  1. We need Montez Sweat to realize his draft potential and I think he will. Paired with Chase Young and the bulls up the middle it could get ugly for some QB's....particularly Daniel Jones and Carson Wentz. We should pray for them. Reggie White was #92.....I like it.
  2. Yeah, what I'm talking about is the signability of all 4 of the 1st rounders we just took the past 4 years. The talent and depth should make us the scariest d-line in the NFC East for years to come. But the depth makes me wonder if we could get something for one of them?
  3. The most interesting reasons I've seen for the Skins trading back and not taking Young is the fact that they would have that many 1st round picks on the offensive line. This makes me wonder, if we do want to take Young, would we look to deal either Payne or Allen since they are both 1st rounders too? With Ion and Settle, it would make sense to deal one of two Bama boys for a 1st round pick or a player that could fill a spot at LB or on the 0-line possibly? Is having too many 1st round picks on the d-line a real concern moving forward???? I would think it is a legit concern.
  4. Since you put it this way, I would almost prefer the Bengals to draft Young and take the haul we will get for Burrow. Young becomes the Bruce Smith of the AFC and we draft a slew of players filling holes.
  5. Reading up on Foster he is a long ways off from getting on the football field if he ever does again. That being said, if he can come back and play at the level he used to play at, I'm very excited to see him in the middle of our defense. I just think it's a long-shot that he's ready to start the season. The guy just recently started getting feeling back in his foot from severe nerve damage....
  6. To your point, I heard some media guy suggest that giving up an RGlll type of package to get the QB who will solve your QB position for the next 10 years or so is well worth it. If Tua is considered to be that kind of QB teams will pony up crazy assets to get him. Some franchises, including the Redskins, haven't had a generational QB in over 50 years...they are that hard to find. I envy fans of the Pats and Steelers who have had QB's for 15 years and know they'll be contenders just about every year. We haven't had that here and neither have lots of other cities/organizations. A can't miss QB like Manning and others is just too hard to find so you need to pounce when you can. I say this in all sincerity, if Tua nails his pro day, the Redskins are going to have to give some consideration into taking him. It wouldn't be responsible if they didn't. I don't think they will, but I don't know what kind of grades he's gonna get from the scouts compared to what Haskins is right now?
  7. That's a lot of picks to move up one spot in the draft just to get Trubisky though. It shows how much teams fall in love with a guy and what they'll do to get him. Here's more food for thought on Tua, in listening to some of the guys talking on the Sirius NFL channel (Charlie Weis, Solomon Wilcox), supposedly Alabama guys are very pro ready when they enter the draft. More so than most other schools. I'm gonna bet Tua is gonna be even more sought after because of this....on top of his great skill set. Tua also checks off the boxes as a good face of the franchise and has played big in big games....he is gonna be highly sought after if he shows he's healthy and teams are gonna make very attractive offers to the Skins to move up and get him.
  8. The Bears gave up 4 picks to move up one spot from 3 to 2...look it up. Three picks the year they drafted Trubisky and 1 pick the following year. And that was for Trubisky, not Tua.
  9. The bottom line is none of us, no media guy, no beatwriter, no former GM and no fan can say what any team will offer for a guy they want. Whoever says there won't be an RGlll type offer is just guessing or assuming. The Bears gave up a ****load to move up ONE spot to draft Trubisky so I have no doubt teams would give up even more to get Tua or one of the other QB's. Franchise QB's don't come up often and teams know it....they will overpay to get one if given the chance. I actually think Detroit may make us a sick offer to move up one spot to grab a QB out of fear that we will deal with someone else.....this is gonna be a craaaaazy ride for us Skins fans.
  10. Ha, ha....maybe? It would be unprecedented to keep trading back but it sure would be fun. Can't wait to see how crazy the rumors get....and what we do.
  11. I can see us getting 3 firsts and a 2nd from Miami, two firsts this year and one next....Coupled with the 2nd rounder that's a nice haul. All told we'd have two 1sts this year, 2 next year and our second back this year which could equate to a top end TE or WR.... Could you imagine if all four of the QB's grade out to be can't miss prospects so to speak? We could trade back to 3 or 5 with Miami and then trade back again with Tampa Bay or San Diego....Vegas? We could end up with like five 1st round picks.....Gold Jerry, Gold!!!!
  12. I've believed all along that IF Tua nails his pro day we are gonna get an RGlll type offer, or more, to move out of #2 pick and I think we are gonna have to take it, especially if Miami's 2021 pick is part of the deal. Being in the position we are in, with the potential to add more than one stud over the course of 2 years or more, trumps drafting Chase Young in my opinion. The 2021 Dolphins pick could be in the top again which gives us the potential to trade back again and continue to rack up picks and fill holes for years to come. The possibilities will continue to be endless. Not to mention getting their 2021 pick along with our own 1st rounder provides the new regime insurance to draft a QB if they are not sold on Haskins as a pro QB. One more thing, what if Tua, Jordan Love and Herbert all nail their pro days? Then it becomes a matter or who wants who and how bad....we are in the catbird seat as is Detroit.
