Veretax
Thought this might be interesting. If you were game planning for Dallas and you know you can only have 45 active players, who do you choose to sit, (we need 8 of them out of 53 if my math is correct). So here's our roster as of now. 61 Rabach, Casey C 63 Montgomery, Will C/G 66 Dockery, Derrick G 78 Lichtensteiger, Kory G 75 Hicks, Artis G/T 72 Williams, Trent OT 69 Brown, Jammal OT 74 Heyer, Stephon OT 5 McNabb, Donovan QB 8 Grossman, Rex QB 3 Beck, John QB 26 Portis, Clinton RB 27 Johnson, Larry RB 35 Williams, Keiland RB 45 Sellers, Mike FB 36 Young, Darrel FB 82 Paulsen, Logan TE 47 Cooley, Chris TE 86 Davis, Fred TE 84 Galloway, Joey WR 89 Moss, Santana WR 13 Armstrong, Anthony WR 11 Thomas, Devin WR 16 Banks, Brandon WR 87 Williams, Roydell WR 96 Kemoeatu, Ma'ake NT 76 Bryant, Anthony NT 93 Daniels, Phillip DE 94 Carriker, Adam DE 90 Jarmon, Jeremy DE 79 Holliday, Vonnie DL 92 Haynesworth, Albert DT 64 Golston, Kedric DT 59 Fletcher, London ILB 52 McIntosh, Rocky ILB 53 Riley, Perry ILB 54 Blades, H.B. ILB 99 Carter, Andre OLB 97 Alexander, Lorenzo OLB 98 Orakpo, Brian OLB 95 Wilson, Chris OLB 30 Landry, LaRon S 37 Doughty, Reed S 48 Horton, Chris S 41 Moore, Kareem S 23 Hall, DeAngelo CB 22 Rogers, Carlos CB 25 Barnes, Kevin CB 31 Buchanon, Phillip CB 34 Westbrook, Byron CB 6 Bidwell, Josh P 57 Sundberg, Nick LS 4 Gano, Graham K Who would you consider placing as Inactive?? My stab at it. Who are the obvious Inactives right now? My assumptions 2 QB 4-5 WR Active 3 TE 1 FB 7 OL 2 RB (Johnson, Portis) 4 CB 3 S 2 NT 2-3 DE 2-3 DT (Haynesworth, Holliday Golston) 3 OLB 4 ILB 3 S 4 CB 3 SP John Beck QB Kareem Moore FS (Until he's fully healed from his injury, if he is then another Safety is inactive, my Guess Horton) At least one OL, My money is on Kory Lichtensteigher C/G, but it could be William Montgomery Darrel Young FB Keiland Williams RB Byron Westbrook CB (It's either him or Buchannon in my mind) Roydell Williams WR (1-2 WR are likely to be Inactive, I'm thinking Williams or Armstrong, I don't see Galloway, Moss or Thomas Sitting if healthy) Grab Bag Could be Brandon Banks, could be someone like Haynesworth, Holliday, Alexander or Wilson, Possibly Jarmon, Jarmon's probably who I'd pick, but then again could be DB. Does anyone disagree with my assessment? I figure Horton sits down if Moore is healthy, Now I might be wrong on Byron Westbrook, maybe they keep Banks active, and sit Buchannon down, I dunno. But those are what I'd expect to be inactive come. Figuring out #8 is tricky. Would we really leave the 100 Mil man Haynesworthh inactive? Could it be Holiday, Alexander, Wilson, or Jarmon? (Jarmon seems perhaps the better choice, give that leg a bit more time to heal before being thrown to the wolves. So let's see what we can come up with. Who are the eight guys you'd say, hey, you made the team, but your sitting Game 1 Vs Dallas?
MartinC
John Beck QB Kareem Moore FS (Until he's fully healed from his injury, if he is then another Safety is inactive, my Guess Horton) At least one OL, My money is on Kory Lichtensteigher C/G, but it could be William Montgomery Darrel Young FB Keiland Williams RB Byron Westbrook CB (It's either him or Buchannon in my mind) Roydell Williams WR (1-2 WR are likely to be Inactive, I'm thinking Williams or Armstrong, I don't see Galloway, Moss or Thomas Sitting if healthy) Grab Bag Could be Brandon Banks, could be someone like Haynesworth, Holliday, Alexander or Wilson, Possibly Jarmon, Jarmon's probably who I'd pick, but then again could be DB I think you are pretty close with that list. Lichtensteigher might get the nod as he is versatile. I dont think Armstrong will be inactive - in fact I think he will see a lot of snaps as the 3rd and maybe even 2nd receiver in some sets. So that leaves Williams in active for me. I also think Banks will be the 8th guy who does not dress. A lot will depend on how Haynesworth reacts this week and practices. If he half assess it and does not convince Shanny he will give 100% he may decide to sit him and carry Banks as a return specialist. Personally I dont think Banks is ready for prime time yet - I would be very nervous watching him under a punt on Sunday.
HailSkins83
1. John Beck 2. Kareem Moore 3. Kory Lichtensteigher 4. Roydell Williams 5. Jeremy Jarmon 6. Darrel Young 7. Vonnie Holiday 8. Logan Paulsen I think Banks and Westbrook got to be active cause there both on this team because of special teams play...And I can see sp having 3 RB's Active, Williams runs hard, and I actually think he is better than Johnson until he proves me wrong. Veretax
Those are two very good lists but you can see the give and take. I figure you keep at least one Tackle and Guard/Center in reserve, for 7, and then depending on your play calling, maybe you keep more WR than TE, or Vice Versa. I'm not sure about Williams starting over Paulsen, but if Williams does do more on Teams than Paulsen, that Could make sense. I think either Roydell Williams or Brandon Banks, or Anthony Armstrong will be inactive. I'd he Shocked if Devin Thomas does not dress and work KR duties at the very least. I feel its either Westbrook or Buchannon. I think Buchannon is the better corner, but might he sit if he's not as good a Gunner? Maybe. While some of what I picked may make sense, a lot can change by next sunday.

Bryant, Maake, and Haynesworth......1 of them could also sit.

Not sure they'll inactive an OL when they've only got three backups to begin with. Also think Banks will be inactive leaving Buchanan as PR and Thomas as KR...they'll play other ST positions that Banks cannot. Guess I'd switch Williams for Banks (assuming Williams will play on coverage teams,) and Lichtensteigher for Riley, as he is dinged up.
MrJL
Beck Moore Young Banks R. Williams Lichtensteiger Holliday Riley Anthony Armstrong and Devin Thomas both play special teams so we won't need Banks or Williams. We won't need 8 DL active, but I suppose Jarmon could be in place of Holliday. Paulson could go inactive if seven OL isn't enough.
HailSkins83
I was under the impression Brandon Banks was only on this team to be our Punt Returner, I see us giving him that shot against Dallas, and if he bombs we can move Austin from practice squad... Who do you guys see returning punts?
