  1. In my scenario I am banking on Jeudy knocking it out of the park at the combine and moving into the top 3 players in the draft. I'm also taking Espinesa to make up for not getting Simmons and filling the LB need. Delpit would be an awesome get to help lead the defense to another level by addressing the back end..... You could argue that these three players make the Skins better than Young would but who knows what the best thing to do is? Maybe what we do is contingent on how free agency goes? If we sign a stud WR we don't go for a WR high in the draft....If Trent comes back maybe we don't even consider OL til 4th or 5th round? So many things for this new group to consider. They need to get it right. Chase is the safe decision but who knows if a trade back wouldn't get us more stars?
  2. It is fun and I am in agreement that some team is gonna fall in love with Tua and offer us a sick haul to get him. Miami has the most firepower to do it with their haul of 1st round picks so they're the most logical team to do the mock trade with imo. If enough teams fall in love with Tua and Miami is one of them we are likely gonna be flooded with offers....good offers. This is gonna be the longest waiting game of our lives.
  3. Miami holds picks 5, 18 and 26....Let's just say they offer that haul to us for the #2 overall pick to draft Tua. What players are we talking about getting rather than Young? This would allow Detroit to take Young and the Giants to take Simmons or Okudah..... Pick #5: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama....best WR in the draft would be paired with Terry McClauren and Steve Sims to make up a dynamic threesome at WR Pick #12: Grant Delpit, Safety., LSU...best safety in the draft slides in nicely next to Landon Collins Pick #26: A.J. Epenesa, DE/LB Iowa......Skins draft the versatile pass rusher who was a 5 star recruit out of high school and was excellent at Iowa Again, this is hypothetically what it COULD look like if we traded out and passed on Chase Young......not a bad haul.
  4. To your point, can you imagine being one game away from becoming a multi millionaire with the only thing standing in your way is a major injury? I'm not saying this was on Young's or any other players mind but how could it not be? Young got to see his teammate, Bosa, sit out the entire season so he wouldn't get hurt. Don't you think they talk? Forget the last game and watch all of the games where he was trying to prove himself and get himself into position to be a high draft pick....that's the guy everyone is raving about.
  5. I went back and watched game tape of Reuben Foster at Alabama and I thought I was watching Sean Taylor's younger brother. Foster was a beast. If he can get back to his form at Bama and we team him with Chase Young, Montez and the Bama boys we just need to get a free safety to make this defense very formidable. I am juiced to see what JDR can do and to see how bad we can make Daniel Jones, Wentz and Dak look. We have waited long enough, our time is now.
  6. Simmons championship game performance and his versatility gets him into the conversation for sure. He can do things for a defense that Young hasn't shown or possibly been asked to do....As much as I think Young is a no-brainer for the Skins, I do wonder if Simmons checks off more boxes to make our defense better as far as how he can be used? That doesn't mean he's a better pro prospect than Young, just that he has a different game. Gonna be a long 4 months for us fans in anticipation of what this staff does.
  7. The Niners are showing the league that you don't need a QB focused roster to have a dominant team. This is the blueprint I hope RR follows. We have a good running game and a solid stable of backs. Get a TE and build the defense by drafting Chase and filling in the other holes in free agency. Then, lets see how good Haskins can be...If he turns out to be a great QB then we have gold Jerry......Gold!
  8. That's what the Eagles used to do with Reggie White, he would play anywhere on the line. Pick the weakest link and that dude draws Chase Young. Very hard to game plan against that. Here's a thought, what if we signed a pass rushing LB in free agency too? We will have the cap space to make a run at someone.
  9. Young will make Sweat a better player. Between the two of them there's gonna need to be a name for them....we may as well start working on this now.
  10. Chase Young and Montez Sweat with the Bama Boys and Ion rushing the passer and stuffing the run. This defensive line is going to be a force beginning next season. God please help Reuben Foster stay healthy and out of trouble and this defense is downright scary. I think I could be a corner and get 6 picks with that pass rush.
  11. Yes. I think RR is in charge and Dan is desperate for success. Doesn't mean DH will be traded but it doesn't mean he will be given the job next season. I don't think RR takes the job if there are conditions where DH has to be the starter. No way.