  13. I don't see the Bears being players either but here's a question, would you trade out of #2 with the Bears for this offer: Skins get: Khalil Mack, Bears two #2 picks, Bears 2021 first round pick Bears get: Skins #2 overall pick, Alex Smith Mack turns 29 on Feb 22nd.
  14. No worries, teams that pick #1 who need a QB take the QB....And I think the only team crazy enough to offer a King's ransom to get to #1 would be Miami or Vegas and they'd both take Burrow or Tua.....in my opinion you should be more worried that the Skins trade out of 2 and leave Young there for the NYG to select at #4 without having to make a deal at all.
  15. Foster and his agent disagree with you....we will see. Guess we'll know a lot more in the May/June minicamps......
  16. Last game changing defensive player the Skins had was unquestionably Sean Taylor. He put fear in opposing players. Go on Youtube and look up highlights of Reuben Foster and tell me you don't see similarities between him and ST. God I hope he comes back fully healthy. We will terrify the rest of the league with our defense. I 99% agree with you BUT, if Tua grades out to be a can't miss NFL QB that is a more important position to nail down than DE. I would hate to miss on Michael Jordan because we were in love with Sam Bowie....some of you may have to do some research on that reference.
  17. I am hopeful that Young is the kind of player who can be moved around all over the defensive line but someone on this site told me that's not the case. Would be great for coordinators to have no clue where he's gonna line up on any given play.
  18. And this clown has us throwing in pick 66???? Not happening.
  19. Just think about the possibilities if Montez Sweat and Reuben Foster take strides to live up to their potential after we add Chase Young to the defense? I think we will be at least as explosive as Jacksonville was about 3 years ago when they had all of those 1st round picks on their defense. Really, if we just focus on building the offensive line into a great running attack we will be immediate contenders if Dwayne is just a solid game manager. That in itself is exciting.... Lots of ifs there but JDR has some serious toys to play with once we add Chase.
  20. I agree....gonna be tough for any rookie to come out of college and match the impact Bosa has had in the league. I say this because I think the learning curve in the NFL is different for all rookies and Bosa seemed to get comfortable very quickly. I think that alone is gonna be tough for Chase Young to match let alone do better.
  21. I don't know if Young can be more dominant than Bosa....I guess we'll see soon enough. Bosa has a motor that's tough to match.
  22. I'm with you....it's not that I don't want Young, however, if we can get a sick haul from Miami and fill multiple spots, I'm all in on that. I don't believe in can't miss prospects for multiple reasons.....steroids, injuries, intangibles, etc..... I was beyond excited when we drafted Lavar Arrington, a freak athlete who dominated in college. He was a huge disappointment for us because of his undisciplined style of play. Make no mistake, if we pick Young because our staff loves him then I'm juiced, but if we get 4 picks for our #2 pick and I see Simmons, Espenesa, Delpit and a corner in the 2nd round starting this September I think I'm even more pumped. That leaves the rest of the draft and free agency to get a TE, WR and offensive linemen.....Wow, that's a hell of an offseason.
  23. I think this way of thinking is premature.....it has nothing to do with the teams ahead of them as much as who Miami might be afraid of trading up ahead of them to get Tua. I know you know this, but I'm just trying to say there is a long way to go before late April and how great of a prospect Tua might be.
  24. I hate asking myself this question but bare with me..... If the Redskins ask themselves "who do we like better out of Haskins and Tua, assuming Tua is healthy" how do they not take Tua if they think Tua will be a better pro QB? With all of us hoping the Skins take the super hyped Chase Young, what if we completely overlook Tua and he goes on to be a great NFL QB while Haskins struggles? Remember the Blazers taking Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan because Bowie was a "can't miss" prospect? I think a responsible organization will give grades on Tua and see where he stacks up as a propect compared to guys in the league when they were prospects. How does Tua compare to guys like Carson Wentz, Baker Mayfield, Kyrie Murray, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes? What if he has grades similar to a Mahomes (which I doubt)? Is it possible that we are all overlooking what could be a generational QB just because we took Haskins last year? These are the kind of mistakes losing teams make if it would play out that way....From what I could see, Tua looks much more polished as a QB than Haskins ever has. I know these questions aren't popular or fun but it's a legit question....especially with the uncertainty surrounding Haskins. Look how many times the Browns have missed on getting the right QB when picking at the top of the draft....who's to say Haskins will be a good pro QB? We all hope he will but none of us know for sure....I'm not pushing for Tua but I still think there's a ways to go with this decision especially given the fact we have a new coach who did not draft Dwayne....
  25. Maybe this will come down to how close Simmons is to Young as an NFL prospect and how he fits into what JDR likes to do on defense? If the gap isn't that far between the two then maybe they do trade out and go with Simmons and however many other players they get in a deal? But if Young is just that far ahead they stay put.
