The Top 5 No. 1 Draft Picks in the NBA Lottery Era (1985-prsent)

Shaq is #1 for me. An absolute freak of nature. Even as a little kid in the early-mid 90's, I remember just about everything about him. He was also a marketing machine, and was literally everywhere. Shoes, music, video games, clothes, movies. He was a phenomenon, and was dominant on the court.

Shaq/Duncan are interchangeable #1's, with Lebron right behind them. Lebron is 3rd because of his resume only, not based on skills. I can't decide between Shaq/Duncan. After that is most definitely Patrick Ewing. For #5, Iverson.

And Shaq was more dominant than Duncan.

I don't care about staying with a team in this discussion.

If we are talking about DRAFT PICKS staying with the team that drafted him or providing value to that team is frankly extremely important. Are we talking about best players or best draft picks?

Best draft pick is clearly Tim Duncan.
