JasonCampbell177
Well I am in search for a new car and a guy I know is selling a 94 toyota celica for the asking price of $3,250. I'm probably going to talk this down a little bit but we will see how it goes. It's a manual transmission and is right at 100,000 miles. There seems to be no damage or engine troubles but I still have to check it out. What do you guys think?
aCalBearSkin
Check kbb.com and also check cars.com/autotrader.com to see what they're going for in your area. Looking on kbb.com, that price seems to be fair--assuming it's in decent condition. If you have a local mechanic, I'd have him do a quick pre-purchase inspection. TheGoodBits
Eh, for a 94 that's a bit high imo, even for only 100k and a Toyota. For a car that old I would put my price ceiling at like $2,500.
Kosher Ham
That seems steep for a 16 year old corolla. Low miles or not. I would keep looking around.

Slacky McSlackAss
Price does seem a bit high. Make sure its had the regular maintenance it needs, 100K sounds like Timing Belt SHOULD have been replaced already. But this guy may have got lucky, so make sure he's had that replaced. SkinnedAussie
Timing belt should have been replaced at around 70,000 miles, so ask for proof that this has been done. If the owner can't prove it, walk away and don't look back.
PokerPacker
I don't think you want a car that old. You should look for something maybe 10 years old and under 100,000 miles.
SkinnedAussie
Can't the owner ger $4500 for it if he scraps it, or has that scheme come to an end?
