ArmchairRedskin
Reed does not suck. He's a fine SS. He'll do fine next to LL, just like last year.
NewCliche21
Reed, simple as that. He rocked last year, he'll rock this year.
foxtown redskin
:cheers:My guess is by years end, Hamilton will start. He has shown what he can do and it is better than the others. The coaches just have to see it and make the change. The guy has what it takes and brings it each play. Go Hamilton!!!!!!
Wyvern
Reed Doughty. He's still the starter going in. He's got to pick up his game a notch though. I think having Landry along-side will make Reed a better player. However, if we don't find a way to contain the outside run, we'll be having to rotate our strong safeties to keep them from getting worn out. HoyaSkins28
Either Reed or Kareem are fine with me. I think Hamilton might be a little bit of a stretch.
Ray Brown
Hey bro, i saw Horton playing FS in the second half of the Panthers game and in the Jaguars game. sweet, thats in a preseason game against scrubs. if he had to play FS in a real game we would be destroyed. He's a run stopper and is best used up in the box helping with the run. He runs like a 4.6 too, we couldn't use him as a centerfielder like we do with our FS now. darrelgreenie
Reed is going to be the starter at SS. If Landry can't go then Moore will play FS and Reed stays at SS. Horton can only play SS so reed would have to go down, and even in that case i would play hamilton at SS cause the past couple games horton hasn't been able to wrap up on tackles. The fact is that Horton can play FS and did so in 2 preseason games. sweet, thats in a preseason game against scrubs. if he had to play FS in a real game we would be destroyed. He's a run stopper and is best used up in the box helping with the run. How can you predict how he would do in a real game? True he is a run stopper, but isn't Reed a run stopper also? How did he look playing CF-FS against the Jags 1st team? He [Horton] runs like a 4.6 too -Also not true: http://www.nfldraftdog.com/NFL%20Scouting%20Combine/2008_nfl_combine_best_40_yard_da.htm SAFETIES NameTime Barrett, Josh4.35Quintin Demps4.38Thomas DeCoud4.48Chris Horton4.51 DaJuan Morgan4.52Tim Zbikowski4.52Jonathan Hefney4.53Kenny Phillips4.54Jamar Adams4.56Caleb Campbell4.56 Kareem Moore: 4.6/4.67 http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=17221&draftyear=2008&genpos=FS Chris Horton: 4.47/4.54 http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=15570&draftyear=2008&genpos=SS Reed Doughty: 4.62/4.65 http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=21757&draftyear=2006&genpos=FS Dude listen, we both agree that Reed will start at SS. You are entitled to whatever opinion you want about the other safeties. But, just be accurate when you write stuff about them.
HereComesTheDiesel44
Definately Reed Doughty. He worries me, but he has the experience. Maybe by the end of the season, it will be Horton or Moore (I know Moore is a FS, but they will figure out a way to get this guy on the field). I think Moore will get some notable playing time this year because I think Landry time will be split at both FS and SS. I also think that is why they were trying Reed Doughty out at FS in the last game as well; you know, to see how much flexibility they have. Horton and Hamilton will only see the field on special teams and if/when we are crushing opponents.
ciscofan
Doughty = Sean Considine.
DeadExField
it will be Doughty all season long.
LoudMouth12thMan
Agreed. Reed to start the season, then replaced by Horton at some point in the near future. Reed will not lose his job to any of these guys on the roster this year. Did you see the difference between his play against the Jags vs. the Panthers? It was night and day, and it speaks to his biggest strength which is the fact that he "never repeats his mistakes" [blache]. Doughty is getting better, and that is great for us b/c he and Landry can be great back there IMO. Reed starts all year long as long as he is healthy....that's my prediction.
