Bootleg
Why don't TV networks just stream their broadcast? And why is it that when someone does it (i.e. HomerTV), these people are considered "pirates" and face legal action? How exactly do the networks lose money when someone streams the broadcast over the Internet? I mean, people still have to watch the commercials just like it's on TV, isn't that good? PokerPacker
perhaps they get paid by cable providers not to broadcast online? :whoknows:
Toe Jam
Because that would make too much sense. This is America, you see.
Kosher Ham
Do you mean the live broadcast ? Watching a live show from your computer means you open another window when the commercials come up.
TimmySmith
I would assume it has something to do with ratings and the ability to measure viewership.
The 12th Commandment
All that plus the commercials aren't local and the affiliates make their money off the local adds. That's why I couldn't ask for the DC Fox channel and get all the games without the ticket.

I flip channels on the tv when the commercials pop up. At least I'd sill hear them on the computer even if I didn't see them.
Bostic Hog
If you can get the show on-line for free, that lowers the demand for cable -- cable pays these guys huge $$$ for the right to broadcast their show.
