Mark The Homer
Note to self: PM Mark the Homer before buying any tickets on eBay. Haha Here's another one to stay away from for the usual reasons (i.e. no section listed, no row number listed, so you know it is therefore in the 200 level, back of endzone, row 24 or close to it, and probably obstructed view). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6627838552&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D6627838552%26fvi%3D1
Mark The Homer
Something wrong here. Seller supposedly lives in Ohio, but wants to be paid in British Pounds. He doesn't accept paypal. He wants check or money order. He wants to be contacted only by his email listed, not through eBay. Low starting bid, no reserve. Only a one-day auction, so he wants to get in and out real fast, before he gets shut down. Sure does look like a scam. I'll turn him in. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7765886226&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D7765886226%26fvi%3D1
photo4u
What gives is that you should be very very cautious when buying anything on eBay. There are a lot of schisters pawning off their undesirable stuff. Most of the time they are misrepresenting what they are selling or leave out damming facts like there is a terrible dirty sock smell emitting from the A/C of the minivan you are bidding on or say that the phone that you are bidding on comes with the phone and base only just to find out that the A/C adapter and battery are not included.I have had mostly positive experiences on eBay but it took a couple of negative experiences like this to realize that not everyone plays by the same playbook as I do. It is unfortuate. True you must be careful but everything isn't bad. I am selling my tickets also. They are not cheap, but they are WONDERFUL seats. They are in the Loge section of the stadium, where some say the stuck up people stay. I'm not stuck up, neither are any of my friends that go, and they cheer just as loud up there. They might not get as drunk as other parts of the stadium, but I kinda see that as a plus!!! I would like to enjoy the game rather then worry about being puked on by some jerk!! The tickets are going on ebay today. Check them out if you would like. There in the Loge part of the stadium(those are endzone seats. Section 340. The first three seats. They should be up by 3 p.m. today. May 10th.

RiggoReincarnated
Hi, I'm bumping this thread because I don't have season tickets, but am looking to go to some games this year and pay (last year I was able to get tickets for a couple games through a friend who was out of town for free). Can anybody tell me an approximate/fair price range for tickets in the following areas: 100s: 200s: 300s: 400s: I've heard about obstructed view seats in the 200s, so I figure to avoid them altogether. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Mark The Homer
I think it's up to the individual buyer. I generally would not pay more than $300 for a pair in the club section on the sidelines, which basically means I don't get to sit in the club section. The Redskins sell season ticket packages for over eight grand per pair of seats. For the Vikings game: Ebay had an auction of two lower levels near the 50, ended at $560. A pair of dream seats on the sidelines went for $476. The rest of the auctions went for between $200 and $180, and they were all upper deck endzone seats, up high. I personally would not pay that much for endzone seats. Most of these auctioned tickets are sold by Snyder for about $1,000 per pair for the season. I'd wait until August. RDSKNfaithfull
Mark.................... What do you know about this guy Orgizw??????????? He has been selling a lot of tickets LL He has had 3 sets of 4 selling them in twos:whoknows: Now he has 4 LL with a green pass. The problem is 3 of his auctions have ended and he has no feedback this month??? I was thinking about getting tickets from him and he told me to mail him a personal check he wanted to avoid the fees from Paypal and Ebay  His feedback otherwise is 100% though????? Can you check it out for me P.I. lol http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=orgizw&iid=6630181111&frm=

Mark The Homer
re Orgizw, I've never heard of him. I don't see anything blatant that makes him look like a scammer. He may be an amateur broker, as he's from out of town and he's sold tix to other events in other areas. He probably does not have feedback because the Redskins ticket buyers have no reason to leave feedback, since the buyers have not and will not receive tix until August. Requiring a personal check when he clearly advertises paypal is shady. Paypal Buyer Protection won't protect you, though, because by the time you know you were cheated, the sixty day fraud protection period will have passed. I personally would not buy season tix from anybody at this time of the year unless they were local, I could meet them in person, look them in the eye, and then have them sign a written contract agreement. Ok, on to other things. Here's another auction I don't like: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6630459148&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D6630459148%26fvi%3D1 The pic is misleading, probably deliberately. He is selling seats in the left-hand side of 329 (a back corner section on the visiting side), the pic is from the section 307 (a middle corner section on the home side). Edit: His auction didn't sell, so he dropped the price a little, added green parking, and relisted. Much better deal now (assuming he's legit), if you don't mind sitting in the back corner: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6632695025&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D6632695025%26fvi%3D1

MarkB452
The 200 level are indeed good seats, if you get in the first twelve rows or so. Starting at about Row 3, your seat is even covered in event of rain (ironically, it hasn't rained for one minute of regular season play since Snyder installed these covered seats). The pillars start at about Row 13. They are so big, they take up two rows. The total number of rows is now 24 (it was 14 before 2004). The number of seats in each row is about 24-26. All pillars in the sidelines sections are exactly in the middle of those sections. So, if you can find out the seat number in an eBay auction, you can calculate where the pillar is located in relation to your seat and your view of the field. If you're behind Row 14, the closer to the aisle you are, the more likely you'll have a clear view. As you move back, it's becomes more and more likely your view will be at least partially blocked by a pillar. The other problem with the area is, even with a clear view of the field from the back, it's sort of like watching the game from inside a cave. It's dark in there. And from the last row, the overhang in front of you is so low, you can just barely see over the top of the cheerleaders heads on the opposite side of the field. Another problem with the area is that the incline is less. Normally, football stadiums increase the incline with height so that fans can see over the heads of people sitting in front of them. But Snyder actually decreased the incline so that he could install more rows without hitting the ceiling. This results in an increase in likelyhood that somebody's head will be blocking part of the playing field. Here's another auction where something doesn't jive. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6612442371&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsearch%2Fsearch.dll%3Ffrom%3DR40%26satitle%3D6612442371%26fvi%3D1 It's impossible to sit in Section 221, Row 17, on the 43 yard line, and not have a pillar in front of you, because I know for a fact there is a huge pillar exactly on the 43 yard line. I even have a photo of it. Also, the photo in his listing is misleading. His photo is from section 121, but his seats are deep within the cave of 221. The fact is, from his seats, you can't see any lights or even any part of the upper deck, or even the club section, because of the overhang. He seems to be a reputable seller. So, I assume he is mistaken regarding the alignment with the yard lines. >> I too have looked at the seats in this area and agree with you 100%. As long as you are within about 6 seats of the aisle you are generally OK, but the further back you go the worse off you are.
More Complete
Man, I am confused. Is there a list of "obstructed" seats somewhere? I've been to FedEx half a dozen times and I've been luck enough not to get a bad seat. However, I'm confused about where they are and don't want to spend my hard earned cash on some crappy seats. Seriously, a LIST of the seats that have an "obstucted view" would be really really helpfull.
