When I think about the McCaffrey name I don't think of Ed's great career or Christian's all pro career currently happening. I think back to Ed's gruesome broken leg the MNF game the night before 9/11. Little did we know the world would change hours later. Luke was just 5 months old. Now he is a pro football player and most of us here are old.

I just got done talking to a good friend of mine who is an Arizona State alum and Patriots fan. He badly wants Daniels to slide to the Pats. Mind you Daniels spurned his beloved Sun Devils a few years ago but he does not blame him at all. He’s says how much of a mess things were under Herm the last few years. Big divide and separation with the coaching staff and downright nasty stuff going on behind the scenes. His wife actually works in the athletic department with another sport so he knows some things. Anyway, he brought up something that I hadn’t noticed with the talk with Daniels. He compares him a lot to Joe Burrow. Obviously not in style but in that both were transfers, both played at LSU, both in school 5 years, both had amazing WRs their Heisman winning year (Burrow even more so than Daniels) and both had 1 of the best passing seasons of all time before entering the draft. Burrow didn’t play as much before the breakout season but Daniels had some pretty good years with one bad one (last year in Tempe). Daniels started day 1 on campus and only threw 2 picks out of 338 passes as a true freshman. None of this dispels the thought of his frame or possible injury but speaks to his passing ability. I think many under value how good he’s been throwing the ball for the most part of his college career.

I am perfectly fine with anyone that we take because after the Snyder Error I am excited to get back to being a great organization which means being all in on GMAP and his decisions until proven wrong. Having said that, with the expectation that Daniels is the QB I go back to last football season. It was college and obviously it doesn't mean anything moving forward but as an ACC football fan (Miami guy) I rarely watch much other than the ACC. The last half of the year I would make a point to watch LSU for Daniels. He was electrifying so I choose to hope that can continue in the NFL. I choose hope for the first time in many years.

Only thing left for this fan base to combust is for Daniels to wear number 10

Catch him enjoying his love of "junk food" at the Twin Peaks in Pembroke Pines. I've ran into him there a few times. I watched the Colorado and TCU game there with him last year. It's not quite his McDonald's kick but it ranks up there for him. You guys are miracle workers in this thread. I visit it about once a week until the last few weeks when its been 2-3 times a week. Hard to catch up on it all but I respect the work including the countless redundant posts by the people dug in with their choice of pick.

The work KOC did with Haskins once he took over playcalling the last part of Haskins rookie year is some of the best coaching that has been done here in quite some time. Unfortunately it also set us back as an organization thinking we possibly had something to work with when we had the number 2 pick in hand. Then when Rivera went with Scott Turner instead of bringing KOC back it was a major mistake on Rivera's part and led to the slide we've had the last few years.

To put it into perspective of not having 11 wins since 1991. I was a sophomore in high school in 1991. I am a grandfather of 4 now. No seasons of 11 wins in between. An entire generation and then some.
