Major Harris
Anybody go to this? I have a few friends that have been going to and raving about this thing for years. I am not into music festivals, so I've never went. This year, they've decided to plop it down less than 15 miles from my house in Summit Point, WV. You probably have never heard of it, unless you race cars. The reason for that is Summit Point is a tiny little back road town surrounded by farms. I have no idea how over 20k people are getting in and out of there in any kind of efficient manner. I think it's a horrible idea. I can't imagine a big economic boost outside of the 7-11 and sheetz getting wiped out on the first and last days of the festival. That said, there's a 20k person party ten minutes from home. A one day pass won't hurt will it?
BootzJackson
I lived in Charles Town, right off of country club road, when Lollapalooza came to the track and that was a complete disaster, I know with the track getting a casino they have upgraded the roads quite a bit but getting through town will still be a mess. Summit point road sucks, I totaled a car on the curve by the library, I can only imagine what a bunch of out of towners partying will do on those curves. That being said I checked the lineup out and Primus coming to c-town would be worth a visit. My folks still live on country club road so I might have to check it out. I agree that it will be a mess getting in and out of there, but it will be fun
Slateman
You live 15 miles down the road. You could probably rent out an extra room/couch on your and recoup the cost of tickets.
BatteredFanSyndrome
Last I heard, the opposition is still out there trying to get this thing cancelled. A lot of folks sum it up to be a bunch of old fuddy-duddies not wanting to bring this element into their county but to me its more about the traffic. Our local police are going to have a field day busting folks coming into J County for this. I've never been but many of my friends attend it near every year. Let's just say it does its best job to be Woodstock of this generation when it comes to drugs.....and the music.
Kosher Ham
Never been myself. I would try something like this under the right circumstances... Hotel, re-entry, shuttle or something. Even a maxed out camper would do. I refuse to sit out there for days on end without a shower.
Kosher Ham
Certainly the whole rain or shine thing for me is not interesting. Indoors and then some of those prices are reasonable.
Captain Wiggles
You should go. Especially if you've never been to a Primus, Moe, DSO or STS9 show . They're all definitely worth seeing.
The Evil Genius
I can't imagine the infrastructure of Jefferson County being able to hold this.
Captain Wiggles
I can't imagine the infrastructure of Jefferson County being able to hold this. I thought the same thing about the first Bonaroo in TN. Traffic was nightmare getting in but other than that it was like any other large festival I've been to. Seriously MH its fifteen minutes from your house go. Even if you don't go into the shows the lot scene will be worth checking out. Especially if you've never been to something similar.
Kosher Ham
I would not be going to see Primus. They sound like a weak garage band. I've been to dueling piano bars that are better.
The Evil Genius
Cake is worth the price of admission though. Fantastic set when I saw them a few years ago.

Last I heard, the opposition is still out there trying to get this thing cancelled.
