They are based on performance, expectations, seizing opportunities and my not-so-humble opinion. A+ Giants: The 7-1 G-Men have been dominant in every phase in their quest to repeat as Super Bowl champs. At this stage, you will be surprised if they don't represent the NFC in the big game. New York is dominant in the trenches on both sides of the ball, featuring the best offensive line in football. If Justin Tuck doesn't make the Pro Bowl, they should cancel the game. The team loses Osi Umenyiora and Michael Strahan and is among the league leaders in sacks. Tom Coughlin has done an excellent job. Eli Manning has been great in crunch time. A- Redskins: Jim Zorn, in improbable fashion, has done an incredible job with this club. The 'Skins are primed for a playoff push at 6-3. Clinton Portis is the first-half MVP. Quarterback Jason Campbell has done more than look the part; he rarely turns it over. And Greg Blache doesn't get remotely enough credit for what he's done with the defense, led by Defensive Player of the Year candidate London Fletcher and rookie Chris Horton. The home losses against St. Louis and Pittsburgh do hurt, though. C+ Eagles: The Eagles are primed for a major run in the second half. But even at 5-3, the grade is this low because they could've and arguably should've won all three games (Dallas, Washington and Chicago) they lost. D Cowboys: I also picked the Cowboys to reach the Super Bowl this preseason. Wow. It's more than the injuries. The play of the offensive line has been, well, offensive. The defense has been way too inconsistent. And you wonder about the hold Wade Phillips has on this team with the characters Jerry Jones has given him. fwo40
The Eagles arguably should've beaten us? Okaaaay... Well the Eagles did blow a 14 lead....arguably means they had a chance.
TheItalianStallion
Well the Eagles did blow a 14 lead....arguably means they had a chance.I suppose, but make no mistake: they didn't lose due to bad luck.
Rexx1240
That A- is kinda generous but IMO, we shouldnt' got any lower than a B so i'll take it
shakinaiken
maybe a n A- for the first quarter, but more like a c+ for the second quarter: inconsistent offensive production, inability to score td's, but good defense, and good running game.. #98QBKiller
The home loss to St. Louis hurts a lot more than the Pitt loss
AKM311
I suppose, but make no mistake: they didn't lose due to bad luck. Maybe not bad luck, but if we had a 14-0 lead you would say afterward, "We should have won that game". I don't have a problem with that comment. Guest sith lord
My grade for the Skins is a B. Still way too many points left on the field.
Cooley4President
I'd say the A- is fair if you look at our performance relative to how we were expected to perform. If you look at it from a clean slate, however, I think it's a little generous considering how we've regressed just a tad in the last 4 games. Either way, we'll be a solid A by the end of the year. Califan007 The Constipated
They must be grading on a curve lol ... Then again, when you consider how fantastically the Skins bounced back from the Giants opener, how much improved JC has been, how dominant Portis has been, how we went up against 4 of the top 5 offenses in the first 4 weeks, and how all this occurred under a rookie head coach, it's damn ****ing impressive :applause:...So A - suits me fine.
