Coach John Fox said after the 24-14 loss that Smith broke his fibula, but he gave no details about how long the receiver might be out. Smith was injured when he was tackled after a catch by Hannibal Navies with 4:52 to play. Navies fell on Smith's left leg while he pulled the receiver down from behind near the Carolina sideline. orlskinsfan Posted September 14, 2004 Share Posted September 14, 2004 when they showed the replay i instantly said he broke his leg, you could see it buckle, its unfortunate, he is a good receiver and will be missed by that offense...i guess delhomme will have to show if he is the real deal now playing without his top playmaker.
