chow184
if we turned Griffin into a star we can turn Simon into somthing also. pending we have the cap space to manuver a deal.

bulldog
the Eagles freed him up during a period when teams around the NFL generally don't have any cap room to acquire such a player, they are not stupid. They realize they need Simon to play this year at the franchise tender for the defense to be solid inside.
RDSKNfaithfull
They don't need him Patterson is impressing everybody and Rayburn and the boys played better than the out of shape pass rusher.
Walking Deadman
We can't afford him......just hope Dallas or the Giants can't pick him up either. This could be a big loss for the Eagles, but they have been playing well without him. Still--- :eaglesuck (I just had to say it )
bulldog
again, who has a cool $3 million to offer up for Simon at this point of the preseason? either he plays the one year for the Eagles or he takes a bath financially to move on to another team. that is the choice that confronts him. Art
I'd take him in a heartbeat. Of course, he'll cost more than we can afford right now. Still, given his age and past performance, Williams is a guy who could really provide some motivation to Simon and make him something special. Not that Johnson isn't that type of coach, but, sometimes a tone deafness can develop to some degree and the fit just doesn't work out. Simon, though, would play the same role as Griffin and therefore is not a great fit for us. This does strike me as a pretty cheap move by the Eagles, and, if done by the Redskins, would be evil Danny Snyder screwing over a player . chow184
Griffin was a bum for the Giants the year we signed him... if he deadicated himself we would have a great interior pass rush on our D line and that would likely put the D over the top. Corey didn't sign the tag and didn't report to camp why pay somebody 5.1mill or whatever it was when he most likely will come in out of shape and half the player he was 2 years ago. Walking Deadman
What do you think would be a "good" price for him? Offer Vet minimum with incentives and a option for future long-term contract. Somebody will pick him up......don't worry about that.
GrimReefa
Ravens were trying to get this guy earlier this offseason. I'll bet they make a push for him...

scskin
I would take him. The only problem would be a confidence issue with the DT's on the roster, except Griffin.

He wanted way too much money (as far as a long term deal goes) for a guy who hadn't played well the past two years. He then wouldn't sign the tender. He couldn't agree to terms with either Baltimore or Cincy when the Eagles had agreed to trade him. Why pay someone $5.1 to come to camp a week before opening day, fat and out of shape? bulldog
truth be told, the Skins don't need Simon. he would be additional value at an already strong position. what a shame a guy like Jason Taylor or KGB isn't available, those are guys we could plug into this defense and not miss a beat. RDSKNfaithfull
BTW he is not the same player as Griffin. Simon is a pass rusher and is a liability against the Run. Next to Griffin though he could put up some big numbers. He is not worth the price Hollis Thomas said he was the laziest guy on the team.
