techboy
1 million. 5 million. Those are pretty big numbers. Just out of curiosity, how many of you posting those kinds of numbers, think that you'll achieve them? 1 million in future money is easy, given 3% inflation per year, which is kind of a long term average, so what many people use. 1 million in 2010 money by age 57? Yes, I'm on track for that. Possibly more. Compound interest and market returns with low fees are powerful forces.
8181
Single, don't plan on getting married. $500,000. I would use $200,000 to buy a place in a more rural area, work part time for daily expenses like groceries and bills, and use the rest as a mix of luxury (vacations, dates, etc.) and security.
