you're looking to gather: ticket office seniority is tied to the date you entered the season ticket wait list, not the date you first obtained tickets. For some old timers like me, there's a healthy differential between the two.

Interesting if true. Where did you hear this? I've always assumed seniority started from when you got your tickets not when you joined the season wait list. But I never inquired with the TO.

  5. Well just checked online - no upgrades posted yet.... Do we know are they done with LL or is there still a opportunity for further upgrades. I am presently in section 113 and would like to continue my move toward the sideline...

BTW sec 113 for those asking is much better than anything in the upper level....

When you look at your 2012 invoice, are your seats still listed. If the seats are missing and it only shows your parking and shipping costs, then you are being upgraded. If your 2011 seats are still listed in your 2012 invoice, then you are likely not being upgraded.

  6. Second year STH'er just got upgraded to LL.

    Section 113 row 20 seat 11&12.

Has anyone sat in this section? How is it?

End zone seats looking down the visitors sideline. I used to be in section 109 looking down the home sideline. Nothing to block your view. You'll find yourself watching the HD screens when the action is on the other side of the 50 yard line.

My biggest concern is you will gradually be upgraded towards the 50 on the visitor side. More people in general because of the obstructed view seats means more congestion in the bathrooms and vendor areas. Also more visiting team fans. But the view is great.

Moving down from the upper level was the best thing I ever did. Closer to the action and a feeling of being more immersed in the fan involvement. Also, a much quicker get away than waiting for the escalators or walking down the ramps....although singing and cheering while descending the ramps after a victory is still one of my favorite things about FedEx Field....unfortunately, we did not win a lot of home games while I was upstairs. :)

  7. S&S- I'm in 214 row 2 which is the "sister" section to 208 next to you. There are 16 seats in Row 2. Not sure if that's an exact equivalent for your situation but at least it's a guess.

Thanks! I have seats 15 and 16. I thought they might be aisle seats. Can't tell from the interactive maps.

    ---------- Post added June-12th-2012 at 03:35 PM ----------

I'm now in 118, row 25. Does anyone know what end of the sections seat 1 is in 100s

As you face the field, seat 1 will be on your left at the end of the row.

  8. I sat in that area during the Monday Night Massacre after everyone started leaving. lol. Great seats, Sonny and Sam! Congrats, brother!

Thanks, man. I was hoping to move a couple sections but this will do. With a bad knee and hips, having not to stand all game long was a priority for me. I still get up and down during important times but standing all game long was tough last year. fortunately it didn't happen often. I'm hoping I'm on the aisle but don't know how many seats are in that section in row 3. Need to go check out Mark the Homer's FedEx thread.....

  9. w00t my upgrade is in!

    section 117 row 27!

Thats from 422 row 17 last year.

That's a solid upgrade getting put in the corner end zone instead of behind the goal posts. Congrats!

My upgrade has just been posted on my online account also. I am moving from sec 108 row 16 to sec 207 row 3. So I got moved one section closer to the home side. I requested a move to the 200 level. So Skins TO listened to my request. I also asked to be flipped to the other side of the home bench but did not get that request filled. At least I shouldn't have to stand all game long like those in the 100 level along the sidelines.

  10. Maybe this latest battle between VA, DC, and MD for Redskins Park and training camp is setting up a deal where whoever gets the new stadium will have the tax payers pay for it and we won't have to pay for PSL's.

That all depends on the political climate and the politicians in charge at the time the Redskins are looking for a new stadium. The VA governor will be long gone by that time. It's one thing to cough up $4 million for a training facility and another to cough up $1 billion plus for a new stadium. Perhaps if the economy takes off and we all share in the wealth created, then maybe the local/taxpayer opposition won't be as severe. Hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel with our current economy. And as a resident of PA, I have no problems if you taxpayers in VA want to foot the bill for my new stadium. :D

  11. I'm not sure "dumb" is the right word. LIke anything else sold in our economy, you charge what people are willing to pay. Unfortunately, there are enough people willing to pay the ridiculously high season ticket prices (like you and me) and others who are willing to pay for PSLs AND expensive season tickets.

