Skins really do enjoy a healthy aftermarket and couldn't care less if you have to sit and be harassed by visiting fans in your own stadium, as long as someone pays them for that ticket!!

Redskins games (especially against Marquee opponents) remind me a lot of college bowl games at this point, near 50/50 distribution of fans maybe tilted a bit in the Skins favor.

That is actually quite untrue. I have had conversations with senior Redskins officials and the number of visiting team fans is a source of great frustration for them. They make nothing from aftermarket ticket sales other than any advertising $ they make from relationships with StubHub, etc. The problem is how do you stop fans from selling their season tickets.

The sale of tickets on the internet is a problem faced by most every NFL team. It is not unique to the Redskins. The internet provides an easy source of tickets for visiting fans where ever you are.

    Sonny, again you are wrong.

Here is the Email from the Redskins. I put in bold the line about only for wild card game.

NFL OFFERS EARLY "PAY AS WE PLAY" OPTION FOR POSTSEASON GAMES

    Dear Season Ticket Members,

For the 2016 season, the National Football League is once again requiring all 32 NFL teams to offer Season Ticket Members an Early “Pay As We Play” Option for potential postseason home games. This early option incentive allows you to lock in your regular season ticket price for the Wild Card round, should the Redskins host a Wild Card game at FedExField.

By opting to purchase your 2016 postseason tickets by September 7, you can reserve tickets for potential postseason games at FedExField without putting any money down.

Your credit card will not be charged until the Redskins qualify to host a home postseason game, with your credit card information stored securely within this Season Ticket Member portal. The credit card used to enroll in this “Pay As We Play” program must have an expiration date beyond February 2017. You will also have the option to purchase parking passes at a later date.

To take advantage of this NFL offer exclusive to Season Ticket Members, PLEASE CLICK HERE. Your invoice can be found in the Pay My Invoice section under the TICKET CENTRAL tab.

If you have any questions about this policy, please call the Ticket Office at 301.275.6050.

    Thank you,
    The Washington Redskins

    PLEASE NOTE:

    • The regular season price lock is offered for the Wild Card game only. If you do not elect to take part in the Early “Pay As We Play” Option, you will still be eligible to purchase Wild Card game tickets at market rates. You will receive communications with pricing information at the appropriate time.
    • If the Redskins host a home game in the Divisional or Conference Championship round, you will be eligible to purchase tickets. You will receive communications with pricing information at the appropriate time.

You are correct. I just called the ticket office and they confirmed it only applies to the first home playoff game. On my season ticket account, it said, "Should the Redskins host a home playoff game,....." I read that for all home games. But apparently not. My bad. Thank you for correcting me. But Skins should have been clearer on our ticket account site.

The pay as you go is only for the wildcard game.

Not true. Pay as you go works for entire playoff run.

NOTE: Update...this is incorrect. Language on my season ticket account web site inferred otherwise. The price and pay as you go is only for the first home playoff game.

I noticed they give you the option of reserving playoff tickets now at regular season prices.  Does anyone know how much more expensive the playoff tickets were last year?

You pay whatever your season ticket price is ....normally. The NFL and not the Redskins control playoff ticket prices. But when we have had playoff games at home, we have been charged the regular season ticket price. Theoretically, the NFL could increase the playoff ticket prices at the end of the season. Reserving now guarantees we pay just the season ticket price. Some of us have been charged service fees and some have not. Not sure why. May have been related to when we accepted being automatically charged for playoff tickets at the beginning of the season. I'd have to  check, but am pretty sure I did not get billed for the service fee this past year. I agreed at the beginning of the season to automatically being billed for playoff tickets before the regular season began. But then, maybe I am remembering wrong.....:ols:

NFL Game Pass is listed on the Redskins Rewards website under Member Benefits.

So after digging around on the NFL.com season ticket holder benefits site and NFL Game Pass site, it appears we may get "NFL Game Pass". But it is nothing more than NFL Game Rewind that we have had access to for a couple years now. Still no access to live regular season games. And even though NFL Game Pass now includes live preseason games, the Redskins / NFL have not given us any access to NFL Game Pass for free. One note said access codes would be emailed in September....that being after the preseason games. So call it whatever you want, Redskins season ticket holders are just getting NFL Rewind with a different name. Also, preseason games are not available live IF the game is being shown locally. And all preseason Redskins games are being show locally. I used the 7 day free trial to watch the Skins Falcons game because I live in PA. NFL marketing has just repackaged NFL Rewind with a new name, albeit a name used to market to the rest of the world.

Sonny, NFL changed the name last year, it is now called NFL Game Pass

We still do not get access to Game Pass. Only what I listed in my message. I quoted directly from my letter from the Redskins. NFL Game Pass is not one of the things we get for being a season ticket holder. Also, NFL Game Pass began in 2008 for folks outside North America. It came to the US last year.

Does anyone know anything about season ticket holders getting access to NFL Game Pass?  I emailed the ticket office and she said that we will be getting access, but they haven't gotten any Log In information from the NFL yet.  She said as soon as they get that, they'll email out the info to the season ticket holders.

