JaMarcus Russell until recently was a quarterback for the Oakland Raiders and may literally be one of the biggest NFL draft busts of all time.

Just The Facts

Before being released, rumors were that Russell arrived at training camp weighing 300 pounds, far above the 255 he weighed in his prime. 3 years ago.

When Jamarcus Russell sits around the mansion he bought with his $31 million guaranteed from the Raiders, he literally sits around the mansion he bought with his $31 million.

When JaMarcus Russell steps back from the snap, he goes "beep beep beep".

JaMarcus Russell is so fat that his offensive linemen don't exactly form a pocket around him so much as gravitationally fall into orbit.
More hiliarity at the link, including, of course, shots at Al Davis.

I would not mind him getting picked up by the skins at all... If he had any disicpline and had a couple of years to learn under McNabb he could actually be turned around... Desire can be fixed just ask Mike Williams...

Desire can't be fixed by anyone but Jamarcus. No point in any team taking a chance on him until after the 2010 season at the earliest. If he's managed to get in decent shape by then and is willing to accept a small, incentive-based deal then you take a chance on him. Not now.

He is the biggest bust no pun intended. There might be an argument for teh guy that the colts picked up in 1992 but his was injuries not performance

Steven Entman? I don't even see why he would be in the discussion. Plenty of #1s never panned out and I don't think the expecations for him were any higher than any other #1 pick. Its not like he won the Heisman.

Seeing the summary of Jamarcus Russell's career makes me think he planned this the whole time he was in college. He just wanted a payday that would set him for life.

Think about it, 31.5 million guaranteed with out ever taking one snap. I could live off of 31.5 million without ever working another day in my life. He got his money, that's all he wanted, not interested in football. What a fool. The way he spends his money, it will never last and he will be broke before too long and on the street like MC Hammer. What a waste!

On the other hand he did get drafted by the "Black Hole". In recent years i can't think of anyone who has done well there. Not any offensive player, anyway. Randy Moss stunk there, as did Dominic Rhodes. But both of those players have played well at other franchises.

Tony Mandarich ended up falling flat like Russell, but later had a Big-Mike-Williams-style recovery, at least to the point where he became a serviceable NFL starter for the Colts. Who knows, maybe some team will take a flyer on him and make him a redemption project.

Or, not. lol

Interesting trivia nugget for you guys. Steve Emptman was a one time Redskin after he left the Colts. I think he was with us in the '98 season along with Ki Janna carter.
