  1. I'm moving down to LL end zone this year. I'm assuming they'll have me in one of the last rows since this is my first year in the LL. Anyone have LL end zone seats? What do you like/dislike about them?

One thing I'm happy about is not having to deal with walking up the ramp to the UL.

Moving to the lower level was the best thing I ever did. More energy. Feel more part of the game atmosphere. Close to the action. Fast getaway after the game. The HD screens compensate a lot when action is on the other side of the 50 yard line. And when the Skins are coming at you the view can be awesome.

I started in row 14. Some have reported being moved as low as row 4. Some got moved to the 200 level that many of us believe are the best seats in the house. So you could go most anywhere.

  2. Are you upgrading at all SaS? Or do you get the same seats every year?

I try to upgrade each year. I'm in section 108 now. Was in section 109. And before that in section 424.

    ---------- Post added May-3rd-2012 at 07:07 PM ----------

I can see parking, processing fee, and s&h.

i could see everything before I called to take them up on the offer to move to lower level.

i was the moved into a 'TBD' section according to the guy on the phone.

i think the bottom line is, as you stated, the software is quirky. my understanding is that the seats disappearing means the upgrade is going on. but... we're probably going to find out last week or may/first week of june where people in the lower level are. if i remember correctly they did the entire lower level last year, and then like a week later the upper level. but my memory isn't the greatest so i may be making that up :)

Nope...you're right. They start with the LL then work their way up top. I think it was more like mid-June I found out last year but I could be wrong. I'd have to go look for my post about a year ago in this thread.

  3. They are working on upgrades. they told me on the phone it would be may and we should all know sometime in may, early june what our new assignments are.

I don't know anything about the link being gone, but you can still log into your account by going to redskins.com/myaccount

thats how i always log in so i wouldn't even notice the link being gone.

My seating assignment has disappeared from my invoice for 2012. The understanding that I have is that means upgrades in progress.

Interesting.....Now that I have paid my final installment payment, I can now see my seats and parking on my invoice. This TicketMaster account software is quirky.

  4. Did anyone else get this email this afternoon? I've been a STH for only one year and was surprised to get offered an upgrade to the LL End Zone. It was an extra $440 for 2 seats so I went ahead and did it. Hopefully I didnt get bamboozled into some whack obstructed view seats in the 200 level.

Thank you for renewing your 2012 Washington Redskins season tickets. Great news! We have begun our annual Auto Upgrade Program for our General Admission season ticket holders.

    *

Your account is eligible for an upgrade, including a move to the Lower Level; however, quantities are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are interested in improving your seats, please contact the Redskins Ticket Office immediately at 301-276-6050 and provide us with your seat upgrade preferences.

    *

If you have already indicated your relocation preference, no action is required on your part. We appreciate your prompt attention to this important matter.

    Hail to the Redskins!!

There are no obstructed view seats in the LL end zone. Besides the obstructed view seats are not GA season tickets.

  5. I was counting rows 11-29 only. 26 seats per row on average. I will state a range, between 15,000 and 16,500 seats removed in total, including what was removed last season.

OK...sorry...thought you might have counted all rows. Never mind......:)

  6. Based on the pics on SOW and the stadium diagram, it appears Sec 406 through 422 have been removed from the west endzone, and Sec 433 through 449 from the east endzone. That means the upper half of 17 sections on each end of the stadium have been removed, leaving only 10 sections (5 on each side of the 50) remaining in their entirety. That means approximately 16,500 seats have been removed from the UL at FedEx over the last 2 seasons.

This based on counting sections from previous pics inside the stadium and comparing to the SOW pics posted yesterday.

Careful with your calculations. Last year, the first 5-7 rows were left intact in each end zone section. Still....it is a whole lot of seats!

  7. Just spoke with a frend whose current seats are in section 423 facing the side of the end zone and end zone corner. He spoke to the TO and his secton was not removed. So no sideline seats have been removed it appears. Will be interesting to get pictures and reports from folks who attend the draft day party on Saturday.

  8. hrm... are the dream seats typically full? i figured those would be empty like the club level due to cost?

Yeah, they're usually pretty full. Portis' mother and Phillip Daniels' wife used to sit in the dream seats in front of my section. Trust me, everyone in the 100 section sideline seats stand the entire game

  9. Has anyone seen the pic of FedEx after the most recent seat removal. It looks like they took sections from the the Corners and up to at least the 10 yard line.

