I lived in MD and Virginia and hated having that front plate. I lived in TN, FL and now SC and I liked being able to have my Redskins plate on the front of my truck. On my Jeep, I noticed I had dead tags, which I found weird because you are always notified by the DMV by mail to renew. I went to the DMV, and they had no records of my car being registers in their system by me. We were told that sometimes the wrong tags are deleted by accident when they are deleting old registrations. It seems stupid to have so much human error as a possibility. In the case of the OP, since it's so easy to delete the wrong records on accident, I bet it's just as easy to delete the "wrong" tags on purpose.
