  1. I wonder if that means the granite counter/bar tops will go as well, or just the actual SRO tix.

I thought I read a quote that said, or at least implied, that the standing room space would stay to be used by Club level patrons. Just no tickets would be sold because they were overcrowding the elites in the club level. Go ahead....someone will flame away. :D

  2. Think they are eliminating the club level SROs in order to mitigate crowding in the club level concourse, which folks were apparently complaining about.  The upper level party decks should still exist.

    That's my understanding also.

  3. The cynic in me says that they are moving the band back to the lower level BECAUSE of the relocation of the STHs, and because they've not been able to sell out the lower corners regularly.  By doing this they fill a big block of end-zone seats, move anyone from those seats who still wants to pay to the corners or sidelines into existing unsold seats.  The net result is they move butts out of the club end zone into the lower bowl, and shift unsold seats to the club level standing room section, which doesn't show up on TV.

I used to sit in a lower corner and now just beyond a lower corner section. They were always full; no empty seats. Yes sometimes they were from the other teams. But I don't think the band move is to try to improve the appearance of empty seats. Quite frankly, the lower bowl is almost always completely full even late in the season when we suck. I think they just realize the band move to the Club level turned out to be a bad idea. Part of the reason for moving the band to the Club level was to give them more space and a larger more modern changing room and room to store their instruments. I don't think they realized how hidden they would be on the Club level.

Also, the Skins are eliminating the Club level standing room "seats"; so that kills that argument also. No problem being cynical with this team. But I think they are just correcting a mistake they made a few years ago. Frankly, they are going to lose revenue by using a section for the band in the lower level. They had plenty of unsold Club seats; which is another reason they made the move back then IMHO. I had a discussion with the team CEO at the time about the move.

  4. Question to those that didn't renew:

I didn't pay the invoice this year, with the intention of not renewing. However, my account shows a "past due" amount. For non-renewals, do you have to submit a letter or call to not renew, or is my account just going to show a "past due" amount until the ticket office changes my status in their system?

    Thanks,

Why are you asking us. Pick up the phone and call the ticket office.

  5. The Redskins find new and creative ways to screw-over their most loyal die hard fans. I just sent off an email complaining. Won't matter of course.

I have no problems with providing rewards to entice old STHs back to the fold. Signed jerseys, footballs, etc are fine. But when you start giving free parking and move people ahead of others for good seats, I have serious problem with that. You screw over those of us who have stayed as STH to entice others back. Just flat out is insulting and unfair to those of us still crazy enough to shell out thousands of dollars for a crappy team year after year.

  6. So am I.

The nats have a good program. I mean look at this - http://washington.nationals.mlb.com/was/ticketing/sth/benefits_chart.jsp

That's how you treat your season ticket holders.

A lot of that is gimmicky stuff, but some of it is absolutely awesome. Dedicated park entrance and 'skip the line' style lines at concession stands is awesome.

I'm easy to please, it wouldn't take much to make me happy on this one.

Dedicated park entrance and "skip the line" stuff will not work in FedEx Field. EVERY ticket holder has a season ticket whether GA or premium. There are no single tickets or walk-ups. Those two perks simply would not work for the Redskins.

  7.

    WTF FEDEX???

    REALLY???

My tracking shows the same thing. My tickets were at the local FedEx facility all day yesterday and this morning they are back in Memphis, TN. Stupid.

  8. It's a pretty basic sales strategy used by the airlines, car dealers, housing sales, etc. You think everyone pays exactly the same price for everything? How naive. While that is generally true for small ticket items in the US, it is not true for big ticket items that have a more variable demand. For the Skins, you sell as many seats as you can for the highest price point. After a certain amount of wait time, you reduce the price to sell to people with a lower acceptable price point. You keep doing this until all seats are sold.

The only reason they do not do this in the GA seats is the demand is high enough to sell all/or almost all GA tickets at a single ticket price. Even then, there are variables in the cost of a seat based on where you sit in the stadium.

Fly coach and almost every person on the plane paid something different. Two people buy the identical car on the same day and one will pay more than the other. Happens every day in every part of our country. It's called capitalism AKA a free market economy.

Buying club seats to a pro football game is not like going down to your grocery or department store. And even they have periodic sales so that one day you pay more than if you bought the exact same thing on another day.

The longer you wait out the Redskins until opening day, the better your club seat price will be......IF they do not sell out all their remaining empty seats. And it is all negotiable. Fans have reported negotiating the price, the contract length, throw-ins like signed jerseys and footballs; access to lower level seating, etc. IF you want club seats, call an agent and make an offer.

