bpoch
I know we had a "ask a mechanic" thread on here somewhere but search was unable to find it. Anyway, I have a 96 Camaro and I turned the A/C on yesterday only to find it's not blowing any cold air. Are there some things I can check myself before forking out a ton of money to somebody to fix it? It does blow air and the heater does work. twa
Likely a freon(134a) leak, but you can check the fuses . if it is just a little low you will hear the compressor kick in and out quickly If so you can buy a charge canister and add it yourself if you are halfway mechanical inclined. zoony
you have a leak somewhere. If the leak is in your comp, some places will rebuild your compressor (seals, etc.) to save you some cash Take it to a shop- they will charge it with freon then use a "sniffer" to identify the source of the leak.
