Skins26
I dont know who watched Monday Night Live last night. Its a new show locally here on Comcast for 2 hours before MNF. It was actually really good, Chick Hernandez is on it, which isnt really a good thing, but Doc Walker is on it and Shawn Springs is going to be on it every week and every week he'll bring a different guest. Last night it was Cooley. Anyways they were talking about the Dallas game and Cooley said he grew up hating the Cowboys anyways. Also Cooley said he took a visit to Dallas before the draft and Bill Parcells told him that he will never be anything more than a backup in the NFL. So he says he even got more motivation to succeed against Dallas. I wonder why you'd tell that to someone when they are taking a visit b/c you are thinking of drafting them. That just seems stupid to me. Just trying to put somebody down.
afparent
How can Parcells say that and what was the purpose! If you aint goin to draft him then don't!
NotInOurHouse
parcells is a fat fool to say something like that...i hope we beat them by 4 touchdowns and cooley gets a score
Sweet Sassy Molassy
That's the most classless thing I've ever heard/read. Considering what has come from some of the lower draft picks (ex. TO, Tom Brady, etc.), I would expect Parcells to be a little more tight lipped.
Blondie
I saw that last night. You just have to wonder what the heck Parcells was thinking. Was this for motivation or was he just being a butt? Either way, I am glad Cooley was drafted by the Redskins so when he makes a TD, he can trot over to the boys bench and smile in Parcell's face. I would take a penalty of 15 for that picture!! Blondie

Blondie id like for cooley to come to the center of our field and put the ball down and look at parcells just like emmitt did a few years ago
Blondie
That is so much like TO, I don't want him to do that. Lord, I would never want any of our guys to copy T.O. Blondie
skns4life
i hope cooley makes the game winning touchdown in the last seconds and just stares at Parcells the whole time!
bulldog
Like Jason Whitten and Dan Campbell remind us of Dave Casper and Mark Bavaro
Skins26
The thing is that Cooley seems like such a nice guy. He's smart, he's coming from basically a high school and he works his ass off. Why would you say something like that, to a guy like Cooley. Well, joke is on Parcells b/c Cooley started his first game as a pro. And i'd like to see pro bowl safety Roy Williams try to cover Cooley, b/c I gurantee he couldnt. chiefhogskin48
Jason Whitten is actually doing a darn good impression of Mark Bavaro.
The Full Monty
Parcells is wrong about Cooley and will be proven wrong on Monday night. So long as the QB play is smart, expect Cooley to get some quality touches and maybe a TD or two.

Roy Williams has not met a TE in this league he couldn't cover. Ask Shockey about that. You will find that out on monday.
bulldog
I think he meant that Williams would have a hard time covering Cooley once Rasby at 265 sets a pick for him

Cskin
I think Cooley has better hands than Whitten, although right now Whitten might be a better blocker.
bubba9497
Witten is a Stud. Damn shame he was drafted by Dallas.
Hooper
Whitten is awesome. Roy Williams is even more overrated then LaVar.

You will find that out on monday. Has Roy Williams ever even had to cover a TE?? They usually try to hide the fact that he cannot cover by blitzing him a lot and playing him close to the line of scrimmage like an extra LB, so he usually just has to worry about the run. I have never seen him in man coverage 1 on 1 with anybody. Roy Williams is a very very good safety, but he cannot cover very well, he's all run stuffing, blitzing, big hits, and some zone coverage. Skins26
And BTW- I forget where I read this but someone did ask Shockey who has done the best job covering him. His answer: Sean Taylor, in practice at Miami.
Walking Deadman
I've been pretty impressed with Cooley's work ethic and determination to be successful in the NFL. He looks like he is what the skins needed/ wanted and was worth the draft pick and allowing us to get Taylor. With the injury to KW2, Cooley may prove to be much more effective to the skins (at least this year) than Winslow is to the Browns

He's a bruiser, and a fast and precise one at that. Cooley is the man, and honestly I believe he will contribute as much to our team's success as much as Taylor. This is righteous. Parcell's ignorant comments just add more fuel to the fire. Bring on Monday! :point2sky :wewantd:
RW31
I seriously doubt this happened. Maybe Colley was told something in that content about his abilities, and he is likely using it for motivation.
illone
This comin from the same guy who said "jap plays" on a post game press conference. I don't think Parcells spends too much time with his PR rep before speaking to anyone.... Not professional at all.