  9. Has anyone NOT received their invoice yet? I haven't.

Have you checked your account online and/or received an email saying your invoice would be arriving soon? If not, I'd call the ticket office to check. Don't want them to slip through the cracks. I've had my paper invoice for over two weeks now.

  10. If you notice he's in the 200's. No being forced to stand there. That's a 100's thing.

My spokesman said it all!! LOL

My body has gotten too old to stand all game long. Yes, I do stand at reasonable and appropriate times. But as I always say in these debates, there is a reason why the seat is there. We still get the occasional one game fan who insists on standing in the first row of my section all game long. We "educate" him early on the nuance of being able to watch the entire game and yell to your heart's content in a sitting position.  Most of the time, they are passed out by the third quarter and miss a great game!

  11. From the upper level, I don't see much difference between the home and visitor side. I suppose there may be more visiting fans on the visitor side, but I never found it to be an issue during my 7 years in the upper level visitor side. Now on the lower level, you will find a lot more visiting team fans on the visitor side. But you will also see more opportunities for open seats on the visitor side because demand for home sideline seats is greater. I would consider where I sit based on where I arrive at the stadium to help minimize the walk

IF you get to move down to the lower level in the next couple years, you can plan on sitting in the end zone or corner endzone. There will not be any 35 yard line seats available to you. It would be like winning the Power Ball Lottery. :D Sideline seats are going to be grabbed by folks with higher seniority and better seat location than you. But you are correct, once you get into the lower level, you will have higher priority to upgrade than folks in the upper level. I moved to section 109 in the end zone, then to 108, then to 207 the last two years. I was not able to upgrade last year to better seats. Hopefully, I have better luck this year.

Personally, anywhere on the lower level is much better than the upper level. I will take my corner end zone seats over someone's 50 yard line upper level seats any day. (Others feel quite different. It is a personal choice.) You feel much more part of the crowd on the lower level. Players are closer to you. More noise, more action....I just like it better. Also, faster getaway to your car to beat the crowd. I'm on my way to PA while upper deck folks are still walking down the ramps or fighting over the escalator. Someday, I'll get to the sideline....someday......someday.......

  12. Thank you for taking the time to explain the ins and outs of the upgrade process SonnyandSam. I don't plan on bailing on this team any time soon, it took seven years for me to get from the waiting list to an actual season ticket holder.

Even though I'm from NY I bleed Burgundy and Gold through and through.

You're welcome. By the way, I should have added that there is much more movement in the upper deck than the lower level. For whatever reason, people do not stick with their season tickets in the upper level. As long as you are willing to sit on either the home or visitor side, you have a very good chance of moving down quickly. And now that WE can choose our own upgrades, it no longer matters if you sit on the upper level visitor side but eventually want to move to the home lower level side in the future. Although there are fewer available seats on the home lower level side for the obvious reason.

  13. Skins do not do upgrade offers any more. When it comes time in mid summer, you will be assigned an upgrade window based on seniority (years as a STH) and other factors such as being a member of the Touchdown Club or Tailgate Club. That should not be of concern to you since you are in the upper deck. Obviously, seats closer to the 50 yard line are harder to get as well as lower level seats.

When the Skins finally opened up the lower level to upgrades from the upper deck, I moved down that first year. But I was a 7 year STH and was then sitting in row 5 of my section. But expect to start in the end zone and move around to sideline slowly. Lower level sideline seats do not open often and those that do seem to go to people in the TD club or the tailgate club, which cost extra money.

Make sure you have an online account setup. When your upgrade window (date and time) arrives, you will need to login and select the seats you want. The Redskins will send all STHs instructions on how to to this before they begin the upgrade process. My advice is once your upgrade window becomes available, keep checking back on a regular basis. Seats open up at weird times with no rhyme or reason it seemed based on last year. You can upgrade more than once. But only once per day.

    Good luck.

  14. For two grand for two tickets I suspect every person in the upper uppers would move to the club.  They wouldn't have trouble moving tickets at that price.

I pay more than that for my corner endzone lower level seats. I'd move from the lower level to the upper level for that price!

  15. Call me a sucker. I just re-upped my season tickets for another year. This will be my 12th season as a STH. You would think by now that my optimism would take a hit. HA! I'll probably see a 6-10 season with 2 home wins. Just like most other years......Sucks to be a Skins addict.