Frankly, it has always bothered me how much professional athletes, rock stars, movie and TV stars make in general. The amounts paid to them are directly paid by their fans. We keep stepping up and volunteering our money to buy tickets, DVDs, movie tickets, etc. After all, the bottom line is that it is just entertainment. Nothing useful is being created or manufactured. Yet we (society) gripes about the salaries of teachers, police officers, CEOs, etc who make us better as a society and make us more useful.

The concept of PSLs is understandable in this day when people are fed up paying higher state and local taxes so that billionaire owners and millionaire players can have a nicer palace to play in. Fans are guilty, too. Fans are always clamoring for a newer better stadium without realizing the consequences of their desire will be to price them out of going to a live game. We have fans here who post all the time about how FedEx Field is a "dump" and the Redskins need to build a new stadium in DC. These posters simply refuse to accept that that kind of cost will mean more money out of their pockets IF they want to attend a game, whether they purchase season tickets or game tickets on the aftermarket. Or it means they get more commercials during the game at home; or higher jersey prices or other team products. Eventually the fan pays in the end. At some point, we collectively need to start saying "no".

Sorry...I'll get off my soapbox now.....

  12. well i think different teams implement it differently but the PSL is just a licensing fee - it's a one time amount, obviously if you spread the payments out over years you may pay interest or service charges or something. but it's a one time fee.

so it's 2k for the right to pay for the tickets. which is absurdly stupid. NFL teams are showing how dumb they think we are - that we should pay an additional 2k for the right to pay for the seats.

they're spinning it as an investment - one day you can sell your license to someone when you're ready to give up your tickets, and you can make money. but there's absolutely no evidence to back up the idea that PSL's will be worth more in the future (to be honest there's not any real hard evidence they wont be worth more either)

furthermore, in addition to paying for the PSL you have to continually pay for your seats to keep them. so you can't take a year off and retain your license. first year you don't pay for your tickets you lose your license.

it's a ticket increase. plain and simple. the alleged benefits are non-existent or a joke to believe in.

Who's really "dumb"? Must be over a dozen teams now that have required PSLs and fans have bought the PSLs to help finance the new stadiums. SOME of us may not be so dumb to fork over $2,000 to $150,000 just for the privilege of buying season tickets but most (all?) of the teams that require a PSL are sold out. Jets might be the exception. They were having great difficulty last year sell all their PSLs. Still plenty of "dumb" fans around willing to pay all that extra money for seats to a live football game.

The only way PSLs will disappear is when enough fans say "NO" and refuse to purchase a PSL. Giants and Jets had some difficulty with their stadium PSL sale last year. It will be interesting to see if the San Francisco fans are willing to pay that much to "support" their team.

  13. If PSLs ever show up in DC, count me as a long time season ticket holder who will give up his seats. My entertainment budget is tapped out at the current prices. I already have a hard time justifying the expense considering the product on the field for the past 20 years. I've been hoping for ten years for the team to finally turn it around and it has not happened. Maybe I would go to a couple games buying on the aftermarket; or maybe not. Maybe I just buy a bigger plasma screen and a better sound system. NFL needs to tread lightly. People can only afford so much to attend games. Many teams could not sell out last year and others either have had a hard time selling seats or are faking/buying up seats they can not sell at list price.

As for the 49ers....I will be shocked if they can sell out their stadium at the new prices.

  14. This has turned into a Debbie downer thread this year. A lot of movement in past years but it feels like RG3 has shut it down this year. Was hoping I could get upgraded into the 30-50 yard line LL section before we got good enough to where folks would always renew.

Too early to get down. None of the upgrades have been posted yet.

  15. I'm the crazy guy who came down from Section 401. Best Wishes for a Happy Upgrade to you.

You'll be happy you moved down. With the HD screens, sitting in the end zone is not as awful as it used to be. I love the atmosphere. I moved down two years ago. Loved it from the first game. Much better than the upper deck for a host of reasons.

  16. Auto upgrades have begun---my completed invoice shows me in Section 110 Row 19!

    Hail!

Congrats. What section were you in? 111?

My seats have disappeared from my invoice. But no upgrade yet. I'm in section 108. Probably won't find out until next week what my new seats will be.....damn....

  17. So if everybody in Gray is upgraded to Green B3 or Green - is that possible?? Where WAS the staff lot? I saw one game where a bunch of them got off a bus next to the stadium.

