Nationally. Bush investigated for 5 years.

Five years after the Bush administration began a crackdown on voter fraud, the Justice Department has turned up virtually no evidence of any organized effort to skew federal elections, according to court records and interviews.

Locally. Texas AG investigated for 2 years.

AUSTIN – More than two years ago, Republican Attorney General Greg Abbott pledged to root out what he called an epidemic of voter fraud in Texas.

He established a special unit in his office, tapped a $1.4 million federal crime-fighting grant and dispatched investigators.

Since then, Mr. Abbott has prosecuted 26 cases

MILLIONS of dollars. Serious investigations. Entire units created. ZERO results. Hell, these are Republican investigation, still nothing.

But yet, the boogie man lives for both sides.

IMO I just thought it was common knowledge of the DEM side in the corrupt side of vote fraud. .

Of course it is "common knowledge" for you that Democrats cheat while Republicans play fair. It is a fundamental part of conservative mythology, and you are extremely conservative. You probably think that ACORN stole elections too.

Guees what. If you talk to far left partisans about vote fraud, all they will talk about is how Diebolt machines are made by a company owned by a GOP partisan, and the software can be manipulated to vote GOP blah blah blah... it's part of their mythology.

Reality is, there is very little vote fraud these days by either side. Everyone screams about it at every election, and then six months later all the investigations turn up squat - but no one pays any attention to that part.

See, I think the problem is voter fraud is just like any other conspiracy theory. You have 1, maybe 2 examples of it in real life (dead voting for Kennedy in Chicago during a close election for example), and it becomes a standard. Why? Because deep down, and nuts as it sounds, it's so much easier on our psyches to believe that in close elections like these, there's a concerted effort to cheat rather than just gross incompetence that can result in an entire bag of ballots being "lost" for a day. Random chance and incompetence are harder to prove and fix than a grand concerted effort on behalf of 1 person or a group of people. Much like it's easier to claim Bush "stole" the election than blame a bunch of elderly people in Florida for not being able to properly read a ballot/vote, a grand conspiracy makes a much clearer target.

So rather than blame the incompetence, laziness, slopiness, etc. of a bunch of low-level nobody election officials, you can blame the candidate, the DNC, whatever high(ish) profile villian suits your fancy.

Are you being serious??The Dems have a substantial, long and documented history of vote fraud in all parts of the country. Call it what it is, unfortunately, our elections system(s) are very easily manipulated.

Funny, you sound exactly like a democrat in 2001

This particular election is an absolute mess. It cracks me up these days when supposedly bright people, our leaders, continually try to declare a winner and move one as if no one is paying attention.

I agree. This is kind of like '01 when Bush was "declared" the winner of the election before a recount was done.

Every election cycle some mysterious bag of uncounted votes appear from districts that pushes the Dem over the top. It can't be a coincidence every time.

Do you have credible evidence of this happening other times? There are what, something like 100,000 elections in the country every year, between state, county, city, town, you must have compiled quite a list of all these underhanded misgivings no? I would love to read about each case where a "bag of votes was found" and "pushed the democrat over the top".

New York House Race Up for Grabs After Vote Error Found

A tabulation error has thrown in doubt the election night victory of Rep. Tim Bishop on Long Island and given Republicans hope that they may add yet another seat to their new majority in the House of Representatives.

Officials in Suffolk County said the error, discovered Friday, shifted several thousand votes and erased Bishop's 3,500 vote margin. That put Republican challenger Randy Altshuler ahead by just under 400 votes in New York's 1st Congressional District. Bishop is seeking a fifth term in the district, which includes many of New York's beach communities.

Board of Elections Commissioner Wayne Rogers told the Associated Press the original numbers came in by telephone on election night and "must have been transcribed incorrectly"......

Officials in court for voter fraud: Councilman, Democratic election commissioner enter not-guilty plea

TROY — After being brought into a Rensselaer County courtroom in handcuffs, Councilman Michael LoPorto and Democratic Election Commissioner Edward McDonough pleaded not guilty Friday to a combined 116 felony counts alleging they falsified dozens of absentee votes.

The charges against them surround some 50 voters who were allegedly deprived of their vote in the Sept. 15, 2009, Working Families Party primary election in Troy. Many were residents of the city’s housing projects.

At a press conference later Friday, special prosecutor Trey Smith said many of the alleged victims are the county’s "less fortunate." Many do not speak English well, he said, while one is deaf and can communicate only in sign language.