  12. I don't disagree, but as a new coach, if you are not sold on DH as your franchise QB then the time to move on could be now. I think as fans we need to start considering that anything is possible until RR verbally commits to DH....Again, DH is not RR's guy and maybe he'll want someone who's more polished and ready to win? Who knows right now?
  13. Yep....I believe some teams will overpay to get someone they fall in love with. If Tua is given a clean bill of health, blows away teams in the interviews and Wonderlic test, he could shoot to the top right next to Burrow. This is gonna be tremendous theater. One thing I havent seen asked on this site, what if Rivera and company fall in love with Tua and aren't enamored with Haskins? That can't be ruled out. Haskins is not RR's guy and RR is running the show now.
  14. good point....Rodgers sat behind Favre, had Mike Holmgren and was brought up right. That had to help his career. What if Alex Smith took the same path Rodgers did????
  15. Detroit is actually in a great spot too. They will get nice offers to drop back and I'd expect they could still get their man if they drop back to #5 where Miami sits. Then, we become the focus of the other teams who couldn't get Detroit to deal with them. Lets say Oakland moves up to 3 by offering a slew of picks to Detroit. Miami will then need to call us assuming they want Tua too. It could get really crazy.... Yes but remember how badly the Jets messed that up....If I recall, they didn't go up far enough?
  16. I think it's definitely possible, yes. There are teams out there that know you need a QB to win and if Tua is that guy I don't think someone like Gruden bats an eye at dealing 3 firsts and a 2nd to move up and get him. Look at Tampa Bay....they will move on from Winston and will need a QB. Who's it gonna be? If they want Tua I can see them making a huge offer as well, assuming they have picks to offer. From what I've heard Tua is supposed to fully recover.
  17. Once we draft Young, with the possible additions of Reuben Foster, Bryce Love, whatever free agents we get, a second year Haskins and a new coaching staff, could this be the most anticipated Skins season ever???? At least since 2012.
  18. And if Miami really wants Tua, just the thought of what you are saying has to scare them. It's great to be in the hunt for off-season champs again.
  19. For arguments sake, I'll give you Jon Gruden and his multiple first round picks. He is the so called QB guru and if he falls in love with Tua I can absolutely see him trying to move all the way up to 2 just to get him. I absolutely see your point but we're talking poker now.... Lets say the Dolphins and Raiders both want Tua and we tell the world we're considering trading out of the 2 hole. Now it's game on between the two of them to try and get our pick before the other might. The offers could get crazy. Look what we gave up for RGlll and he was an unconventional QB...Tua is much more NFL ready than RGlll was. Hell, Ditka gave us his entire draft for Ricky Williams. There's a long way to go with this, guys move up big time at the combine so things could change. There are still the character interviews, background checks, physicals, etc to go. I think you and I are both logically right about how this could go, I just think Tua or Young may get us some unreal offers.
  20. If Miami offered that then I would have to take that deal...that's too big of a haul to turn down.. Wow, could you imagine? We could take Simmons and fill 2 other holes as well. But they don't know for sure that we won't trade out of #2 and allow someone else to snag Tua? You jump to #2 to guarantee your team gets Tua, or Young, or whomever else.....Just cause we don't need a QB doesn't mean we won't trade out of #2. Lets just say we float rumors out there that the #2 pick is for sale cause we're not enamored with Young.....let the bidding begin.
  21. I'm with you. I think Sweat is gonna be great, especially as he learns the league, gets stronger and is in an aggressive system. Del Rio must be loving the prospects of having all these 1st round picks on his defense. I wouldn't want to be a QB in the NFC East in the coming years having to face our pash rush once Mr. Young is on board.
  22. This quote pretty much sums it up for most if not all of us regarding knowing who Rivera will hire as his OC or how good of an OC O'Connell is and will become. All we know is what we read and what are eyes tell us when we watch. I know this, Rivera will watch film on DH, likely with O'Connell, and he'll have to decide if he sees progress and potential or not. If I'm Rivera I'm finding a way to keep him in some capacity even if it does mean making him the OC. Don't mess with something if it's working and getting results.