I don't think it is that far. I compared the pictures and some visual landmarks (e.g elevator, gates, etc) and figure they removed seats to about the back of the end zone, maybe end zone. Besides I highly doubt they would remove sideline seats between the 10 and end zone. But they did take out a lot of seats in the corner end zones.

    ---------- Post added April-26th-2012 at 06:38 PM ----------

oh people stand the entire time on the sidelines? i was not aware of that.

that kinda sucks. if everyone sat down they'd see the same thing and be much more comfortable...

thinks like that make you really appreciate the sit down and sit back rules at the verizon center...

Blame Danny Boy. The stadium was built so that people in the first row could see over the players, cheerleaders, media and cameras. Danny added the Dream seats. Everyone in the Dream seats has to stand to see action on the field because they are built lower to the field. Consequently, there is a ripple effect that forces everyone in the 100 sections to stand to see the game. This is not an issue for the most part in the end zone. Some people stand behind the end zone camera but for the most part people can sit and enjoy the game. Of course, people stand periodically on big defensive stands or big plays; and that is to be expected.

  10. Thanks! i'm excited... hopefully i'll be out of the endzone soon and moving down the sideline. I've always had reservations about going from upper level sideline to lower level endzone. we have 3 tickets, i'm hoping that allows us to fit into holes others can't.

I also look forward to getting home quicker. From the upper level it was an hour and a half from the time we started heading down the ramp. I'm hopping to shave it down to an hour since it should mean beating some traffic out of the lots.

Congrats tshile!! Moving down to the end zone lower level was the best decision I ever made three years ago. With the HDTV screens, the end zone seats are not bad at all. And it is the only way without buying club seats to eventually find your way around to the lower level sideline seats.

And as you mentioned the quick getaway was an unexpected bonus. I just had never considered that when I accepted the upgrade. Leaving is so fast now. But then I also park in the handicapped lot so I can be one of the first to my car and get out on Morgan Blvd super quick.

One suggestion. Ask to be located as close to the home side in the end zone as possible. I did that and got one or two sections closer to the corner than anyone else reported here that year. It also helps you avoid being on the visitor side which has an overcrowding problem at the food/drink stands and rest rooms because of the obstructed view seats. You also avoid more of the visitor fans. Good luck.

Dawn of a New Era.....couldn't be a better time to see RG3 up close and personal!

    ---------- Post added April-26th-2012 at 06:07 PM ----------

I just got an email about upgrading to the LL, called the TO. If I'm going to move to the LL I'd only want to be in the 200 section, she said its possible but she couldn't guarantee it but she could put in the request. Obviously I don't want to move from my current seasons if its going to be in the 100 section, but I would definitely move if its in the 200 section.

What do you think my chances are?

I would ask for the 200 level as a preference but would not pass up the upgrade to the 100 level. You can always ask for an upgrade to the 200 level later. The 100 level is generally fine in the end zone area. Once you move toward the sidelines people stand the whole game.

  11. sorry if i missed something and an repeating questions but...

it's safe to say upgrades have started? based on all the parking upgrades i would think so, and I believe S&S said his location is no longer on his invoice? Are other people in the lower level seeing the same thing?

I still see mine, but i'm upper level and we're (obviously) last :(

I can see my invoice again. Came back after they locked the online account system and reopened it again. Probably reset the software. I still cannot see my seats or parking for my 2012 invoice. I can see them on my 2011 invoice.

I still doubt they are doing any upgrades yet. Just too soon and Skins have nothing to gain by doing it before all final payments are made on May 1. (last date of the payment plan).

  12. Has anyone had success moving back rows. I currently have 2 seats in section 112 on row 4. I've been here the last two seasons. I like being this close in the endzone. I, however, do not want to be this close to the field from the sidelines. Players and other team officials will block our view.

I also have a request on my account to be "downgraded" to the 200 level, row 4 or higher. We'll see if it works.

  13. I also doubt the Redskinsare doing away with the gray lot. As HOF said, it was just opened a few years ago and it accounts for a lot of cars. I wonder if ticket renewals are down a lot which also means more spaces opening up inside the FedEx area. I would not think so because the excitement of drafting RG3 should encourage sales.

Anyon who parked in Green B-3 last year.....was the lot full for the divisional games? Or was there a lot of open spaces for those games that were highly attended?

  14. S&S i don't come here much anymore, so i'm only going to address these two points... i think by and large we agree with each other, and for the most part the rest of our conversation is eithe resolved, due to a misunderstanding, or one/both of us overreacting and not worth continuing.

