NoCalMike
So far I would say the play from our safeties has been outstanding which could lead to an ever better pass defense than last season. Do you think that the fact that our safeties can actually cover and make plays will help at all in containing Shockey next week?
bubba9497
the new flexabilty of the LB's plus the Safteys combined, may make a long day for Shockey
Burgold
Well, think of it this way... would you expect better coverage with this year's group or last years. Really depends who Shockey gets matched up on. He'll be tough either way because of size and speed, but Iffy may make him dislike the middle and if he doesn't Lavar might just have something to say to him. fansince62
LB play - yes. Safety play? No. Better than before - but that is not saying much. I still see poor tackling on open field runs; way too many downfield pass recptions. neither safety has been particularly prominent. Ohalate was off his man and a goos pass would have been completed yesterday. I can't remember the play yesterday, but he takes risks that ocassionally lead to TDs for the other team. With him it's wj\hether the net tradeoff is positive. As for Bowen, he's made a few nice plays (the intercept for one) , but he has largely not made his presence felt IN MY OPINION. Jury is still out. let's hope these guys grow into the role.
