For a guy who so far has had an up and down career and though he is coming off a great season and is looking like he's headed towards great things, he only has 1 year left on his current contract. In talking with the Lions they asked if Smoot was available. We said, sure, we'd give them Smoot and our No. 1 (13) for their No. 1 in the Top 5, a second and DT Rogers. I believe we even asked for a first next year too. It was one of those, "No, Smoot's not available, but if you give us that, we'll talk," kind of deals.