We're good. Sometimes people have to agree to disagee. I always enjoy your posts and comments. Sorry if my comments came off too aggressive. I enjoy a spirited debate.

Skins TO is better but they still have to prove themselves for several years until they regain the confidence of all of us.

    Hail!

I had a problem paying the last installment on my tiks. Went online ot pay and wnet thru the payment process but the sit charged my bank account $0.0. Had to call to make the last payment by phone. Site seems to be having some weird issues.

I got a Q...I'm bottom of the upper level/endzone right behind the glass. They took out the seats about 3/4 rows behind me all the way up to the top. I hope they didn't take out all the upper level endzone seats. I actually like where I sit. last two seats on the row, 1 row in front of me; and I'm right by the stairs and now I only have like 3/4 rows behind me so pedestrian traffic is a minimum. Did they say where the took the extra 5k seats from?

I would call the TO and ask. IF they did take your seats, you would be one of the first in line to choose your new seats instead of them assigning your seats and you being pissed. I would insist on knowing your new seats while on the phone. You should get your new seat assignments before they upgrade others getting a normal upgrade.

  15. This is not about renewals but it is related to the redskins.com site. Today my virus protection blocked redskins.com because it was on their banned sites list. I've never had a problem with this before and I'll have to manually override my virus protection to access my account.

Anyone else having a problem with this and I wonder if it is something they added to their site when they were down for that day not too long ago?

I'm having no issues; and I just tried again. Maybe your anti-virus programmer got :nutkick: by Danny?

  16. Yeah, but let's face it, how many teams have seats that are OV for $29 each like we do? That's going to lower the average significantly.

Maybe...if they even count the OV seats correctly. After I wrote that, got to thinking about all the seats being removed over the past two seasons. Most of the seats were the cheapest seats in the stadium (except for the OV seats). That would force the average ticket cost up. TMR says they weight the ticket price by the number of seats. But I've caught their beer and hot dog prices as being too low. Since they don't share the actual weighting formula, I wonder how accurate their average ticket price is. Still, we have not had a ticket increase in six years and we don't pay no stinkin' personal seat licenses. So we are still better off than most of the big market teams.

While I still believe Redskins tickets are not that bad RELATIVE to other pro sports teams, I think all pro sports teams charge too much. But then it is what the market will bear; and I'm one of the guilty ones who buys season tickets every year.... :)

  17. Section106.....rg all....heck, it is your money, not up to me to tell you how to spend it. I have been approached many times concerning club level, but I didn't want to pay the price which was pretty much what you indicated. I pay $2500 for two tickets and parking. Heck, would love to take advantage of the cigar bar and Hooters!!

I had no clue about how pricey our tickets were....I was speaking with some season ticket holders for the Jax Jaguars...and they were paying under $1000 for two tickets and parking. Wow.

Jacksonville is not a fair comparison at all. They cover 25% of the upper deck with tarps and still cannot sell out their stadium for most games. Absolutely no demand.

Team Marketing Report issues a report on all sports teams using a fan cost index. But in 2011, 9 teams had GA average ticket prices higher than the Redskins. Jacksonville has the lowest average ticket price in the entire league! And the Redskins were about 2 dollars above the average ticket price for the league. So it's really not bad compared to the other teams in the league considering the Redskins are in a high cost area.

  18. Has anyone successfully negotiated a Green parking pass? I see from the thread that the TO promised a green upgrade immediately, but I am weary to commit to grey lot with a "supposed" upgrade. (haven't had good luck with upgrades)

In "theory" according to the TO policy, you should not be able to negotiate a green parking pass. You have to start in gray and move to green according to seniority. This is the "official" policy over the past two years when the TO made major changes to their operations. We have had a very small number of posters who say the got a green parking pass without going through the gray lot first. Two lost their seats last year when the Skins removed end zone seats. I think they got green parking because these people lost their seats. One said he had been a long time season ticket holder and he thought that had some bearing on his getting a green pass based on the TO comments.

I think the only way you get a green parking pass is as an apology for a seat ticket screwup by the TO or by luck. I seem to recall someone last year called about green parking well after the upgrades were completed and got a parking pass. Stuff happens when you manage a lot of parking slots and the TO may have had a few extra after they recalculated or reallocated spaces. Who knows. In general, however, the TO has been following their new seat and parking pass policies based on the overall comments posted in this thread and other similar threads over the past two years. TO's not perfect; but far better than they were in the past.

