Where did Moss trade rumor originate?

so there is ZERO substance to that "rumor"?

Peter Queen on Inside the NFL on HBO stated that Vikings were potentially going to shopping Moss around during the offseason, if not because of his, because of his contract and Red McCommbs trying to sell the franchise so he can have shot at the LA franchise.

The vikings are challenging the ruling on the feild that Randy Moss will be traded Washington Redskins for and arm and a leg.

After futher review, and a whipping on Packers in Green Bay, the ruling on the feild is overturned. Randy Moss is too damn good and too damn expensive to be traded from the Vikings. Extremeskins will be penalized one week of rumors in that no more snowball chance in hell trade threads may be started.

There were rumors LAST YEAR in the Miami newspapers before the 2003 season started, that the Vikings and Miami were talking about a deal for Moss. Reportedly Red McComb wanted to unload Moss, but Tice denied that there had been any talk about a deal.

That was before Ricky Williams retired as I recall and before they later acquired WR Marty Booker.

There were also rumors in the Miami newpapers that Moss would be traded to Arizona and reunited with Denny Green, but that was before Arizona drafted FitzGerald to go along with Bolden and Bryant Johnson.

The articles which I read in Miami newspapers -- not in Minnesota newspapers -- said the asking price for Moss was reportedly a 3-for-1 deal. Like two #1 draft picks and a quality player for example.

Minnesota at the time was reportedly about $20+ million UNDER the cap, so they could easily absorb the cap hit.

There was no mention of the Skins being involved. Besides they couldn't take on Moss's contract unless he was willing to redo it, and even then it might not be possible. :)

This should put an end to the Moss trade rumors.

-- Vikings Won't Trade Moss --

Sun Jan 9, 2005 --from FFMastermind.com

The Star Tribune reports Rob Brzezinski, vice president of football operations for the Vikings said the team would not consider trading WR Randy Moss for defensive help. "Moss may be the best player in the league," Brzezinski said. "We have never talked about trading him, and it won't happen."