Just curious... does anyone remember when this access was available in years past?  This is my first year as a season ticket holder.  I was hoping to have it before tonight's game, but that seems unlikely.  I'm in Delaware, so I can't watch the game on TV.

We don't get access to "Game Pass". Redskins season ticket holders get access to the NFL Redzone on your smartphone and NFL Game Rewind online and on demand as well as a Madden NFL card pack and subscription to ShopRunner for free 2 day shipping. We will be emailed in September with details.

Never said that, it was just a question as to how that works since I most likely won't be able to make the game next Friday,  I'd rather just let a friend have them for free.

You can't give away something you don't yet own either. You admit that they are not paid for.

  9. 8 hours ago, GOSKINS_08 said:

So can you only transfer tickets after your account is paid in full? I wanted to transfer the jets game tickets to a friend but it says I can't yet.

So you always expect to be able to sell something you do not yet own? Really? You somehow think this is unfair.:)

  10. Just got an email they shipped, and will be here Tuesday.  No signature required, which is surprising, as all the years I've been a member they always required a signature.  Every year I looked forward to driving to Fedex to pick them up cause I missed the driver.  Maybe they trying to save money....

Got my email today also. Due Tuesday.

Now that they are barcoded, there may not be a need to require signature delivery. IF not delivered, when you call, they can deactivate the missing tickets and send you new ones with a new bar code.

  11. I care becasue I dont want a $2,000 item sitting on my front porch. Plus it is kinda like Christmas in July/August, start of a new year. Anything can happen.

Signature required. AND if FedEx leaves it anyway, not your fault. TO will provide replacement tickets.

  12. I was told up to 10 installments, but they've already started for this year I think

I'd be shocked if they allowed 10 installments. The current installment plan is 4 payments; March 1, April 1, May 1, June 1. I'm a season ticket holder for 15 years.

  13. I haven't been able to get into the upgrade at all since last evening. My upgrade button has completely disappeared despite an email saying my window closed 6/10/2016. Never know when new seats open up; I regularly check in just in case. Guess not this year. Damn Redskins....they needed to suck for a couple more years so I could move closer to the 50 yard line. :D

  14. Thanks.

I knew that 239 would get snatched.

No biggie, both of us have sweet seats.

Certainly better than the nosebleeds are started out in 15 years ago.....Section 424 row 27 I think....  I'm not complaining...just greedy! :-)

  15. My window opened up, at 2:00pm, and I didn't see anything available. I'm using my phone, and checked the box, to select my current seats, (that I would be upgrading), and hit the "continue" button.

It shows the "Virtue Venue" stadium seating diagram, but it doesn't show what seats are available.

You have to click on the green sections to see available seats. Mostly just single seats on the sideline. I did see three seats together in row 11 in section 218 on the visitor side. But nothing but singles other than that. Disappointed....but expected. Tshile got my hopes up, but I knew they would not last two days.

  16. I think that you're referring to me, (Butz65 quoted my post...he knows the Boss ;)..he and his wife tailgate with us), and I hope that you're right, but it's not likely.

She stated, emphatically, that our seats" must be in the 200's, home side, and in the last row" That's a tall order. 239, was the only one, in Tshiles early post, that sparked any interest.

I think that the flurry of upgrades that occurred a few years ago, was probably the height of opportunity, to get good upgrades. At that time, we made the jump from section 431, row 2 aisle,(which were great seats), to 236.

I know quite a few people, who made similiar jumps, best one, IMHO, was friends of ours who moved from 423,to 232 to 238(under cover), in consecutive seasons. I love their seats, and almost pulled the trigger on them myself, but didn't, because I couldn't tell if those seats were under cover. That section, as you know, has a weird cut-out, near the steps,(I think), and that's where the seats are.

ooooppps. sorry. I know section 238 well. That's my section. I like my seats but would like the aisle or closer to the 50 yard line. I was once in section 424 and in about 5 years have now found myself in 238. Can't really complain now that the Redskins actually allow upgrades from the upper level to the lower level. Maybe in an hour, I'll get lucky.

I also just got an email saying my window ends June 10. Wonder if that is the end of the upgrade window for everyone?

  17. Seems like there are also not as many interested folks in this thread this year. In past years, it was pretty active during the upgrade process. Folks are happy with their seat locations I guess. I have a buddy in the 400 level and he is not even going to bother looking at an upgrade even if it is not going to cost him any more $. I always look; never know what could become available that is a better seat. Even DButz65 might find better seats that meets his boss' requirements. :-) LOL

  18. .......

I have a hard time believing my price point has not had a single ticket available at all, so something's screwy.

I just sent another email in trying to be a little more specific about the issue...

For those of you who have an upgrade window this morning, let me know if you have the same problem. It's possibly just an issue with my account...

Skins have had issues with individual accounts not seeing or being able to access the upgrade system in past years. One would think they would have that ironed out by now. I also think the TO can see open or pending open seats before they get posted on the upgrade system based on posts from prior years. No proof; just a feeling. Calling the TO is always the most accurate solution. They can also give you tickets for seats being held for player's families, opposing teams, media, etc....i.e do a trade for the new seats for your old seats. A certain number of tickets are always held back for non fans as required by the NFL.

