  1. I agree with all of this. There is no way he's getting on that flight to Brazil undecided. It's not like it's going to be halftime at the World Cup Finals and he goes,"Oh! It just hit me, I should stay in Miami." I feel he chose Cleveland on Monday or Tuesday, probably told Pat Riley his decision and that is why Riley has got Wade trying to change his mind today. And the real reason he hasn't said anything is he doesn't want the World Cup finals and it's results raining on his ego parade. There is no other explanation for having made your decision, and you sit on revealing it while 95% of the league's free agents are in limbo about whether they're going to be moving to a new city in a couple of months, staying where they are, or possibly not in the league anymore and need to figure out retirement. Selfish doesn't even begin to describe this.
  2. I can't stand Wilbon. Nice guy, met him once at a fundraiser, but his complete pessimism for all DC sports and unrealistic expectations for Chicago sports is old and annoying.
  3. I literally just LOL'd at work! That would be awesome, and I'll boo Lebron next season like a good WWE fan should.
  4. I think his love for the Redskins trumps all of that.
  5. I knew when the playoffs was still going on that we likely wouldn't be able to retain Ariza. I was just worried we would lose Gortat as well. Webster is a decent starter, when healthy, and this will give some much needed minutes to Porter, who needs to prove he's worth the high draft pick.
  6. You can't just automatically say Beal is exactly like Ray Allen in his prime(not a bad thing), and claim he won't be a factor in clutch time. He clearly had plenty of clutch shots in this year's playoffs already. Furthermore, Melo will NEVER win anything. Because he wants the offense to flow through him, and he simply isn't good enough for that to happen and his team wins. Haven't this team, lead by Wall and Beal, already gone further in the playoffs than Melo has? This offense works when Wall is dominating the rock and distributing, not Melo going iso 75% of the time and the rest of the team standing around watching.
  7. This is the rumor that comes out for every NBA team that has locker room issues.
  8. I still think we'll win this series because those guys are Young and The Restless over there, and not a single player on their team seems to be able to play at a high level for a full series.
  9. This is more true for the NBA than any other major sports league. I believe the true cure-all for all the NBA's needs is to turn the Developmental League into a true farm system, like what MLB has. This will allow those franchises like Milwaukee and Toronto, who have a 0% chance to ever win a NBA title right now, the opportunity to develop their own talent and build a team that can compete. A much better model than what we currently have. Teams tanking an entire season(Sixers) in order to draft high enough to select one of the only four rookies in an entire draft to have any type of impact for your team. Only as usual, those four players will be too raw themselves and disappoint. In baseball, Strasburg and Harper were in the minors until they were ready for the majors. In the NBA, we try to convince ourselves Kwame Brown, Michael Oluwakandi and Anthony Bennett were really worth the #1 overall pick when they could've used a developmental league full of aging, over-the-hill, crafty veterans and young guys who dominated in college but washed out of the NBA, as competition to hone their game and learn how to play the pro game. And like MLB, they could freeze their pro contracts while they are in the DLeague...freeing up essential cap space that no one ever has, and allows the teams to keep that player longer.
  10. This seems to be happening a lot to African American athletes. Just a shame. Thank God he wasn't injured and decided to stay home, or he could've ended up like Sean Taylor.
  11. Oh, don't talk like that. I used to have that negative, woe-is-us, "we're cursed" mentality too. You'll never enjoy sports if you never have any optimism.
  12. The Wizards are all but assured to make it to the Eastern Conference finals( I can't believe I just typed that), but what if they were actually able to defeat the Miami Heat?? Even if it was possible by both teams playing straight up, I don't see the league letting that happen. Lebron will be allowed to take six steps in the paint on a game-winning shot again. BTW, I'm hoping Brooklyn wins out and is playing Miami next round. I think they have a better shot of winning some games and forcing Miami to grind out their wins before playing us.
  13. I think this show may have been mentioned once or twice, but if you're into heroes and comics, Arrow is actually a very good show. Not in the realm of Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones, but it is entertaining and full of action.