I think it will be a HUGE mistake to allow B3 to come in any exit they want.

Well, B-3 parking has always come in either Morgan Blvd or Arena Drive in the past. I don't see how they can let them come down Redskins Road. They would have to escort them around the circle or I suppose through the PG Sports Arena parking lots like they have in the past for overflow parking. It just seems like it is going to be very difficult to force Green B-3 passes to bypass all the Green parking lot areas and park in only Green B-3. Seems like it would be a little easier if it was a different color pass.

I always thought most staff was bussed in anyway. I have to assume a lot of those "empty" seats had green parking passes at some point. The turnover over the past couple years must have been large enough to upgrade everyone in the gray lot.

    ---------- Post added May-28th-2012 at 10:59 AM ----------

    Shhhhhhhh. Geez, bro... lol

:ols: Yeah, I know...I debated whether to add that last part when I posted. Figured there aren't that many on Extremeskins to make the difference. Most folks on here don't have season tickets or even go to the games anymore.

  18. By the way, I confirmed today that there is no more gray lot. If you are unhappy with the B-3 "upgrade" you will not have the option to stay in gray according to TO. They said that would be a staff lot from now on.

Wow....no more gray lot. That means quite a few people got significant upgrades into green parking. Between the reduced number of seats in the upper level and moving staff to the gray lot should help to reduce traffic, particularly on the Redskins Road exit. Skins seem to be trying to move more traffic via Morgan Blvd.....which sucks for me.....Morgan Blvd is the best kept secret at FedEx Field.

Is that confirmation from the ticket office?

  19. So I called the TO... they noted my account... He said actually alot of folks request to be on the visitor side because of the sun and how it sets... Doesnt shock me... but he said its alot of folks... I am not sure if I buy that or not......

It isnt that bad of a deal, being in 130 I am closer to sideline, so we shall see what happens if I get bumped over this year or not :)

There are pros and cons to each side. In the winter, the visitor side is in the sun and is MUCH warmer than the shade on the home side. I've sat in both. On the other hand, hot days of August and September can be brutal in the sun. A few years ago, folks at the first September home game were dropping like flies of heat exhaustion and dehydration when the temp soared over 90 F.

The big concern by folks in the lower level visitor side are all the obstructed view seats create more congestion in the bathrooms and food/drink stands....just more crowded. And of course, you are more likely to sit by large groups of visiting fans.

I would think there are more regular long time fans on the home side so fewer openings and less opportunity for an upgrade. With all the visiting fans on the visitor side over the years, I have to believe those seats either turnover more quickly and/or are owned by brokers. Both more likely to affect demand IMHO.

Enjoy your seats! This season should at least be exciting with RG3 on the field. Hopefully, we see more wins, too.

Everyone has different priorities of what is important about seat location. You just have to make your own decision.

  20. I don't know how difficult it is once you're already on the visitor sidelines, but what I would recommend is you make it known in your upgrade notes that you prefer to be on the redskins side so they mvoe you out of the endzone in that direction to start with.

Hopefully someone else can give you some more information on that. You may want to call the ticket office. If you do please report back here with the answer :)

    Chess,

Tshile's answer is correct. I would add as a clarification that you MUST call the ticket office and ask them to add a note to your account that you want to be moved to the home side of the field. You cannot do that as part of your online auto upgrade process. When I moved down to the lower level two years ago, I had already placed a note on my account to be put on the home side and got placed on the home side end zone while almost everyone who moved down that year reported being placed closer to the visitor side or center end zone.

This year I am asking to be "downgraded" to the 200 level. We see if it works. The TO agent will tell you they cannot guarantee anything.

  21. Hello everyone. I have read comments on Extremeskins for years now and just joined. What a great site for information, amongst allot of other things. Not sure I am posting this correctly, so forgive me as I am new. Anyway, I have a 400 level upgrade question. Does anyone know if the first row in section 429 is truly called the 1st row or 4th row by the Redskins TO? I ask because 429 does not have the first section of 3 rows in front due to the hadicapped seats.

Thanks to anyone helping me out with the answer.

Good question. I would think the 1st row of actual seats would be the 4th row on the tickets. But your question would be best directed to the ticket office.