  19. I'd say that about 1/2 of the tickets i listed as available yesterday, are still available as of right now.

A lot less big groups, a lot more singles, but there's a surprising number of pairs and there's even quite a few pairs that are right inline with each other in two separate rows that would work for someone with 4 seats looking to move.

Were the seats in 203 and 239 still available?

  20. ...got my email yesterday evening....window opens at 10 AM on Wed....I have had tickets since 1999...probably won't upgrade as I share my tickets with two other guys (plus they BOTH still owe me $$ from the 2015 season).

That's the downside to sharing tickets. Some folks don't pay up on time or at all. Can't even rely on family; we shared house expenses with  sister in laws and one never paid up thousands of dollars....yet they found money to go on Disney cruise vacations, etc. How do these people live with themselves.....

  21. I can only see my section and sections that are more expensive than mine (you have to call and talk to someone to downgrade)

    Unavailable sections:

    Home: 101, 142, 141,140

    Away: 120,121,122,123

    Available

    Section - Tickets available

    (home)

    102 - 3

    203 - 2

    103 -1

    104 - 12

    139 - 11

    239 - 4

    (away)

    118 - 31

    218 - 5

    119 - 10

    219 - 6

    124 -2

    224 -2

    125 - 4

    225 - 8

A lot of these are a group of seats, and some singles. Like the group of 12 in 104, is 3 sets of 3 and 3 single seats.

I, unfortunately, am not in a position to spend more money. Oh well, I'll have to check back later and see if someone moves...

    Edit:

A nice feature going forward would be the ability to flag a section... like say your window comes up and nothing's available, you can check a box that says "notify me when seats become available". if you could set a minimum quantity that would be even better.

Also, it looks like they invested some time into the renderings of the seats.

I seem to recall it just being a birds eye view of the section with little squares you pick. now they give you a view looking at the section from the field, you can actually see a very accurate (at least for my section) depiction of how close to the stairs you are and what it looks like.

Thanks for the update, Tshile. Looks like I could have options on Wednesday...although any better seats for me probably will be gone....

  22. Yea same here but would love aisle, rear row or front row of my section

You sure you want that front row? Not fun when it rains. That's why I like row 3 on back. The railing can be a nuisance also, depending on your angle and how tall you are in your seat.

Really weird, they sent me an upgrade email for Friday at 10 AM, but I just got season tickets and no way am I upgrading them.

Why not upgrade if you can get better seats at the same cost? Seats open up for all kinds of reasons including people upgrading or dropping their season tickets. Upgrading does not mean you HAVE to pay more.

  23. Same here. I am in 451. Would love to get a bit closer to 401/454 but we'll see. Some were available in that section last week when you could add-on.

Quick question to veteran season ticket holders. If you were to give up your seats let's say on Thursday, would those seats be available on Friday. I realize that I won't be sitting anywhere great for the next few years, but a move closer to the 50 would be great.

Also, is it better (in everyone's opinion) to sit at midfield 400 level or endzone 100. Just curious.

    Thanks!

That's a personal decision. We've had that debate often on this board. Personally, moving from the upper level to the lower level end zone was the best decision I've ever made with my Redskins tickets. I've been able to move around each season one or two sections so that I am now on the 5-10 yard line; could have moved closer to the 50 sooner IF I wanted to sit in the 100 level. I prefer the 200 level seats for a number of reasons.

I like two things about the lower level. I am much closer to the game/action itself and I feel more enthusiasm and play a bigger part of the game day crowd. You are surrounded by the noise and excitement of the game. Second, leaving after the game is MUCH faster. Almost no crowds compared to walking down the ramps or waiting at the escalator. You will be at your car and leaving by the time you would have gotten out of the stadium where you are now. On the other hand, I miss the walk down the ramp after victories. THAT was always a lot of fun! IF you move to the end zone, my advice is pick the end zone closest to where you intend to park.

Also, the end zone is not as bad now with the addition of the huge video screens. In fact, you get a unique view of the running and passing lanes that you cannot get from the sideline. And nothing is sweeter watching the Redskins running right at you as they are about to score. I still remember Robert's 80 yard run against the Vikings coming right at me. Super sweet moment. Downside is when play is on the other side of the 50; you end up watching the video boards most of the time. You also have to rely on the video boards for down and distance. But I figured short term pain for long term gain as I moved around to the sideline.

The big downside to the 100 level sideline seats is that you will stand the entire game. That is why I prefer the 200 level. I can sit most of the game and stand during the big moments.

And yes, you should be able to upgrade during the upgrade process if your seats have been assigned to you. People move, seats are dropped which can leave better seats open during the seat upgrade process. For example, seats on the 50 yard line in the 400 level could open because someone before you chose to move to the lower level. Why not upgrade if that is what you want? Just realize some upgraded seats could cost you more if you choose to move; particularly downstairs.

Hail...and welcome to FedEx field where you get to watch the Redskins in person with 70,000+ of your die hard friends! Something you cannot do on your couch in your home. (I know, it's an expensive perk/addiction)