  16. IF you're interested they are offering payment plans again this year. You have to have the agreement in place before the due date of 4/1.

I've opted for a four payment schedule.

Just so no one misses the deadline, the 4 month payment plan requires us to sign up prior to March 1 with the first payment due on March 1 followed by April 1, May 1 and June 1.

And to the user who complained about the shipping/handling fee of $25. I am always amazed how people really believe they are getting free shipping. Like it costs nothing to print the tickets, stuff the envelopes, pay for the envelopes, and pay FedEx to deliver the tickets to your door. Any company who advertises free shipping is just including the handling and shipping costs with the product cost. We all pay one way or the other to package and ship what we buy. There is NO free handling and shipping. It is just a mirage.

  17. I know in the past that the Redskins have considered adding cup holders to the back of seats in the GA sections. Was always high on their list of things to improve but lost out to other items. I can't think of any other seat modification short of replacing them or adding cushions which both seem unlikely.

  18. New jerseys = $$$ and Dan likes $$$. Think about it, plenty of people have bought white burgundy and throwback Griffin jerseys. Those same people would likely buy the new version as well. Also, I believe I remember Griffin himself calling for new uniforms on Twitter, not saying it means anything but I feel like the new generation deserves a new look.

Contrary to popular belief, owners do not make much money off jersey sales. Most of it goes to the NFLPA, and the player. The share of ALL jersey sales going to the NFL is split evenly among the 32 teams. So Dan has little incentive to have a new jersey to make more money. Profit gets cut up into so many pies that he gets relatively little money. I'm talking jersey sales and not all the other Redskin related stuff. IMAGE is more important than the few dollars to be made off a new jersey. The Redskins uniform has been a classic for decades. Snyder is not going to mess with the team's image and colors. Black, in particular is not happenin' for the players uniforms.

    ---------- Post added May-18th-2013 at 02:13 PM ----------

You didn't read that in context. Hemorrhaging money in that sentence & paragraph structure was referring to money we could ALSO be making. Obviously the franchise makes plenty of money...oddly, i don't catch many people reppin' Redskins gear out this way, or any other city for that matter.

I'm assuming we make a ton of money off of past value, real estate value, parking, TV, netwoks, & now you can add RGIII burgundy jersey sales to go along with Taylor, Cooley, & Moss jersey sales of the recent past. The point being that by updating the uni's & making them more fashionable & changing the scheme regularly gives MORE people MORE reason to buy that team's apparel on a more consistent basis. Add in the potential with RGIII going forward & the team on the brink of being a more consistent competitor.....

I think you may start to get my point. It's not hemorrhaging money we already have....it's hemorrhaging from the link to potential income & preventing the organization from earning an even larger overhead.

Put another way....if RGIII is the only player i'm really interested in buying a jersey of, then if i get 1 burgundy...i've got 'em all. But if i'm an RGIII nut, & they change the look enough next season...well darnit...now i've gotta buy that one.

Skins do not make much money from jersey sales. Most of it goes to the NFLPA and the player. What share the NFL gets is split 32 ways....including the NFL profit off all RG3 jerseys. Little incentive for Snyder to change jerseys for money only.

  19. The collar will do as a bandaid until we get a complete uniform overhaul in a year or two

I don't think we will ever see a uniform "overhaul". Some tweaking maybe. Skins and Snyder are very conservative about changing anything football related. Uniforms have been essentially the same for decades. The only exception is the coaches have dictated color combinations based on their preferences.

And my two cents .... I LOVE the burgundy tops and gold pants. That is who we are.....the Burgundy and Gold....not the white and gold or the white and white or the white and burgundy or the burgundy and white or burgundy and burgundy.....etc

  20. I got a letter in the mail yesterday telling me my upgrade window starts on may 2nd and ends on may 5th, I have AAA fanzone seats and the letter stated that account holders with AAA fanzone seats are being given "preferred access to select new AAA Ultimate Fan Zone seats from available inventory", and that if you have additional general admission seats those can be upgraded at a later date.

You should post this in the seat upgrade thread created specifically for the new upgrade process

    http://www.extremeskins.com/showthread.php?380361-New-Seat-Upgrade-Process

  21. Looks like they are starting to lay the foundation for upgrades. Was in my account and they have updated the stadium maps with different shades for the different priced areas.

    Link

Ooooooo.....look at all the pretty colors. Looks like a crayon box. LOL

Ooops....they goofed. Section 138 should be blue not green.
