Clayton, ESPN (or at least his ugly puss is right next to it: "Owner Dan Snyder might not like to admit this, but the defense is starting to come together under Marty Schottenheimer. Play-makers such as LaVar Arrington are making play after play. Champ Bailey is hard to beat at cornerback." Why oh why would that disappoint Snyder? That makes no sense at all. As for the Snyder comment, looks to me like another pot-shot. I doubt Snyder would have a problem with his first head coaching choice actually working out. If Smoot was healthy, I wouldn't be shocked to see Darrell and Smoot start to give Champ time to rest. Let's see, Snyder wants Schottenheimer to fail so that he can pay him $10M for 1 year's worth of work. Oh yeah, throw in another $2M because Marty is due that should Snyder fire him before 2 years is up. I don't care how much money one has, you don't casually throw away $12M for relatively nothing in return unless you're forced to. A week off should help and hopefully Central will get some more time in dime packages to get more experience which can only help him and us in 2k2.