You can often buy green/orange/purple parking passes for near cost on ebay and craigslist. Beware of counterfeits. Make sure the passes have a bar code and the tear off tab on the bottom.

  19. Here is what I see on my Invoice page. I added some x's to black out details.

    ---------- Post added April-10th-2012 at 02:00 PM ----------

Yes, system is back up. Nothing to see here, move along.

The one thing I did notice is that now my 2011 invoice (under "completed invoices") is broken out game-by-game. There are ten tickets, each priced individually, to add up to my completed invoice. I may be mistaken, but I don't remember seeing this before.

Always a new wrinkle in the accounting/billing system, but the timing of upgrades has been pretty consistent for several years. If past practice holds, and I don't think there's any reason this year it wouldn't, it will be a couple of months before we see upgrades. It was June 20th last year (at least it was for the first news on lower-level to lower-level upgrades).

That happened to me for a week or two last year before it disappeared. I think I saw it during the season as I recall....but not positive

  20. All is back to normal for me too. I can access my account. I even found my seats and parking charges for 2012. They only show up after I try to make my third and final payment...which the system will not let me do. There is a link to the left called "View Invoice Details" that shows my seats and parking charges which are currently the same as last year. Link was not active last week when I clicked on it. Guess TO was rebooting or upgrading the software. I didn't think they would start the upgrade process yet. Much too early.

Those of us on the lower level need to keep checking out accounts periodically. Lower level gets moved first; then they move upstairs to start upgrade process there.

  21. Also locked out.

Upgrade process has begun, but will not be finalized for a bit. I do know that the TO sent out second chance invoices to all canceled or removed seats (by request) with an April 15th due date (that would include an upgrade if "re-purchased") Therefore, I'd assume finalization would not be any sooner than 15 April.

Are you also in the lower level?

  22. Does anyone know when we will find out if you get an upgrade... TO claims they are starting April 1.. .I dont believe it....

I upgraded a couple years ago, but I am trying to get all 4 together now... I dont want to harass folks so I was just curious

Well, I didn't believe it either. But now not only are my seats missing from my account but I can't login to my account at all. Another long time STH with lower level seats just PM'd me to say the same thing has happened to him. So maybe they are starting the upgrades already. Last year, the upgrades showed on my account soon after the seats disappeared from the invoice and I was locked out of my account. I called the TO to find out why I was locked out last year and they told me the upgrade process had begun for my seats. So......

    ---------- Post added April-9th-2012 at 07:20 PM ----------

That's what happens around here in the offseason, when there is absolutely nothing going on Redskins football-wise.....

Isn't that the truth! I think this is at least the third season in a row that some people complain about the $3 internet processing fee. And I bite every year debating the stupid fee. I guess I'm bored and my previous retail experience just makes me crazy that people are upset/annoyed/angry/take your pick over a $3 fee after spending over a thousand dollars. Football cannot get here fast enough.

  23. I wasnt complaining really about it... I just am trying to figure out why they dont disclose it....

I think its funny you dont see it anywhere and then when you goto pay its like oh another hidden fee....

Its the principal of the fact bud

The fee is clearly listed on the invoice prior to payment. The shipping and handling fee of $25 is not "advertised" in your face either. Companies simply do not do that....anywhere. Danny is no different than any other company. If you don't want to pay the $3 internet processing fee, pay by mail or pay at the ticket office. Quite simple.

  24. Worse, attorney.

But the point is that Snyder could hide that fee in the delivery charge or ticket price (though he probably doesn't want to be accused of "raising" ticket prices right now). If that was the case, no one would care, and most wouldn't notice. Just because the invoice is more itemized, what's the sense in complaining? It's $3! Let's play some football!

Exactly! I used to work for Williams Sonoma/Pottery Barn for a short time between "real" jobs. Customers would insist on getting free shipping because competing companies were offering free shipping. WS had a policy that our shipping and handling fee covered our real shipping and handling costs. It was not considered a profit center by the company. I would always tell customers that and say you need to consider the total cost including shipping and handling. Other companies are not giving you free shipping. They are just including the shipping cost in the price of the item being purchased.

Now there are companies that make a profit off of shipping and handling; and maybe WS does now, too. Bottom line is you have to look at the total cost of what you are purchasing and not look at all the add on costs. Freaking out over a $3 processing fee when You are forking over $1,000 per seat and $350 for parking is just silly IMHO.
