RIPSean
During the game and on the NFL.com recap (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter?game_id=29628&season=2008&displayPage=tab_gamecenter), it was said that today's game was the first time the Skins had been held scoreless in the 1st half since September 13, 1981. But weren't we beaten 36-0 by the Giants a couple years ago??? Sorry to bring that up and be a buzzkill but I just wanted to make that correction. SkinsHokieFan
Yea, that stat was wrong. There were lots of other times, including a 3-0 loss to the Jets back in 1993
skinsfan1523
Maybe at home?
rx7outkast
I think what they were trying to say is that it was the first time we've been shut out in a half AT HOME since '81. Any chance that's correct?
Broohaha
i think they meant the first time both the redskins AND their opponent had scored 0 points. because i remember that horrible 3-0 jets loss. oof.
CrypticVillain
Maybe at home? I think what they were trying to say is that it was the first time we've been shut out in a half AT HOME since '81. Any chance that's correct? I think the Cowboys shut us out one game. All I remember is that it was raining hard and that Troy Hambrick out a juke move on Matt Bowen when Bowen was like 10 yards away from him. FunBunch7
I think that in 1990 we were down 9-0 to thr Bears at home at halftime but came back to win 10-9...? Not to mention...we had some HORRIBLE teams from 94'-98'...some of them had to have been shut out at home...I watched every one of them but may have blocked a fair share out. dinhlovestheskins
I just watched the news, and the stat is referring to the first time BOTH TEAMS were held scoreless in the first half since 81.
Dan T.
I just watched the news, and the stat is referring to the first time BOTH TEAMS were held scoreless in the first half since 81. This is correct. The last time the Redskins played in a game that was 0-0 at the half was 1981.
